"Tran, get out of here now!" Lanyu rushed over and whispered to Tran.
"Huh? Why?" Tran asked, confused.
Of course, even without confusion, he couldn't escape. Soon, over a dozen men in black surrounded the small bar.
"You woman over there, what's your meaning?" The blond man—earlier kicked aside—clutched his face and glared menacingly at Tran. A trace of lust flickered in his eyes.
"You were clearly in the wrong first. Didn't you see our bar's rules? No harassing staff." Tran had carefully read Redemption Bar's regulations before work to avoid surprises. With his voice changer on, he sounded like a handsome girl.
"Hmph! How dare some tiny bar's rules restrict me? She's my sister—I can touch her if I want!"
"Huh?" Tran froze, dumbfounded. Had he beaten up an ally?
"Tran, ignore his lies. I have no brother like him." Alice stepped past Tran toward the blond man. "I've said it before: I won't return with you. You violated our rules—I have the right to expel you."
"Alice, you know this too. If we don't ally with the Rod Family now, our clan will be crushed!" The man's face twisted in grief.
"Mr. Pudar Leit, families like yours should just vanish..." Shiniang emerged. Her heavy makeup remained, but the shrewish aura was gone—only raw dominance lingered.
"Lu Shiniang, this is my family's affair. Please don't interfere." Pudar avoided her gaze.
"Hmph! You asked where my bar's spirit went? Listen: this is my territory. Force your way here, and even your old man would hesitate!" Shiniang's aura surged. Any strong observer would sense it—at least S Rank! Tran, oddly, felt nothing; he didn't even know his own rank.
Clearly, Pudar knew her strength. His current men stood no chance.
"Then I won't disturb you further..." Pudar turned to leave. But he glanced at Tran, making him shudder—not from power, but that disgusting look.
After Pudar left, the bar resumed normalcy. This wasn't the first incident; everyone was used to it.
Yet all eyes on Tran shifted. Some intrigued, some eager, others pitying.
"Weird!" Tran thought. Still, he collected nearly a hundred dollars in tips. Maybe he should just keep working here...
Shifts ran until dawn, so most slept by day. Tran did too—until a knock came at his door.
"Come in."
Lanyu with light blue hair and blonde Alice entered.
"Um, little brother Tran, thank you for last night!" Alice bowed stiffly.
"It's nothing! We're colleagues!" Tran assumed she praised his heroics. Her next words stunned him.
"This is my savings—six thousand dollars. Run now, little brother!" Alice held out a box of cash.
"Why?"
"That man is from the Leit Family! Ordinary people can't handle neutral zone clans like that," Lanyu said.
"He really is my brother. I fled because they wanted me for a marriage alliance," Alice murmured, head down.
"Your best move is to flee now. Their power isn't in Sin City, but it's close. Give them time, and you're trapped." Lanyu checked her wristwatch. "A flight to Tech City leaves in thirty minutes. There, they can't reach you."
"What about you, Sister Alice?" Tran ignored the flight.
"I'll... be fine. Shiniang protects me." Alice looked away.
"But Shiniang doesn't seem that strong..." Tran was honest—he truly felt her aura couldn't suppress him.
"You brat! Daring to gossip behind my back!" Shiniang's voice boomed from the doorway. "Still, you're right. I can only scare small fries. If Leit's inner circle comes, I'm powerless."
"Then why doesn't Sister Alice escape?"
"Useless. Only this dangerous neutral zone city shields me. Elsewhere, they'd snatch me. But even here now..." Alice trailed off.
"The Leit Family faces a crisis. A stronger clan seeks to devour them. To survive, they must ally with the local Rod Family—but the price is Alice's hand," Shiniang explained. "Time's up. They'll use force soon."
"Then I'm staying! Even if you lose, I'll fight!" Tran declared confidently—his Superpower fueled that certainty.
"Hahaha, kid, I value your heart. But leave. It's too dangerous."
"No!" Tran refused. Shiniang sheltered him in his darkest hour; he wouldn't flee at the first threat.
They stopped persuading him. Alice was the target; Tran wasn't urgent yet.
Tran spent a peaceful week mastering service and earning well. He even considered skipping school...
But calm never lasts. What must come always returns.
"Shiniang! Steward Ailangke's badly hurt! Brothers are frozen solid! Alice is captured!" A bloodied man burst in—Tran recognized him as a steward. Tran and Lanyu were cleaning; others were out shopping.
"What!? Unforgivable!" Shiniang roared, leaping up. "Where?"
"This way!" The steward limped out. Tran and Lanyu followed fast... This was serious.
