The next day.

Wenwu woke to find the older sister still sleeping beside him. Recalling how she’d pulled out all the stops yesterday to make him submit—but to no avail—a faint smile slipped onto his face at the memory of that wild scene. Maybe it was mockery, maybe pride. Either way, Wenwu had won this battle, and as a man, his confidence swelled.

"Good morning, Master."

Stepping out of the inn, Wenwu was greeted by Silver’s radiant smile. Having a cute silver fox loli wish him good morning daily was quite the perk.

"By the way, Silver, where’d you sleep last night?"

"On the roof."

"The roof? Why there? Can you even sleep well on a roof?"

"Just used to it. Don’t sweat the details. But honestly, I barely slept. That older sister went all out—kept at it from after dinner till past midnight, and the noise was insane. Haah..."

Silver yawned mid-sentence.

Wenwu didn’t know how long the frenzy lasted, but he had to admit: that sister was dedicated.

"Master, what’s the plan for today?"

"Silver, do you know where the Elvenfolk are?"

"Huh? The Elvenfolk? Well... I know the general area, but Master, why elves?"

Wenwu explained Desmona’s request, glossing over the reward part.

Silver’s expression froze. Her mouth hung open, speechless.

"Hey, say something."

"Ahem... Master, are you sure? Robbing an Elvenfolk tomb?"

"Of course."

"Alright, I’ll take you. But I only know the rough direction. Rumor says only those with a strong Essence Energy source can find the Elvenfolk village entrance."

"Silver, what’s your take on this?"

"Anyone who agrees to this is either crazy or brainless."

Wenwu had expected her reply, but not how bluntly she put it.

"Then why not stop me?"

"You’re my master. I won’t oppose your decisions. And would you even listen if I did? No. Since you’re doing it anyway, why bother?"

Her words were true, but they left Wenwu uneasy.

"Then let’s go."

Silver eyed him up and down. "Master, planning to walk? It’s far. Very, very far..."

"How far?"

"Three days on horseback, at least. Didn’t Princess Royal give you a horse for this?"

"Ahem... I figured my gambling winnings covered a horse easily, so I didn’t ask. Who knew you’d blow it all on a coffin?"

Wenwu spun a believable lie. Oblivious, Silver apologized with a silly grin, unaware he’d simply forgotten to ask. True to form, Wenwu avoided spending whenever possible.

"Master, how about snagging a horse?" Silver asked with a sly grin.

Wenwu caught her meaning instantly and nodded back, equally sly.

They reached the horse market, stalls brimming with every breed.

"See that mare seller over there, Master? Charm her, and we’ve got horses. Time to unleash that manly charm."

"Whoa, her dad’s beside her—looks tough."

"I’ll handle him. You’ve got this, Master."

Silver strode off toward the uncle first.

"Uncle, which is your finest horse?" she inquired with practiced ease.

"Welcome, guest! All our horses are quality," the seller beamed.

"Quality, yes—but not the best."

Silver shook her head theatrically, turning to leave.

"Wait, guest! Didn’t expect such expertise from one so young. Follow me—I’ll show you a true gem."

The seller gestured inward. As Silver trailed him, she shot Wenwu a meaningful glance: *Go*.

"Hi there, beauty. Got any good horses?"
