The scene that followed was utterly brutal.
Students wailed and howled under the Combat Instructor’s blows, in excruciating pain, almost beyond endurance. The Combat Instructor had genuinely suppressed his power to A-rank Superpower level. Yet against ten students, each also at A-rank, he completely dominated and brutalized them.
Time dragged on. Most of the first nine groups were carried into the infirmary. School nurses were overwhelmed—bandaging wounds, performing CPR, even using defibrillators. They had no time to curse the Combat Instructor.
“Uh, guys,” Tran said after much deliberation, watching the hellish Underworld before him. He’d thought only two groups would need hospitalization. But the casualty rate was sky-high! “After careful thought, I’ll bail before classes start... I’m not attending this school anymore.” He made what he considered the wisest decision of his life.
“No! Come back!” Yuanhe grabbed Tran. “That counts as early departure and will be recorded.” But Tran’s strength was immense—he dragged Yuanhe along. “Anyway, it’s not me skipping early. I’m just here to observe—why must I face this mess?”
“Wait, Tran!” Stella grabbed his hand. “You’re sick; you shouldn’t have to fight! Staying here is perfectly safe!”
“Hmm, that makes sense...” Tran stopped. As a sick student, no school would force him to fight while ill. “Alright then, you guys go ahead. I’ll cheer you on from below.”
Stella and Yuanhe sighed in relief. Yan Muyu’s fate was unknown. They had to handle school matters properly—at least avoid a blank record for her.
Meanwhile, after finishing the ninth group, the Combat Instructor joined the carrying effort. So many were down, tossed aside waiting for transport. Among the injured was Lilith, the blonde class rep. To show her strength, she pushed her Superpower to the max. She actually matched the Combat Instructor for ten seconds! This stunned not just students, but the instructor and nurses too. He was a battle-hardened veteran! How could anyone match him without years of training?
So the Combat Instructor remembered Lilith, urging nurses to give her emergency treatment to avoid long-term effects.
“Alright, cleaned up. Last group, come on up.” After carrying over twenty people back and forth between the combat field and infirmary, the Combat Instructor clapped his hands. He was completely unfazed, not a hint of fatigue.
“Teacher! Yan Muyu is sick; can she skip?” Yuanhe pleaded. Two reasons to keep Tran out: first, he was dragged back, shouldn’t get hurt for no reason. Second, if exposed, it’d be disastrous—everyone knew Yan Muyu’s weird Superpower. The handsome boy Mocha chimed in. He didn’t want his goddess beaten by that brute.
The Combat Instructor’s sharp eyes scanned the ten students. “On the battlefield, do you think enemies care if you’re sick?”
No one answered. This teacher was battle-tested; what hadn’t he seen? A mere cold was nothing.
“But her health is poor...” Stella tried to argue.
“The future won’t be like now. Protecting her like this will only harm her later.” The Combat Instructor walked to the field. “All ten of the last group, step up!”
Helplessly, all had to go. Yuanhe and Stella gave Tran apologetic looks. “Tran, you should leave. This is our fault, not yours. Consider Yan Muyu as having left early.” Then they entered the combat field.
Tran did consider running, but his pride stung from the girls’ words. Since ancient times, who escapes death? He couldn’t let the girls down! So he followed into the field.
Inside, he found two already down.
“Hey now,” the Combat Instructor said, standing on the two bodies, smiling gently. “I said it before: stay alert at all times. Even if not everyone’s here, the fight goes on, right?”
That smile sent chills down the seven others’ spines. Muscles tensed, Superpowers activated. Tran, though, felt nothing—just thought the teacher was a bit shameless... but he had a point!
“Blade of Will!” Yuanhe materialized a five-meter-long blade with her Superpower, slashing fiercely at the Combat Instructor.
Seeing the massive blade, the Combat Instructor was inwardly startled—way too big! He dodged quickly. But whenever he tried to close in, the blade was always in his path. “Good, good! You know this length restricts my movement, forcing me on the defensive.”
“Sorry, teacher,” Stella said, pulling out two beautifully decorated pistols. “We have a lot of ranged attacks. Be careful!” Tran thought: This fight is still on? Isn’t this cheating? But I like it!
“Superpower! Spatial Blast Bombs!” Stella fired bullets beside the Combat Instructor. Everyone wondered if it was useless—but the bullets exploded right next to him.
Cyan light flared, blurring the space around.
“Teacher,” Stella said, “I’ve shattered the space there. You’d better stay put in the middle!”
Now the Combat Instructor could only move on a single plane; left and right were blocked.
Yuanhe enlarged the giant blade again—now twenty meters long!
“Holy crap!” The Combat Instructor was stunned, but his legs didn’t stop—he retreated fast.
“Teacher!” Mocha led four others, blocking the rear. “You should use the time your comrades buy wisely!” They unleashed all kinds of attacks, trapping the Combat Instructor in a corner, waiting for the giant blade to fall!
“Seems you planned this well! Excellent, very good!” the Combat Instructor said happily.
Instantly, the blade crashed down, kicking up dust. But no one relaxed—everyone saw the Combat Instructor’s lips curve slightly at the last moment.
“Whoa! That armor is so cool!” Tran shouted. His outburst startled Yuanhe and Stella—they hadn’t expected him to follow. But in battle, deal with it later. What did he mean by armor?
“Heh, sharp eyes, young man,” the Combat Instructor emerged from the dust, clad in white armor, wielding a white scythe. “You guys surprised me—you forced me to use my Superpower!”
Students not in the infirmary were even more shocked—they’d fought desperately, yet he hadn’t used his Superpower.
Far away, a mature, sexy woman said to Ford beside her: “This year’s students are impressive—they forced Combat to use his Superpower. But that person you mentioned hasn’t shown much.”
“Well,” Ford replied, “he’s lazy. If he can avoid work, he will. So he’s probably just too lazy to fight.”
“...”
......
“Alright, time for my harvest,” the Combat Instructor said excitedly. “My Superpower is still A-rank! Let’s continue!” The next moment, he vanished.
“Everyone, back to back—” But before Yuanhe finished, the Combat Instructor appeared before her. “You’re out.” He kicked her flying.
“Teacher! How can you hit a girl so hard?” Tran, having observed enough, jumped in to defend.
“Oh? So it was you speaking. I thought it was a boy.” The Combat Instructor looked at Tran, then vanished instantly.
“Tran!” Stella shouted.
But next, a loud metallic clash echoed. The Combat Instructor’s white scythe met a blue staff, shaking the space around.
“Now this is truly interesting!” the sexy woman far away said, touching her lips with a smile.
