The next day, Yuxuan and I finished breakfast and headed to school. First, I handled her enrollment formalities. Then, I bought her a girls’ uniform set. After dropping her off at her old class, I finally returned to my own.
Thankfully, I’d used that Superpower at night. Otherwise, that dizziness… I definitely couldn’t have lasted ten seconds the next day. I swear, I’ll never use that ability again. I don’t want to experience that dizziness ever.
As soon as I entered the classroom, I felt Teacher Zhang’s murderous glare from behind. Hmm… There were still three seconds before class. Why was he staring now?
*Ding-ding-ding…*
Sure enough, the bell rang just as I sat down. Teacher Zhang glanced at me and shook his head.
“Everyone knows why we started early, right?” Teacher Zhang clapped his hands. “Your excited faces tell me you all know it’s not for classes! If anyone doesn’t want to join, you can leave after this meeting.”
I ignored him and dozed off. But things kept flying near me, forcing me to retaliate with paper balls…
“Who’s throwing chalk during class? If you’re not tired of tossing it, I’m tired of blocking!” I couldn’t take it anymore and stood up to shout.
“Oh~ our genius Li Ze has finally woken up. Quite the temper, huh!” Teacher Zhang gripped chalk, veins bulging on his face.
“Uh… nothing, Teacher Zhang. Please continue. I’m fine.” I bowed quickly and sat back down.
“Let me continue. It’s for the School Festival. Each class will elect one Executive Committee member to join the school’s main planning team. And we’ll use the fairest method: a democratic vote!”
I’d heard a bit about this School Festival yesterday. It’s a major city event—even outsiders attend. The live broadcast ratings are always high. But being on the Executive Committee is the most thankless job.
How to put it? You can’t enjoy the festival. You’re busy at school every day. Yet at the class celebration party, Executive Committee members seem irrelevant. I heard the school holds a separate party for them—it’s too awkward to join their own class’s.
While lost in thought, a ballot landed in my hand. Without thinking, I wrote Sunny Su’s name. Not just me—everyone around me did too.
Besides admiring our class president for being “so nice,” I felt sorry for her. Getting so many votes—who did she offend?
Maybe I shouldn’t have voted for Sunny Su? Eh, I’ll be merciful and vote for myself. She seems too pitiful. At least I won’t add to her burden.
Soon after, the teacher collected the ballots. Dozens of students helped count. The results were so unanimous it took only a minute.
“Ahem!” Teacher Zhang cleared his throat, and the class fell silent instantly. “I’ll announce the vote count. Sunny Su received 34 votes!”
As expected—out of 36 students, everyone except me and herself voted for her.
“Quiet! I’m not finished. Sunny Su isn’t first! The top vote-getter is… Li Ze, with 36 votes!”
