"Hey, wake up."

I felt a hand patting my face as I slept deeply, someone calling me to rise.

"Mmm~" I slowly stirred from my slumber.

Blinking my blurry eyes open, I saw Li Xiaobai striking a cool thinker’s pose, smiling at me.

That mischievous grin made me suspect he’d pulled another prank. Had he done something awful while I slept?

"Xiaobai? You again… huh?"

I tried to sit up but found myself trapped—Moxiaoi clung to me like an octopus. Her small hands gripped my flat chest tightly, nearly popping the buttons off my nurse uniform.

Her petite chest pressed firmly against my back, her pale legs straddling my waist and squeezing my own legs.

I struggled slightly, but Moxiaoi’s arms tightened silently around me. I could feel her chest flattening against my back without even looking.

I’m a guy, after all—this kind of thing gets a reaction.

Was this the legendary "heaven behind, hell ahead"?

"Xiaobai~" I covered my skirt with both hands, blushing as I pleaded for help.

"Heh heh heh~" He chuckled, dropping his handsome thinker pose. His expression turned lewd, oozing with dirty laughter.

"Save me! Ah!" I kept wriggling to escape.

As if sensing her prey fleeing, the sleeping Moxiaoi hugged me tighter and, frowning, sank her teeth hard into my neck!

"Ah!" I yelped. It hurt! Blood welled up. This was deadly!

Even innocent me cursed aloud. Moxiaoi, what kind of awful sleeper are you? Biting people in your sleep?

"Heh heh heh~" Li Xiaobai kept laughing, making no move to help.

Moxiaoi slowly woke up. "Mmm? Huh?" She released my neck, rubbing her eyes drowsily.

"Damn—Woman Face, why’s your face so close? Trying to take advantage?" Spotting herself plastered against me, she jerked away.

"Ugh… ugh…" I stayed silent, hurt. I touched the tooth marks on my neck and curled up, wincing.

"Haha~" Li Xiaobai burst out laughing.

"Huh? Woman Face, what’s wrong? Huh?" Seeing the bite marks, Moxiaoi froze, realization dawning.

"He was violated by you."

"Oh no~"

"Ugh… ugh…"

"While you slept, you groped Donghui head to toe—every pinchable spot. Then you bit her hard. Your sleeping habits are terrible." Li Xiaobai resumed his thinker pose, exaggerating slightly.

"Oh no~" She gasped, face flushing. She helped me up, awkwardly soothing me. "Sorry… Woman Face. P-please forgive me."

"I… I’m fine," I replied tearfully.

"You should take responsibility—marry her!"

"Shut up!" Moxiaoi snapped at Li Xiaobai.

"Heh~ Alright, ladies, enough fooling around. Let’s move." Xiaobai stood, grinning at us.

"Huh… Woman Face, let’s get up." She lifted me gently, unusually tender—probably guilty over her shameless acts.

Still, that "Woman Face" nickname stung.

"I’m fine. Let’s go." I took her hand and followed them out of the ward.

My wristband showed two hours left. Game time: 14 hours 30 minutes remaining.

"We slept four hours," I rubbed my eyes, then touched the bite on my neck again.

"Did anyone come by while we slept?" Moxiaoi avoided my gaze, asking Xiaobai instead.

"Two groups passed, but didn’t spot us."

"Where are they now? Gone?"

"Gone. Probably headed downstairs."

"So this floor’s empty?"

"…" Li Xiaobai paused. "No. I sense one person still here."

"Huh? One person?" I asked, startled.

"He’s been here since you fell asleep. Four hours." Xiaobai’s tone turned grim.

"…" Moxiaoi stayed silent, thinking.

"Ah! That’s terrifying." I shivered.

"In the room ahead." Xiaobai pointed to a ward down the hall.

"…"

Moxiaoi and I stared at the door. The air grew thick and eerie.

We reached it but hesitated to open it.

"What now?" I asked anxiously.

"Must be a special contestant," Xiaobai said. "I’ll open it. After all those traps, better safe than sorry." He pushed the door open.

Pitch darkness inside.

"So dark."

Xiaobai tugged my sleeve and lit a lighter. The room’s layout came into view—and we all sucked in sharp breaths.

"Now I know where that pervert William got so many bear traps," Xiaobai muttered darkly.

"What do we do? Save them?" I whispered weakly.

The ward matched others in size but held no bed, making it spacious. At the far end, a mummy-like figure lay bound in ragged bandages on a table. Most horrifying were the floor—packed edge to edge with bear traps, gaps barely wide enough for tiptoes.

"What now? Really save them?" Xiaobai echoed my question, clearly unsure.

"Not advising it. Too dangerous," Moxiaoi said coldly. "But if you insist, I won’t stop you. I’m not moving."

"Huh, so I…..."

"I’ll do it!"

"Donghui?" Xiaobai stared, shocked.

"I can’t always rely on you two. It’s my turn."

"Donghui, think! One slip and those traps’ll grind you to paste!" He waved his arms frantically.

"Give me the lighter."

"Donghui!" He tried to dissuade me.

"Hand it over," Moxiaoi said flatly.

"You two!" Xiaobai groaned, conflicted. He sighed. "Fine. Take it." He passed me the lighter.

"I’m going."

"…Be careful," Xiaobai said, worry etched on his face—clearly lying about not caring.

"I will."

At the trap-filled threshold, I lit the lighter.

"Whoa… so dense! Sick trap design… ah, my skirt’s too short." I rose onto my tiptoes, stepping carefully between the jaws.

I crept toward the end.

"Ah… this is actually scary."

Midway, bear traps surrounded me on all sides. Tiptoeing was exhausting.

"But no turning back now."

No use overthinking. Forward was the only way.

"Donghui, be careful!" Xiaobai called from behind. He sounded like my mom.

"…" Moxiaoi leaned against the doorframe, compound bow raised, eyes fixed on me with quiet concern.

"Ah… can’t let my teammates down." I turned back with resolve and pressed on.

"Careful… careful… hurry up," I mumbled to myself.

Almost there. The lighter burned hot in my hand.

One meter left—made it!

I leaped onto the safe patch beside the mummy.

"Hey! You okay?" I pulled out scissors to cut the bandages. Lifting the figure, I felt no movement—just cold stillness.

"Huh?" Xiaobai’s puzzled voice cut through from the door.

"Donghui, leave him! He’s dead…!" he shouted next. "Run back! People coming! Moxiaoi, on guard!"

"Huh?" I yelped, dropping the corpse. Panicked, I spotted a water bottle on the floor and grabbed it before retracing my steps.

"Three people approaching," Moxiaoi stated coldly, bow aimed at the shadows.
