Chapter 47: Bullet Time
update icon Updated at 2026/1/17 4:30:02

The White Wolf gradually shrank, shifting back into the human form of the Saintess. Her snow-white feet lightly touched the black sand, jade arms lowering gently as she opened pitch-black eyes to gaze at Soulshadow Tianyou.

“Uh…”

Soulshadow Tianyou clicked her tongue, freezing mid-motion. Even the ample curves beneath her robe jiggled slightly as she stared, utterly dumbfounded.

This White Wolf Saintess—aside from the Ram Skull Mask atop her head—was completely naked.

Yet over her most sensitive areas, a hazy white glow floated, identical to the protective aura from her wolf form.

This veiled beauty only amplified her allure, radiating raw sensuality that sent jolts of visual pleasure through the beholder…

Though Soulshadow Tianyou wore the form of an exotic beauty, inside beat the heart of a young boy.

“Who the hell designed this boss?” she muttered under her breath. “This kind of fanservice could get the game banned by the government.”

“Human,” the White Wolf Saintess intoned, face utterly still, lips unmoving. Her voice echoed directly into Soulshadow Tianyou and Loli Monkey’s ears. “You are worthy of my full power.”

“Could you put some clothes on first…?” Soulshadow Tianyou deadpanned.

“But this ends now. The game is over.”

Bosses never listened—that was universal. Their lines were pre-scripted, ignoring player chatter with robotic indifference.

As she spoke, the Ram Skull Mask hovering above the Saintess’s head trembled, drawn by unseen force. It slowly slid down, concealing her flawless face. Twin crimson lights flared from the eyeholes as eerie black energy swirled around her.

The once-saintly maiden now radiated pure malice—naked, masked, a fanatic straight from a dark cult.

Ghostly black aura coiled around her like cosmic nebulae, coalescing into a towering silhouette behind her…

A hulking ram-headed figure—only its upper body materializing from the shadows.

“So this is your second phase?” Soulshadow Tianyou sneered coolly, gripping her Fangblade Shortsword. Her wolfskin cloak whipped in the wind. “Are you a Stand User?”

“Die, human.” The corrupted Saintess’s voice turned gravelly, dripping with murderous intent. Killing intent crashed over the battlefield like a physical wave.

Soulshadow Tianyou’s fingers brushed a blood vial—but after a pause, she tucked it away.

A drop or half a vial made no difference in a Hidden Map…

Tianyou and the Saintess stood locked in stalemate. Loli Monkey gripped her Little Golden Staff nearby, muscles tense.

The little monkey’s stats were monstrous—but she was still young. Without her master, she’d have died a dozen times over…

This fight transcended numbers. Weaklings would be erased by stray AoE blasts before they could blink.

...

Silence stretched.

*Whoosh!*

Soulshadow Tianyou struck first. A Poison Kunai flashed between her fingers—

Her wrist flicked. The blade became a silver streak aimed straight at the Saintess’s face.

The Saintess didn’t flinch. The ram-headed phantom behind her lashed out, fist intercepting the kunai mid-air.

*Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!*

But in the split-second distraction, three Poison Darts shot from blind spots behind the deflected kunai.

They pierced the Saintess’s body—

No. They passed *through*.

The Saintess hadn’t moved an inch. Yet her form blurred, sliding sideways with impossible physics, closing the distance to Tianyou in an instant.

Phantom afterimages trailed behind her. The real Saintess materialized at Tianyou’s left flank.

Every hair on Tianyou’s body stood rigid. Cold sweat poured down her spine. The enemy who’d been before her now multiplied into ghostly clones—while the true threat loomed at her blind spot.

The Saintess remained statue-still. But the ram-headed shadow behind her raised both fists, unleashing a storm of black punches toward Tianyou.

*Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud!*

A barrage of shadowy fists filled Tianyou’s vision.

Her violet pupils dilated, unblinking. Every nerve snapped taut—

Her body twisted, weaving through the deadly rain. Each punch whistled past her skin, missing by hairsbreadths.

To Tianyou’s hyper-focused senses, the enemy’s movements slowed to a crawl…

“This is bullet time…” Loli Monkey breathed from the sidelines.

In this hyper-real game world, victory wasn’t just about gear, skills, or technique. Something deeper decided battles:

Raw talent.

Reaction speed. Combat instinct. Eagle-eyed precision. Battlefield foresight.

Motion prediction. Bullet time.

These weren’t skills—they were innate gifts of elite players.

And her master? Not only did she possess god-tier gaming talent… but her concentration and mental fortitude seemed utterly inhuman.
