"So this short sword is just for decoration after all..." Soulshadow Tianyou smiled self-deprecatingly after reading the skill descriptions.
"Master, monsters are coming!" Loli Monkey whispered.
"Ah, the big monster’s out too. Things are looking bad."
Yet despite saying that, Soulshadow Tianyou wore a calm smile.
"Crash!" The dry well shattered instantly as the mid-boss trapped inside burst free. First, a giant rusted ship anchor shot skyward. Then, a massive deep-blue fishman erupted from the earth, screeching wildly.
The colossal fishman stood over four meters tall—many times larger than a regular Beachcomber—and far more vicious. Its true form was clearly a great white shark, not a piranha.
The humanoid statues around it crumbled completely. Alongside the original four Worshippers, six more spawned, totaling ten grotesque merfolk encircling the giant Beachcomber.
Hidden Elite Monster [Well Tyrant], Level 17. Description: A bloodline-mutated Beachcomber. Abandoned in this well as a juvenile, this powerful marine species grew too large to escape. It sleeps constantly but goes berserk when disturbed.
"Roar~~~~~~!" The Well Tyrant bellowed upward, fish head tilted high. It gripped the massive anchor tightly, jaws gaping wide at Soulshadow Tianyou and Loli Monkey, eyes blazing blood-red.
The Well Tyrant bent slightly, hoisting the anchor onto its shoulder. Its huge feet stomped the ground as it advanced step by step. Then it suddenly rampaged, swinging the anchor with pillar-thick arms. One Worshipper flew sideways, slamming into a wooden house wall and vanishing in a white flash.
"Crunch!" The Well Tyrant stomped another Worshipper flat underfoot.
Having asserted dominance, it stopped attacking its own. Its gaze locked back on the players. Two Worshippers were dead, but eight remained—hardly a difference.
"Master? How do we fight?" Loli Monkey asked anxiously.
"Can you hold the big monster?" Soulshadow Tianyou countered.
"Not a problem. I specialize in one-on-one combat. But those small monsters around it... we can’t dodge properly while surrounded." Loli Monkey paused, replying quietly.
"Leave the small monsters to me. Focus on this great white shark." Soulshadow Tianyou said confidently.
"Really?" Loli Monkey asked doubtfully.
"I’ll support you right after clearing them."
"Alright..."
Loli Monkey had many unspoken questions. Her master’s plan felt illogical. Normally, tanky classes would taunt all monsters first, clear the small ones, then focus the boss. Now they were splitting up—her against the boss, Tianyou handling adds. Groups of small monsters were often deadlier than bosses. And Tianyou lacked high defense or taunts; he’d struggle to hold aggro. During her fight, she’d be vulnerable to ambushes.
But her master had spoken. She had to obey.
"OK, Little Monkey understands. Go! Fight freely—ignore the small monsters!"
Soulshadow Tianyou sneered coldly, arms crossed. Three silver needles glinted between his left fingers; his right hand twirled a pitch-black Poison Kunai. His expression was icy.
"Roar!" The Well Tyrant charged fast. Hidden Maps defied game logic—they followed real-world rules. A giant anchor sweep would kill instantly. Here, it meant one-hit KO.
"Master, I’m going in."
Loli Monkey blinked forward, leaping straight at the Well Tyrant with her Golden Cudgel raised high.
But mid-jump, several Worshippers lunged at her.
In normal runs, this move was suicide—surrounded by boss and adds, death was certain.
At the last second, cold glints flashed. Needles struck the Worshippers’ heads precisely, knocking them off-balance mid-lunge. They crashed to the ground.
"What a bizarre class... but I like it."
Soulshadow Tianyou twirled his Poison Kunai deftly, an amused smile playing on his lips.
