When did they appear? I didn’t sense them at all.
Su Fangwen stared in shock at the mysterious figures who’d suddenly materialized. She examined them carefully. Both wore full black robes. Their wide hoods hid everything but dark voids. Neither was tall—the left one slightly shorter, the right slightly taller. Most unsettling was their silent presence, radiating a deathly, oppressive aura.
A little scared, Su Fangwen shrank back. She glanced at Yan Lingxuan ahead but couldn’t see his face—he was turned away.
Yan Lingxuan remained crouched, unmoving. Still, Su Fangwen quickly stood from the swing. She placed the half-finished iced tea can on the seat. Ready to run or fight.
“Heh heh…”
Seeing Su Fangwen flustered, the right figure let out an eerie laugh.
That malicious chuckle sent chills down her spine. Her throat tightened.
“What’s so funny?”
Yan Lingxuan’s casual question shattered the garden’s eerie tension.
“Are you Mages?”
Yan Lingxuan asked. He rose from his crouch. Standing, he towered half a head over Su Fangwen.
Facing Yan Lingxuan—hands in pockets, relaxed yet questioning—the two robed figures exchanged uneasy glances. *He’s way too calm. Director, this isn’t the script. How do we act now…?*
“What now? Keep going?”
“Of course! We’re evil Mages passing by. Grab that girl first, then see how her brother reacts…”
“Will this work…?”
“Trust my script. It’ll be fine…”
Bai Lingyue whispered to Katherine, thrown off by the unexpected turn. They’d turned away to plan quietly.
Done plotting, they spun back to resume their “evil Mage” act—starting with capturing the girl. But Yan Lingxuan’s face was inches from theirs.
“Huh…?”
Startled, they leaped back like threatened animals, putting distance between them.
“What is this?” Su Fangwen muttered. She’d snapped out of the creepy mood. She’d clearly heard their plan to grab her—yet felt zero fear now. Seriously, where’d this black comedy come from?
“Hey! Why so close?!”
The right robed figure spoke. How did Su Fangwen know it was a girl? That sweet, girlish voice—no guy could fake it.
While the right figure panicked, the shorter left one stayed calmer. She stepped back just once, then stood firm—shielding her companion.
“Sniff…”
Yan Lingxuan flared his nostrils. He inhaled deeply where they’d stood. Then he stared at them, eyes wide and serious.
“What body wash is that? Smells amazing!”
Bai Lingyue frowned at Yan Lingxuan’s lecherous grin. He’d complimented her scent—but she was annoyed anyway.
“Heh heh…”
Yan Lingxuan’s mouth twisted into a creepy smile. He stepped closer, eyes blazing with heat.
“Don’t come near!” Katherine squeaked, hiding fully behind Bai Lingyue.
“What are they doing?” Shan Xi muttered from the classroom window, arms crossed.
Su Fangwen facepalmed, rolling her eyes. So embarrassing. Just as she moved to stop Yan Lingxuan’s spiraling antics—he struck first.
As Yan Lingxuan neared, a slender, flawless arm emerged from the robe. Pale, smooth skin—undeniably a girl’s arm! On a scale of 100, he instantly scored it 99. Perfect. He drooled.
The palm faced him.
“Don’t move closer!”
Before savoring that sweet voice, Yan Lingxuan’s vision blurred. His body went limp.
Huh? Why’s my face on the ground? Did I fall…?!
He blacked out. But just before losing consciousness, his upturned eyes caught a glimpse under the hood—a face with violet-glowing pupils.
“Did I hit too hard?”
“Relax… he’s probably not dead… heh.”
Katherine nudged Yan Lingxuan’s head—he was embedded in a human-shaped hole. No response.
…
…
Yan Lingxuan had a nice dream. Lying in bed, he refused to open his eyes early. Great. A little more sleep. Rare to wake before the alarm clock’s nagging.
As usual, the sleepy Yan Lingxuan stretched his arms wide. But his right hand touched something… soft? Warm? Yan Jiajing’s new stray pet?
That girl was too kind. She’d bring home any street animal. Recently, she’d tried adopting a 20-kilo Xiang pig—her foster parents blocked it. She’d reluctantly sent it to a shelter. A middle-schooler—was she childish or just overflowing with love? Her kindness never included her foster brother, Yan Lingxuan.
He remembered little Jiajing clinging to him, always chirping “Brother” this and “Brother” that. He’d teased her as “Little Monster,” making her pout. When did she grow distant? Had she noticed him peering down her collar, judging her bra styles for “hotness points”?
To confirm what he touched, Yan Lingxuan gently squeezed the soft thing. It had warmth and moved nervously under his palm. Definitely Jiajing’s new pet? But… do pets wear clothes?
“How long will you keep groping…?”
A girl’s voice—sweet and sultry!
Yan Lingxuan snapped his eyes open. His gaze locked onto a golden-haired, blue-eyed beauty.
Her face was flushed crimson, apple-red and lovely. He spotted three others by his bed: one guy, two girls.
The guy? Ignored. One girl was Su Fangwen. The other—a silver-haired beauty! The face from under the hood before he fainted. His twin sister.
“Bai Lingyue?”
The silver-haired girl nodded.
Yan Lingxuan beamed sincerely. But her eyes…? Pure disgust, like spotting a cockroach. Su Fangwen glared hotly too. And why was that guy turned away?
“Can you let go now?!”
Yan Lingxuan followed the golden girl’s words to his hand. Ah. Yes. This was indeed a perfectly shaped, vital female part—essential for human reproduction. Kids blessed by it would thrive. Slightly envious, Yan Lingxuan squeezed it again.
The blushing golden girl stood up, raising her hand.
Yan Lingxuan saw a pale palm rushing toward his face…
