Chapter 6: A Fateful Reunion

Sure, he’d said it, but there was no way Chu Xueyue would actually wear women’s clothes.

Why? Simple: no materials. Even if he wanted to, he needed outfits. No women here meant no clothes. Even if he bought some outside, his entry ticket was one-time use—he couldn’t leave. Wearing them would be pointless.

Most importantly, he hadn’t brought any disguise props. No wigs, no colored contacts, no makeup tools—all left in his room back home. How could he cross-dress here? Until he found replacements, it was impossible.

Wait, Albert mentioned this world had disguise items, but only sold through special channels. Sigh, if only he had those. His cross-dressing would look way better here than on Earth.

To clarify, Chu Xueyue didn’t cross-dress for cosplay. His main reason was having no girlfriend. One day, he clicked into a so-called “largest national gay dating site”—one starting with B—and went down a path of no return.

“No girlfriend? Just dress up as one yourself!” He didn’t just say it—he lived it. Every Singles’ Day on Earth, he’d wear beautiful women’s clothes. Not to date himself—that’d be boring. As a pretty single dog, he loved finding couples showing off love on streets and playing third wheel to ruin their dates.

But he never went too far. It was just for fun—he didn’t actually break up couples.

“Sigh, what a shame. If I still had my gear, I could’ve snuck in too.” Chu Xueyue sighed, waiting at his agreed spot with Albert. He had no idea where Albert went. Right after entering, Albert gave him money to buy stuff and vanished.

Though Chu Xueyue had a cross-dressing habit, he still liked girls. In his words: “I wear women’s clothes to better understand girls. It helps me get a girlfriend.”

But after all this time, he’d only gotten better at cross-dressing—not at getting a single girlfriend.

“Man, where the hell is Albert? Seriously, this huge place has so many stalls, but not one sells food or drinks. Do these people have zero business sense? Running a food stall here would be pure profit—you could charge triple!” Chu Xueyue muttered alone.

“You’re right. With such a golden opportunity, even magic-obsessed students would know this. With so many here, surely some have business-savvy families. It must be a school rule—banning student food stalls. I can tolerate that, but at this hour, why no bento stalls? Trying to starve me?” Hungry and past lunchtime, Chu Xueyue vented.

“So you’re just hungry? I’ve got food. Want some? I was about to eat.”

Hearing free food, Chu Xueyue spun around—only to forget who spoke. Someone offering meals? Too good to be true.

“Holy crap! You damn gay guy! How’d you get behind me? Was that you talking?” Chu Xueyue yelled, jumping back and shouting.

His shout drew nearby attention. But all they saw was him yelling alone—they couldn’t see the two figures hidden by magic items.

“What’s wrong with that guy? Why’s he shouting?”

“He seems to be talking to someone.”

“No one’s there. He’s crazy or just bored.”

“No, no—he’s probably practicing drama. Theater troupes are here lately. He must be rehearsing alone.”

Ignoring the whispers, Chu Xueyue thought: Caring too much would kill me with embarrassment. Besides, he guessed this gay Hero and his maid had invisibility items—of course others couldn’t see them. Explaining would just make him look insane. Ugh, all because of this gay Hero.

“You don’t have to be so excited just seeing me,” the new Hero said calmly.

(He probably thought: Stop this. Others can’t see me—only you. They’ll think you’re crazy.)

“You’re a damn gay guy! And you’ve shown interest in me—how can I not be excited? Stay away! Don’t come closer!” Chu Xueyue’s voice was controlled, but he stepped back, ready to bolt.

“Hey, hey,” the Hero stepped forward as Chu Xueyue retreated. “Uh, I’m really not gay. Why that impression? I’m straight.”

Warily eyeing this weird Hero, Chu Xueyue thought: Better leave fast. Being on his radar isn’t good. Luckily, his bracelet was disguised, and Heroes had no special senses for each other—otherwise, being recognized as a Hero would be trouble.

As a Hero, he’d have to work for this world. Chu Xueyue wanted the paycheck without the job. What’s wrong with that?

“I get it. So don’t come closer. Keep this distance when talking. Thanks.”

“…” (So he still thinks I’m gay.)

“Heh heh.” The succubus beside him chuckled quietly.

Hey, I can hear you, you know.
