"Tch. It’s only been a thousand years, and now the Holy Church’s Legendaries have turned into this? How utterly delightful."

"After all, trash remains trash at its core."

But right after my first words faded, I shook my head slightly and muttered to myself twice.

The next moment, I released all my Battle Halos outward.

Thirty Battle Halos—no more, no less—precisely signifying my current status as a Divine General.

Immediately, all the Holy Church warriors before me erupted in an uproar!

"...H-how is this possible!"

After seeing the full thirty Battle Halos encircling me, the previously arrogant man instantly wore an expression of disbelief.

"We clearly killed your true soul! A mere fragment of a wandering spirit—even if it reclaimed the original body, how could its strength not have dropped? Illusion! This is an illusion! Everyone, don’t panic!"

"Foolish creatures always blind themselves to truth... Or have you never even seen a Divine General?" I said, looking at the man with disdain. The next moment, my thirty Battle Halos suddenly glowed faint purple. Instantly, immense power surged through my body, and I charged forward, hefting my heavy sword!

I took a slight step forward. The very next second, I stood right before the man.

The heavy sword descended.

Crash—

With a crisp sound, his massive warhammer shattered into fragments. He let out a slight grunt, stumbling back several steps as five of his Battle Halos shattered instantly.

A Level 29 Legendary—though only a step from a Divine General, that step is an uncrossable chasm.

But the moment I repelled him, the other three Legendaries charged at me. Simultaneously, a mage in a cross-embroidered robe began casting. Instantly, my soul felt suppressed, my movements and thoughts slowing.

The next moment, the three Legendaries closed in.

"Useless—"

Yet I felt no panic.

I flipped my wrist, swinging my heavy sword. Purple flames erupted along its blade!

Violent power gathered on it. I swung fiercely, and a force blasted outward from me. The three Legendaries—already raising their weapons—grunted and stumbled back. The soul-suppressing mages’ eyes bulged instantly; their hands clutched their throats as if choking.

Blood gushed from their facial features. They died instantly from magical backlash tearing their insides.

"Truly foolish," I said calmly, glancing at the suddenly deceased mages.
