Wenwu had never enjoyed such treatment before—openly flirting with someone practically throwing herself at him. His hands grew bolder, wandering freely.
"Ah..." The rabbit beastkin girl suddenly gasped softly.
"Wh-what's wrong?" Wenwu was badly startled.
"My tail..."
"Tail?"
Wenwu had no idea what she meant.
"Ahem," Silver explained beside him, "for beastkin, the tail is the most sensitive spot. Touching it sends tingles through your body."
Huh? Beastkin? So the rabbit girl in his arms wasn't a human in costume—but a real one? Wenwu's heart raced. To test Silver's words, he deliberately stroked the short, cute tail.
"Ah... my tail... no..."
Her legs wobbled instantly, her whole weight collapsing against Wenwu.
"Karida! What are you doing? Come help now!" A supervisor-like figure shouted from nearby.
"I... I'm coming..." Karida replied, confirming her name. She gritted her teeth and pushed Wenwu away.
"Annoying," she muttered, turning toward the supervisor.
"Hey hey, Master," Silver tugged Wenwu's sleeve, eyes sparkling with hope, "can you stroke my tail like that too?"
Wenwu liked loli types, but Silver's submissive eagerness sparked zero interest.
"No." He flatly refused.
Rejected, Silver's high spirits instantly deflated.
"Master, you idiot!" She spun and ran out of the casino, leaving Wenwu standing there flustered. He hadn't expected such a fierce reaction. Chasing a servant as master? Unthinkable. Besides, this casino felt just like those back home—and wasn't Karida still around?
Wenwu abandoned the thought of chasing her and walked deeper inside.
"Place your bets! No more bets!" The dealer's cry echoed.
"Well, if it isn't Master Wenwu?" A fat man called out.
"Who are you?"
"Tsk, big shots forget so easily. I'm Fatty the Bookie."
"Fatty the Bookie? Oh... you." Wenwu played along, sensing his motive.
"Short on gambling cash again? Need a coin or two?"
Wenwu instantly recognized a loan shark—and a familiar one at that. He almost refused, but with no money to bet and the option to run if he lost, he flashed a spring-like smile. "Sure, lend me some."
Fatty grinned ear to ear, handing over a hundred gold coins.
As Wenwu happily headed for a table, Fatty subtly signaled. Two burly men slipped after him.
"Hmph," Fatty muttered, "last time you got lucky. This time? No such luck."
