"I meant rest for a bit, not sleep! Come on, get up and eat breakfast. Lu hasn’t had anything to eat in ages, right?"

I gently patted Lu’s head and smiled faintly before speaking to her.

"Mmph… I know."

Lu, still lying on my bed, squinted slightly. After a pause, she reluctantly sat up.

For the physically robust Demonfolk, skipping meals for days meant little. As for Lu’s thousand-year sealing… during that time, internal consumption slowed drastically. Essentially, the body entered a cryo-like state. The sealing trapped the physical form, but consciousness remained active.

Much more could be said about sealing, but that’s not needed now.

"Huh?"

Right after Lu struggled off my bed and I led her to the living room, she scanned the decor. Stunned, she let out a confused sound.

"Amelia, is this world’s standard decoration?"

Lu tugged my arm, looking up at me.

"Yes. Most places here look like this, and the technology is highly advanced."

I nodded slightly and replied quickly.

"Eh? Really advanced?" Lu tilted her head curiously. "Compared to our world’s tech?"

"Hmm… it’s hard to compare directly."

I stroked my chin, thinking before answering.

In Amelia and Lu’s original world, magic and technology coexisted—high magic thrived alongside tech for ordinary folks. But this world’s tech path differed; it wasn’t based on electrical systems. That was another story.

"Whoa! So many skyscrapers here?"

Barefoot, Lu pitter-pattered to the window. She stood on tiptoe, peering outside.

A gasp escaped her instantly.

Through the glass reflection, I saw her face frozen in shock—eyes wide, mouth slightly agape.

"Amelia! Amelia! Are we in this world’s capital? How can there be so many skyscrapers?"

Still on tiptoe, Lu spun around, staring at me with wide-eyed astonishment.

"No. We’re just in a small-to-medium city. Nothing major."

I smiled faintly at her question.

In Lu’s world, skyscrapers existed but were rare outside powerful nations’ capitals. Even mid-sized cities lacked them.

"Eh… just a small city?"

Lu tilted her head slightly, blinking.

"Then this world must be stronger than ours. Amelia, is it safe for us to stay? And if they detect the Demon Realm… won’t that put it in danger?"

Worry flickered across her face.

"Don’t worry about that, Lu."

I paused briefly, then smiled reassuringly.

"This world’s tech surpasses ours, but it’s magic-less. Natives here can’t cultivate—they’re mostly ordinary. Their combat strength poses little threat. Still, their forbidden weaponry holds undeniable power."
