Chapter 4: Training?

"By the way, how do you plan to spend your day off today?" Cold Night Feather asked, her questioning gaze settling on Bai Xin, who was still in a daze.

"Huh? Of course, I'll party at home all day!" Bai Xin whooped, jumping up and down with excitement. "But, is Brother Li Ming really okay?"

Cold Night Feather ruffled Bai Xin's hair. "Don't worry. I've never been wrong about people."

Well, Cold Night Feather had convinced her. Bai Xin trusted her almost blindly, as if she'd been doted on forever.

"But how exactly will you party?" Cold Night Feather opened the door and glanced back.

A sharp glint flashed in Bai Xin's eyes.

"Oh! This is... the devil's drink! Burp, truly fine wine!" Cold Night Feather downed the dark red liquid with ice cubes, making a sour-yet-refreshed face, and burped.

Bai Xin gulped her own drink, grinning. "Haha! This isn't wine—it's cola! A carbonated drink, but yeah, the devil's drink!"

"I must say, Earthlings know how to enjoy daily life. Even commoners reach this level," Cold Night Feather remarked.

"Alright! Let's play a game?" Bai Xin tugged Cold Night Feather's sleeve, eyes sparkling.

Swept up by Earth's vibrant entertainment, Cold Night Feather didn't refuse. But she frowned. "Aren't computers solo-only?"

Bai Xin just smiled. She ran to the TV, hooked up a PS4, and handed Cold Night Feather a controller. "Who said games need computers?"

They partied from morning till noon. Lunch was takeout—Bai Xin was too lazy to cook—and Cold Night Feather grumbled nonstop.

"Ahhh... Woke so early, I really need sleep now!" Bai Xin looked utterly burnt out. Cold Night Feather recalled the frost-bitten cabbages she'd grown idly on the Freya Continent.

"Haha, sleep if you want," Cold Night Feather smiled. "Health comes first."

Bai Xin nodded and headed to her room, then turned halfway.

"Huh? Flowers on my face?" Cold Night Feather asked, holding "History of the Celestial Dynasty," puzzled by Bai Xin's stare.

A visible blush spread across Bai Xin's fair cheeks. After a long pause, she took a deep breath and whispered, "Um, Cold Night Feather... want to sleep together?"

An ordinary person might miss those words. But Cold Night Feather heard them. The book slipped from her hands, clattering on the tiles.

Her heart surged like the Chilean tsunami! It happened—the legendary same-bed invitation!

What was ordinary girl-to-girl sleeping now felt awkward. Cold Night Feather used to be male, and Bai Xin knew her past.

The ever-composed Cold Night Feather lost her cool. A blush crept up her peerless face.

She chuckled to herself. Why hesitate? Just sleeping. Her "equipment" was long gone.

If someone had told the old Cold Night Feather—who ignored stunning beauties—that she'd blush over a flat-chested, flat-bottomed girl's nap invite, she'd have killed them.

"Ahem, sure. I'm tired too," Cold Night Feather lied. A near-divine powerhouse wouldn't tire from morning play.

Bai Xin walked on silently, already regretting it. What was she thinking? Blatant seduction! What if Cold Night Feather devoured her whole?

But glancing at Cold Night Feather's perfect figure and face, Bai Xin relaxed. With such looks, she'd never want Bai Xin's petite frame.

Cold Night Feather felt uneasy.

Bai Xin had seemed nervous, but only tensed briefly after Cold Night Feather got in bed. Then—within a minute—she snored.

Worse, she hugged Cold Night Feather like a pillow, buried her head between her breasts, and nibbled and licked.

Cold Night Feather's forehead darkened. *Girl, what candy are you eating?*

She pushed Bai Xin's head aside. Bai Xin smacked her lips, frowned, and breathed evenly again. Cold Night Feather gazed at the peaceful face. Her restless heart calmed, as if Bai Xin had soothing magic.

"This kid's actually cute when she sleeps still," Cold Night Feather muttered. If Bai Xin heard, she'd jump up and bite her chest again.

"Huh, good night, Bai Xin." Saying it at noon felt fine.

Bai Xin had feared Cold Night Feather would take advantage—she always acted sly and flirty. But Bai Xin unconsciously nibbled Cold Night Feather's chest, dreaming of ice cream.

Cold Night Feather just admired her sleep. Truly a gentleman!

They slept till evening. Cold Night Feather woke as Bai Xin stirred—sleep was habit, not need, for her.

"Ahhh... Cold Night Feather, you're awake too?" Bai Xin rubbed sleepy eyes, watching her sit up.

Cold Night Feather said nothing. She checked the clock: 17:58. A eerie smile spread. "Heh heh. After dinner, your training begins."

Bai Xin jolted awake at that sinister gaze, voice trembling. "H-how exactly?"

Cold Night Feather kicked her off the bed with a bare foot. "Later! Cook dinner first."

Bai Xin yelped "Oh!" and ran out in pajamas. Her home—no one would see.

"Ahem, so what's the training?" After eating, Bai Xin changed into a tight white long-sleeve shirt, gray cap over a ponytail, tight shorts showing fair calves, and purple sneakers.

Clothes made the girl. Even a silly one looked sharp now. Though to Cold Night Feather, Bai Xin was still silly.

"Bai Xin, your skin improved. Figure and face too," Cold Night Feather noted. The current Bai Xin was far prettier—75 to 80+ out of 100.

Bai Xin nodded. "You think so? I thought it was my imagination!"

Cold Night Feather stroked her chin. "The Mystic Necklace, probably... Never mind. Student Bai Xin! Ready for training?"

Bai Xin straightened, energetic. "Ready! Teacher Cold Night Feather!"

"Good!" Cold Night Feather nodded. "I told Li Ming: real combat builds strength. Same for you. You have power but can't use it—you still see yourself as weak."

Bai Xin nodded thoughtfully, then paled. "Wait... where's combat here? This dump? Don't say... fight you?!"

She recalled Cold Night Feather's ferocity against Lin Mi, shaking her head wildly. "No way! Can I quit now?"

Cold Night Feather stared with dead-fish eyes. "Not me. Can constant crushing build strength?"

Bai Xin couldn't argue. She sat, puzzled. "Then where? This is just a rear city."

"Sealed beings are waking here. Their followers act first," Cold Night Feather said, a cold glint in her eyes from last night's robed figures. "They're your opponents."
