Mom waved her hand, then stuffed the map into mine. "Don't sweat the details," she said. "We should go and come back early, right?"

I sighed helplessly and grabbed her hand. Silently, I chanted "instant teleportation."

...

"Wow~ It's been ages since I saw Xiao Ze's Superpower!" Mom exclaimed. "Still so amazing! One blink, and we're already at the hotel."

I pulled her out while walking. "Mom, please," I begged. "Stop torturing me. Let's wrap this up early. Don't we report to the new school tomorrow? Can't I just rest?"

Mom pouted unhappily and led me inside. I hadn't noticed the hotel's exterior earlier, but now it looked incredibly luxurious.

A receptionist approached immediately. "Welcome to Star Century Hotel. Do you have a reservation?"

Mom glanced at me and waved. So she wanted me to pay? Despair flooded me. I'd just thought, *How can Mom afford this place?*—and now I had to foot the bill.

Reluctantly, I handed over my card. I'd earned plenty over the years alone. If asked how, I'd joke: a few instant teleportations could steal millions from banks.

Just kidding. My real side gig is magic. I'm an internationally famous magician. Appearance fees must be high—I never ask. They just transfer cash to my card; I never check...

The receptionist spoke again. "Respected Mr. Li Ze, sorry, but your card isn't working."

"Impossible!" I said, shocked. "That card should have at least a few hundred thousand!"

She handed it back. "Mr. Li Ze, it now holds over one hundred million USD. My terminal can't process it. Please wait—I've contacted the manager."

Mom froze, speechless. "O-one hundred million USD? What happened? Did you rob a bank?"

I stammered too, startled. "I-I don't know! I just do magic shows. How could I have that much?"

The receptionist giggled. "What a fun couple! Not even knowing your own balance."

"Uh... she's my mom," I mumbled, embarrassed.

Mom covered her face, blushing. "Mistaken for a couple with my son? Being young is such a crime~"

Watching her, I silently groaned. She wasn't sorry—she was showing off!

The receptionist apologized professionally. "Madam, terribly sorry for my rudeness. But you truly look so young!"

"Ara ara~ Nonsense, don't exaggerate!" Mom chirped.

Seeing her blissful face, I wanted to point and shout, "I don't know her!"

The receptionist suddenly added, "Speaking of magicians—I recall Mr. Zheri, the world's top magician. His fee per show is over three million USD now."
