"Sister Myra, do you hate me?" Violet asked, tears welling up in her eyes as she looked at me with a hurt expression.

"I'm sorry... I... I..." I stammered, unsure how to respond, and turned a pleading gaze to Eunice. Your body—you decide.

Eunice's expression was odd. She clearly hadn't expected Violet's unusual request.

"Violet, I can't decide this," I soothed her. "I need to ask my brother. If he agrees... I'll agree too."

"Brother?" Violet's eyes darkened with displeasure. "Sister Myra, why obey him? Shouldn't you decide for yourself? You both look nearly the same age—just a year or two older than me."

Violet, don't speak recklessly. Though we're close in age, she's Eunice—the one who killed me without hesitation. She controls my freedom completely. This body belongs to her, not me...

Feeling utterly helpless, I added, "We... are actually twins. That's why we look similar."

"Is that so?" Violet nodded, then turned to Eunice with a hint of annoyance. "Mr. Aranthien, you're heading to Bluewater City anyway. My father says it's still days away. The journey is exhausting. Let Sister Myra ride with me in the carriage. As her brother, shouldn't you care for her comfort?"

Eunice fell silent for a few seconds. "Myra can't leave me. She must stay by my side. So she can't be with you."

"What did you say!?" Violet's eyes widened. Her blue gaze burned with anger, as if something precious was being stolen. Beyond the flicker of rage, panic and fear of loss clouded her eyes.

"She can't stay with you. It's for your own good," Eunice said, shaking her head. "Let's go, Myra."

Her tone was so final. I could only murmur an apology to Violet before turning to follow Eunice.

"Sister Myra..." Violet grabbed my hand. I looked down to see tear tracks on her young face.

"Don't go... I... it hurts so much... I want... to sleep..."

I froze, unsure what to do. Violet, why cling to me so desperately? What does keeping me mean to her?

"I'm sorry, Violet..." I said, torn inside but resolute. Whatever her struggles, I... can't help her. I have no autonomy. This body isn't mine.

"No..." Violet threw herself into my arms, hugging me tightly, her face buried in my chest. "Please don't leave, Sister Myra. I'm begging you—stay with me? Even... even just one night. I'm so scared..."

Her small frame trembled slightly in my arms, soft sobs escaping her. She lifted her head, tears glistening around her clear, sky-blue eyes.

"Is staying... really that hard?"

I blinked, flustered, and tried to soothe her. "Let go, Violet. It can't be helped. I must go with my brother."

"Are your brother's words truly that important to you?"

Of course. I can't disobey her. I hesitated to say it aloud—Violet's hatred for Eunice was palpable, and I sensed it would only fuel her anger.

Violet clenched her teeth and called to Eunice, "One thousand gold coins, Aranthien! Stay, and I'll give them to you."

I didn't know the value of a thousand gold coins in Avaria, but Gry the guard's wide-eyed stare said it was a fortune. His jaw dropped so low, I thought it needed a punch to shut.

Eunice shook her head. "I don't need it."

She turned and began to walk away.

Violet's eyes flashed with panic. "You may not need it—but don't you want to heal your injured friend?"

Eunice halted and looked back. "You can help?"

"Once in Bluewater City, I'll send servants to find the best doctor for the injured sister. I'll cover all costs."

Eunice paused, thinking for a moment. "Fine. I accept."

I was dumbfounded. The resolute Eunice had just sold me out so easily.

"Perfect," Violet said with satisfaction, taking my hand. "Let's go, Sister Myra."

"Wait," Eunice interjected suddenly.

"What now? Reneging already?" Violet frowned.

"I just need to speak to Myra," Eunice said, turning to me with a flat tone. "Sister, you know what's proper and what's not. Don't misbehave just because I'm not beside you."

I forced a laugh. "No, no—trust me, brother."

"See that you do," Eunice replied, her gaze sharp with warning.

I sighed inwardly. I'd already promised to guard her body well.

With agreement reached, we placed the unconscious Rosalynd in another carriage. Eunice stayed beside her, watching over the young knight who hadn't awakened for over a day and night.

"Come on," Violet said excitedly, pulling me toward the middle carriage. "Sister Myra, it's a long way to Bluewater City. Let's sleep first."

"Wait... Miss Violet, this isn't safe," Guard Gry stepped in front of us again, hesitating.

Violet scowled. "Uncle Gry, what do you want? Don't think being Father's old retainer gives you the right to control me."
