Ouyang Rui was in a foul mood, and the reason was simple. They’d been sent to handle a few E Rank thugs, yet the Golden Triangle trio had been taken down by the very targets instead.
But most of Ouyang Rui’s available strong personnel were tied up chasing Winter Xueer, the Winter Witch, who’d fled H City.
“Useless trash,” Ouyang Rui muttered under his breath.
“Mr. Ouyang, you have nothing to worry about,” a man said, stepping beside him. If Lin Jie and his group were here, they’d recognize this man—he was the buyer from the earlier little loli transaction, one of Evolution Corporation’s operatives. “Those E Rank Heroes who ruined the deal won’t live to see tomorrow’s sunrise.”
…
“No way. I can’t let such a young girl live with you guys,” Lin Wan declared, cradling the little loli in her arms after shopping. “I don’t trust you one bit! Especially you, big brother!”
“What did I do?” Lin Jie asked, baffled.
“Don’t think I don’t know. Those anime you’ve been watching have twisted you into a total weirdo,” Lin Wan accused, pointing at him.
“Me? No way! If anyone’s weird, it’s this guy,” Lin Jie shot back, jabbing a finger at Xiao Zhan standing nearby.
“Who are you calling weird? I only date mature women,” Xiao Zhan defended himself.
“Sweetie, tell Sister—did they do anything strange to you?” Lin Wan asked the little loli beside her.
The girl, now dressed in a new pink dress with her hair tied into twin ponytails by Lin Wan, tilted her head thoughtfully. Then she pointed at Xiao Zhan. “This brother poked me with a weird stick when we first met. It made me feel all strange.”
Lin Wan stared at Xiao Zhan like he was a pervert.
“Wait, that was a misunderstanding! That ‘stick’ is my weapon—I—” Xiao Zhan stammered, only digging himself deeper.
“See? I told you he’s the weird one. If I hadn’t stopped him fast, who knows what he’d have done,” Lin Jie added, piling on. “Right, little sister?”
“Mhm!” The girl nodded eagerly.
“See? Your big brother isn’t weird.”
“Lin Brother snatched the stick from Xiao Brother,” the little loli confirmed with another nod, then sealed Lin Jie’s fate: “Then Lin Brother tried to poke me with it too.”
Lin Wan hugged the girl tighter. Her pervert stare had hardened into pure disgust.
“Though these two are total degenerates, don’t worry—I’ll keep them in line,” Glasses Bro said to Lin Wan, his tone sharpening. “Ask her. I’m great with kids.”
“Lolicon Bro is really nice. He promised me tasty Spicy Strips and fun outings,” the little loli chimed in, clearly favoring Glasses Bro over Lin Jie and Xiao Zhan.
“Lolicon Bro?” Lin Wan’s glare turned icy.
“That’s a misunderstanding! I’m nothing like these two,” Glasses Bro protested.
“I don’t believe it. This child can’t stay with you—it’s just not safe,” Lin Wan insisted.
“No,” Lin Jie countered. “I told you—she’s being hunted by a dangerous organization. You’d be in danger too if you take her.”
“I don’t care,” Lin Wan said stubbornly. “I’m taking this adorable child home.”
“This isn’t the time for stubbornness. What if enemies attack our house?” Lin Jie argued.
“Aren’t you here? I heard you took down a B Rank Super Hero single-handedly,” Lin Wan retorted. “Besides, you three men can’t even care for a kid properly.”
“Who says we can’t?” Lin Jie huffed.
“Exactly,” Xiao Zhan added. “I’ve been taking great care of her, right, little sister?”
The little loli beamed. “Yes! Brother gave me all kinds of Spicy Strips after bringing me home.”
“…”
“…”
“…”
“We’re leaving. Listen to Sister. Stay far from these degenerate men. I’ll cook my specialty dishes for you at home,” Lin Wan said, leading the girl away. The three speechless men were left behind.
“You pervert! Why’d you feed her nothing but Spicy Strips at home? You’ve turned a sweet loli into a fool!” Lin Jie snapped at Xiao Zhan.
“And you have the nerve to talk? Who gave your sister the impression you’re a weirdo? You did!” Xiao Zhan shot back.
“Me? How am I weird?” Lin Jie fumed.
“Who shouted things like, ‘Anyone who dares to snatch our loli will regret it!’ in public?”
Glasses Bro wisely ignored the two weirdos. In this era where phones and electronics risked detection, his ability made him the perfect messenger for daily contact with Winter Xueer.
Watching Glasses Bro vanish, Lin Jie and Xiao Zhan stopped bickering.
“What now?” Lin Jie asked.
“You handle the girl. If you can’t manage her, I’d just be feeding myself to the wolves,” Xiao Zhan replied.
“What about you?”
“I’m upgrading my weapon and setting up specialized recording glasses at key spots. My company’s intel confirms at least 80% of Winter Xueer’s story is true.”
“Fine. We split up. I’ll guard the girl. You do your part,” Lin Jie said, turning to follow Lin Wan.
“Wait—dragging your sister into this… is it really safe?” Xiao Zhan called after him.
“Relax. She won’t get a scratch. I won’t let anyone I protect get hurt again. Besides… we really can’t care for kids,” Lin Jie said confidently.
Watching Lin Jie’s retreating back, Xiao Zhan muttered curiously, “Why did he say ‘again’?”
…
That night, at Xiao Tower. A slender shadow slipped past all security systems, reaching the penthouse undetected.
Shadow—one of Evolution Corporation’s C Rank assassins—excelled in stealth beyond most World Government elite agents. Tonight’s mission was simple: eliminate Xiao Zhan, the E Rank Hero who’d recently sabotaged their deal.
Xiao Zhan seemed engrossed in his workshop. Shadow had already infiltrated his living room, clinging to the ceiling with skin camouflaged to match the tiles. One step out of his lab, and Xiao Zhan would die here.
Soon, Xiao Zhan emerged.
“Perfect timing,” Shadow thought, ready to strike—but her focus snagged on the object in his hand, missing her chance.
“What… is that thing?” Shadow stared, stunned, as Xiao Zhan entered the living room holding a pixelated rod.
“My Plasma Stain Remover Rod 3001 is finally complete,” Xiao Zhan murmured, examining his weapon.
“That’s his signature weapon? Why does it make my face burn?” Shadow gaped at the censored rod.
“Time for a test,” Xiao Zhan said, activating it. A low hum filled the room. The rod’s tip began vibrating erratically.
Shadow’s face flushed crimson on the ceiling. “T-this isn’t a weapon! Who fights with something so perverted?”
Ignoring her inner scream, Xiao Zhan grabbed a cup.
‘A cup? What’s he doing?’ Shadow’s eyes locked onto his every move.
As she watched, a stream of creamy white liquid shot from the pixelated rod into the cup. Xiao Zhan filled it with steaming liquid.
“He made it this realistic… he’s such a pervert,” Shadow thought wildly. But then Xiao Zhan did the unthinkable—he downed the entire cup, licking his lips afterward.
“This… this is insane! He drank it! He actually enjoyed drinking that perverted stuff? What kind of man does that? Even girls wouldn’t—” Shadow’s mind spiraled into chaos.
“Perfect sweetness. Now I can grab hot milk anytime during battles,” Xiao Zhan announced.
“It’s milk! Of course no man would drink… that,” Shadow sighed in relief.
“Next, the new combat suit,” Xiao Zhan said, triggering a device. His entire body blurred under a pixelated haze.
A humanoid figure covered in static, wielding a pixelated rod, now stood in the room.
“This has gotten seriously out of hand!”
“Testing max power,” Xiao Zhan pressed a button. The rod spun wildly, flinging white liquid everywhere—even coating his pixelated suit.
“Ugh, it leaks milk at full power…”
To Shadow, a static-covered blob dripping unknown white goo now occupied the room.
“This is beyond disgusting!” Shadow lost her cool on the ceiling.
