Chapter 3: Relentless Pursuit

Seeing the incredibly complex look on Sunny Su’s face, my mood actually lifted a bit. Sure, it was pitiful—after all that planning, someone stole her victory.

But for some reason, watching her now made me inexplicably cheerful!

"Class Rep~ Don’t be sad over this! It’s just a club president spot. Isn’t this actually lightening your load?"

To my surprise, Sunny Su didn’t say a word. She just lowered her head and walked out…

Slam!

The door crashed against the wall with a heart-jolting bang. The clubroom’s atmosphere shifted instantly.

Luoyu, who’d been ready to bicker with Sunny Su, stood frozen. Ye Qian and Zhao Yi were completely lost. Only Yuxuan Lin stayed the same—quietly gripping my arm, utterly unmoved by the chaos.

Logically, I should’ve chased her. Said some warm, touching words. Won her affection. Started a cliché high school romance.

But I wouldn’t do that. I had no obligation. All I wanted was a normal high school life… Romance? Maybe a realm I’d never enter.

I just wanted to be ordinary. Spend time with family. Live a simple life. Right now… Sunny Su’s opinion of me probably dropped even more.

So… I stood up. Patted Yuxuan Lin’s hand—told her to wait a moment. Then I dashed outside.

Yeah, those were my true thoughts. But I couldn’t just watch a girl cry! If I ever stopped caring about that, I wouldn’t be myself anymore.

Unconsciously, my body activated my Superpower. I wasn’t sure what happened—but when I snapped back, I was already at the club building’s entrance.

Sure enough, Sunny Su soon ran out the door, sobbing.

"Class Rep! Wait for me—"

Hearing my voice, she didn’t even glance ahead. She sped up.

But then I wondered—was she doing this on purpose? Sunny Su charged straight at me. Worst of all, I instinctively blocked her path.

No surprise. She hit me with enough force to send me flying. I took a small step back. Then jumped aside just as she crashed into me.

Even with that, we slid back a good distance.

Barely stopping, I felt a massive force on my stomach and arm. Sunny Su punched my abdomen. Then used that momentum for an over-the-shoulder throw.

Of course, unlike yesterday, my Superpower wasn’t gone. I flipped mid-air. Landed safely. Applied a joint lock to pin her down. But Sunny Su used my arm as a pivot—and somersaulted.

But… she flipped the wrong way. She landed right in my arms. Her chest pressed tightly against mine. Her messy hair half-covered her face, but her flushed cheeks were visible. Instantly, her strength faded.
