“You want to challenge the power of the Calamity Dragon too? With only Chapter Three strength?”
Azure’s gaze fell upon Moon Owl. Moon Owl knew her current strength was hardly worth mentioning. She couldn’t defeat the people before her, but when it came to running away, she was second to none.
“Crack!”
Just as everyone’s eyes turned toward Moon Owl, a tearing sound came from the Calamity Dragon’s most vulnerable abdomen.
The Calamity Dragon’s body began to shake violently. Everyone looked over in unison and saw a deep-blue Monster with wings. It looked terribly weak, yet it was chewing on the flesh beneath the Calamity Dragon’s inverted scales.
“After being altered into this state, there’s no way to take it back. So why not let me have it?”
Li Dogegg muttered to itself. Then it sensed a pair of huge hands reaching toward it.
It went with the pull and returned to Night Frost’s familiar space.
“Since you’re all here, then stay here forever!”
Azure rose into the air with the Calamity Dragon. The Black Flame remaining within the dragon’s body wrapped around her Magic Cannon and swept toward everyone on the ground.
It seemed she had no intention of letting this troublesome group escape.
Moon Owl stretched out her hand and dragged the four people around her into the void behind her.
The Guardian of the Seventh District tore open the void and followed them. In an instant, everyone arrived at the Fourth District’s shelter.
Night Frost had set up a Formation here. They wouldn’t be able to find this place for the time being.
“Your plan has failed. You should return to the Twelfth District.”
“The Fourth District and the Seventh District have sent armies of controlled civilians toward the Twelfth District. The Twelfth District hasn’t finished preparing its defenses yet.”
“The Twelfth District needs you.”
Moon Owl looked toward Crimson, Night Frost, and the Zone Fifteen Guardian. They were all nearly at their limits and couldn’t keep fighting.
The Guardian of the Seventh District and Azure were far stronger than they had imagined. For now, Moon Owl believed that lying low was the best choice.
Crimson and Night Frost thought the same. They would return to the Twelfth District first, then decide what to do next.
Through their actions, Night Frost and the others had proven that Azure’s Ultimates, empowered by borrowed strength, were not impossible to defeat.
The same trick wouldn’t work twice, but at least there was hope.
Wasn’t there?
“You’re hiding here?”
A pair of sharp scissors sliced through space. A figure in a trench coat stepped out from the void.
“How did you get here so quickly?!”
Moon Owl’s eyes narrowed. She flung the dagger in her palm behind her.
“Scanning the traces in space was enough. No matter how well your Formation blocks out your aura, it can’t block the fluctuations in space, right?”
“Besides, that dragon has a very sensitive nose.”
After hearing this, Night Frost touched the heart in her chest. Moon Owl carefully concealed the spatial fluctuations she had left behind.
They hadn’t even warmed their seats before the Guardian of the Seventh District caught up.
Moon Owl gritted her teeth and dragged everyone into the void again. But she discovered that the Guardian of the Seventh District had already laid a vast net inside it.
Layer upon layer of space had been stacked together. As a result, Moon Owl couldn’t instantly create an exit.
Perhaps the Guardian of the Seventh District wasn’t as skilled in controlling space as Moon Owl.
But her realm was high enough to make up for everything.
As the saying went, overwhelming strength could break through any obstacle. As long as one’s realm was high enough, even stubborn space could be pried apart with ease.
“This battlefield isn’t bad. But this place…”
The Guardian of the Seventh District clicked her tongue.
“If Azure wants to come here, I’m afraid that dragon won’t be able to follow.”
She raised her hand and drove Moon Owl’s group out of the space.
Everyone returned to the border of the Fourth District. Once again, they saw the enormous creature soaring through the sky.
The Guardian of the Seventh District then swung her sword at everyone present.
Only the combined efforts of Illusory Glass and Crimson barely managed to block it.
“Breaking through all these layers of overlapping space will take time.”
“We’ll buy you that time.”
Crimson and Night Frost moved to the front line. Although they had almost no Mana left, buying a little time was still possible.
“Let’s divide the work the same way as before.”
Night Frost charged forward first. She chanted a Magic Spell, and wings woven from CrimsonGoldFlame spread open behind her.
Then she hurled a Spear at Azure.
“Come and get me!”
Night Frost shouted toward the sky before fleeing rapidly toward the city center.
She had thought of something that could help her deal with the altered Calamity Dragon before her.
But Azure didn’t take the bait.
Instead, she stood atop the Calamity Dragon’s head and calmly watched Night Frost’s clownish display.
Night Frost threw out another Spear.
Azure answered with a simulated Black Dragon’s breath, as if Night Frost were the only one with ranged attacks.
This was troublesome.
The enemy wouldn’t take the bait, and there wasn’t even the slightest chance of winning in a direct battle.
It seemed this arduous mission could only be handed over to Li Dogegg.
“Li Dogegg, you can go!”
Li Dogegg was lying inside the space, digesting the piece of flesh it had just torn from its original body.
It raised its confused eyes.
It really wanted to fight, but the flesh still contained a huge amount of Mana and Abyssal Aura. Digesting it would take quite some time.
Yet with no other choice, it could only crawl out of the familiar space.
It beat its wings, which were far too thin and weak compared to the Calamity Dragon’s.
Then it charged at the enormous creature before it.
A single slap sent it crashing into the ground.
Night Frost, following behind Li Dogegg, pressed a hand to her forehead.
The Magic Stone in the Calamity Dragon’s throat shattered. A scorching flame burst from the broken Magic Stone.
Night Frost manipulated the CrimsonGoldFlame around her and raised a wall of fire.
…
Illusory Glass placed her hand on Moon Owl and granted her the blessing of time.
The fivefold acceleration greatly increased Moon Owl’s speed in breaking through the overlapping space.
“The flow of time here… seems much faster than before. It’s also far easier!”
This was Illusory Glass’s first time using time magic in another space.
She could feel that, compared to the outside, time magic was much more effective here. It also consumed far less Mana.
“Perhaps here…”
She hesitated, then continued, “Sis, can you create a tiny space for me? One just large enough to wrap around my body?”
Moon Owl didn’t know what Illusory Glass wanted to do, but she still created the space for her.
It was only one cubic meter in size, precisely meeting Illusory Glass’s request.
The space here was smaller than the space outside. That made it possible to create a greater difference in the flow of time.
Of course, the flow of time inside and outside was currently still one-to-one.
The Time Temple had given Illusory Glass many possible futures.
But she felt that this was the place where she had the greatest chance of ascending to Chapter Three.
“Fivefold time.”
Illusory Glass applied the flow of time within the space. A slight difference emerged between the outside world and the space within.
Moon Owl, who had been breaking through the overlapping space outside, suddenly looked toward the cube she had created for Illusory Glass.
The space she had created was slipping out of her control.
“Tenfold time.”
At that moment, the Magic Stone belonging to Illusory Glass floated into the air.
The Time Temple, which had been dormant within the Magic Stone, slowly expanded the space Illusory Glass had created and settled behind Moon Owl.
Moon Owl felt the surrounding space begin to churn. It showed faint signs of shattering.
She had no idea what Illusory Glass had done, but the disturbance was enormous.
Moon Owl could only seal the space as tightly as possible, preventing the people outside from discovering what was happening within.
Once the Time Temple settled into place, the enormous eye at the center of the clock slowly opened.
As its hands spun faster and faster, the flow of time in the surrounding space accelerated continuously.
For a moment, Moon Owl and Illusory Glass inside the space felt dizzy and light-headed.
Moon Owl seemed to realize that the problem lay with this space.
She imitated the overlapping space and created layer after layer of space to resist time’s erosion.
Sure enough, the farther they were from that layer of space, the more the dizziness gradually faded.
“Wait. Wasn’t I supposed to break through the overlapping space?”
“Why am I stacking more space on myself?”
“Wait… overlapping… stacking…”
“I understand now!”
Why bother moving the stacked layers of space aside one by one?
Since this was a type of overlapping space, she could transform it into continuous space and then unfold it.
“This world is part of the overlapping space. The Abyss is also part of the overlapping space.”
“The overlapping space before us is merely a miniature reflection of these two worlds.”
“The overlap between the two worlds is growing stronger. The places where they collide form the Abyssal Rifts…”
Moon Owl continued stacking space.
Hundreds of layers of overlapping space collided with one another and began compressing continuously.
In the end, those spaces collapsed and returned to the original One.
“Space can be stacked. Once it reaches a certain degree, it undergoes a qualitative change.”
“And the final layer of space left behind…”
Moon Owl reached out and pierced a hole through the spatial barrier of the main world.
Then she placed the overlapping space she had created onto it.
Although the newly born space was extremely fragile, it miraculously fused perfectly with the main world’s spatial barrier.
“Space Restoration!”
Everyone knew that, until now, the locations where Abyssal Rifts appeared had never truly been restored.
They had only been patched up.
The Cube Girl had used Mana to forcefully stitch the ruptured space together.
Although she had sealed the rifts, she had also caused irreversible damage to the space.
But now, Moon Owl had found a way to restore space.
At some point, the dagger in Moon Owl’s palm began to shine.
Lines of text, resembling Magic Spell incantations, appeared from thin air.
Moon Owl’s gaze was drawn to the sudden light. She identified the words one by one.
The text seemed to contain unknown Mana. It dragged her soul into the Magic Stone before her.
“This is the space inside the Magic Stone?”
If Moon Owl’s guess was correct, the spiraling layers of overlapping space before her formed the interior of the Magic Stone.
The space here was even more profound than the one she had created.
Moon Owl’s soul traveled through the spiraling, overlapping space.
Before long, she reached the end of that spiral.
There was nothing inside, but the Mana contained within was several times denser than the Mana outside.
“When space overlaps, it can withstand higher-level Mana.”
Outside, Moon Owl began constructing a spiral space inside her own body.
The Mana in her body flowed through the spiral space, strand by strand, reaching its deepest point.
It seemed endless.
“There’s not enough time.”
Moon Owl’s soul returned to her body.
She observed the spiral and Mana within her body. Once the spiral space inside her was filled with Mana, she would take a crucial step toward the Ultimate realm.
“Space is king, while time is sovereign.”
“The two naturally complement each other.”
Before Moon Owl, the layers of overlapping space were pushed apart.
A tall girl stepped through the void and slowly walked up to Moon Owl.
Then she opened the pages of the book before her.
“To welcome the possible future awaiting you.”
