“A new… Order.”
Just as Night Frost was trying to remember where she had heard those words, the woman slammed both hands into her chest.
Night Frost failed to react in time. The blow sent her sprawling to the floor.
The Eye Orb was just about to speak when he noticed the woman’s body turning illusory, as if she might vanish at any moment.
Li Dogegg suddenly burst in through the door. He glanced at Night Frost lying on the floor, then at the woman before him.
“I know you. You’re…”
Before Li Dogegg could finish, the woman before him vanished completely, without leaving a trace.
Li Dogegg was left standing there in a daze. A shattered scroll had appeared in his hand.
The Eye Orb leaped onto Night Frost and examined her condition. He soon discovered that she wasn’t seriously hurt.
The massive amount of Mana that had surged into her body in an instant hadn’t been processed in time. That was what caused her unconsciousness.
In other words, Night Frost would wake up once she dealt with that foreign Mana.
That counted as good news.
Li Dogegg flew over to the Eye Orb and shoved the scroll into his hand.
The Eye Orb didn’t understand Array Patterns very well, but he knew one thing clearly. The level of completion on this scroll wasn’t something ordinary elves could achieve.
This scroll belonged to the Elderly Elf.
He had no idea why the Elderly Elf had planted a scroll beside them. Regardless, she definitely hadn’t meant well.
So the Eye Orb put the scroll into his spatial storage—the place he considered safest.
As for Night Frost, neither Li Dogegg nor the Eye Orb had the strength to carry her by themselves. Nor could they leave the underground alone.
This divination shop and the space beneath it were their only home.
Li Dogegg was a little stronger. With the Eye Orb’s help, he barely managed to carry Night Frost to the rug in the corner.
That way, she wouldn’t catch a chill.
The Eye Orb had medicine, and Night Frost was a member of [Cantata Two]. She wouldn’t fall ill so easily.
Still, it was better to prevent trouble before it happened.
“Judging by your reaction just now, you seem to know that woman?”
The Eye Orb looked toward Li Dogegg.
Li Dogegg had once been the Calamity Dragon. He was a Calamity Dragon who practically never left the house.
Yet he actually knew a few people.
And anyone acquainted with the Calamity Dragon couldn’t possibly be simple.
“She is one of the highest dragonkind in this world,” Li Dogegg said. “The pinnacle of the dragon race. An ancient sage who has lived for hundreds of thousands of years…”
“The Dragon of Prophecy, bearing the title of Prophecy.”
The Eye Orb froze for a moment, then began sorting through the knowledge in his mind.
Li Dogegg had mentioned the Dragon of Prophecy before.
She was one of the strongest beings on this continent. Her title stood on equal footing with that of the Calamity Dragon.
She was a genuine Myth.
If that was the case, then what the woman had said to Night Frost just now hadn’t been a divination.
It had been a prophecy.
Whether it was true or false, it was worth examining carefully.
“The only thing we need to hold on to is time, Calamity, and…”
“Those three words are all closely connected to Night Frost.”
“Time refers to Illusory Glass, that adorable little girl. She said she kept reincarnating in search of a way to survive.”
“Calamity refers to the heart of the Calamity Dragon that I implanted in Night Frost.”
“That heart possesses tremendous potential for growth. As Night Frost continues to grow stronger, it is turning her into a new Calamity Dragon.”
But none of that explained anything.
It only proved that the calamity brought by the Calamity Dragon couldn’t be saved by repeated cycles of time.
Only Night Frost could destroy the calamity and rebuild a new Order.
“Wait… Order…”
That name sounded incredibly familiar.
Crimson had once told her that two additional members had joined her team.
One was called Death.
The other was known as…
Order.
If the Order here was the same as the girl who bore the name Order, then Night Frost was connected to that missing girl in some crucial way.
“I think I’ve seen the truth,” the Eye Orb murmured, “but I’m not sure about any of this.”
He had formed a theory, but he didn’t intend to pursue it any further.
It was difficult to imagine that even miracles could be created by human hands.
That everything, from beginning to end, had been arranged by someone else.
Night Frost had returned here once again.
This pure-white space.
No matter how loudly she shouted here, no one would hear her.
No one would answer.
There was only loneliness here.
Endless loneliness.
Night Frost had actually begun to miss the darkness where the Calamity Dragon existed.
At least there was another dragon there to argue with her.
Night Frost awoke within the white space.
She remembered chatting with a female diviner moments ago. But before they had spoken for long, the woman suddenly reached out her hand.
Her memories had broken off at that instant.
Night Frost had no idea what happened afterward.
Someone had struck her, but she hadn’t even realized when it happened.
Now, her consciousness had appeared here. There was no doubt that her body outside was unconscious.
She didn’t want to make the Eye Orb and the others worry, so Night Frost planned to find a way out of this place and wake up as soon as possible.
She decided to walk around first and see whether there was any way to awaken from the white space.
As she wandered, Night Frost couldn’t help recalling the divination the woman had given her.
To be honest, she didn’t believe it.
But she did harbor a trace of doubt.
They had never met before.
So why could that woman describe Night Frost’s entire life perfectly?
Was it magic?
Night Frost hadn’t sensed the slightest fluctuation of Mana from her.
There was only one possibility.
The woman’s strength far surpassed Night Frost’s own.
If that was true, then the woman probably had no real hostility toward her.
If she had wanted Night Frost dead, Night Frost would have died already.
Was killing a member of [Cantata Two] really that difficult?
Just from that point alone, Night Frost began to suspect that the prophecy might actually be true.
“Eh—”
As Night Frost pondered, her foot suddenly slipped.
She fell flat onto the ground.
Everything here was white, and she had been too absorbed in her thoughts to watch where she was going.
Thud!
She hit the ground hard.
“Ow, ow, ow…”
Night Frost rubbed her gray-white hair.
Wait…
Gray-white?
This was her consciousness. She hadn’t changed her appearance here.
Her hair should have been black.
Was it Mana?
But where could Mana come from in this place?
Night Frost looked toward the ground.
The only explanation was that she had touched the floor when she fell.
She had come into contact with Mana.
And here, that Mana had transformed into mental energy and acted upon her consciousness.
“This is…”
Night Frost gently placed her palm against the ground.
Fine lines broke through the white radiance and appeared before her eyes.
It was a Formation.
An enormous, incredibly complex Formation.
It was flawless.
It was even more profound than the Formation created by the Elderly Elf.
A single glance was enough to make Night Frost’s vision swim.
Invisible knowledge surged into her mind in an instant, making her drowsy.
Night Frost hurriedly shook her head and forced all that knowledge back out.
The moment she saw the Formation, she understood.
Even if she spent more than a decade studying it with everything she knew, she might not achieve any results.
Leaving this place directly was practically impossible.
Unless she waited until her body awakened and pulled this part of her consciousness back.
Even so, Night Frost decided to try.
She first planned to carve as much of the Array Pattern into her mind as possible.
Then she could bring it back outside and find someone to decipher it.
But why did this place seem so familiar?
The complicated Array Patterns and the pure-white space easily reminded Night Frost of the white sphere she had seen in the center of her chest.
She had seen it when the flesh of her chest had been carved away.
After rolling across the ground a couple of times, Night Frost could sense that this place was actually inside a sphere.
“So I came to the inside of the sphere in the center of my chest after falling unconscious?”
Her own guess startled Night Frost.
But after thinking about it, too many strange things had already happened to her.
A few more didn’t really matter.
“No… Something’s wrong.”
“This place is clearly sealed. Mana shouldn’t be able to enter it at all.”
“Then where did this Mana come from?”
The Mana within the Array Patterns formed a self-sustaining cycle.
A perfect Formation like this couldn’t allow Mana to leak out.
That made the origin of this Mana all the more suspicious.
Night Frost didn’t know how she had fallen unconscious.
She could only guess that the woman had struck her.
If that was true, then had the woman’s attack cracked open the sealed sphere inside Night Frost’s body?
If so, there had to be cracks nearby.
Part of the Mana circulating within Night Frost’s body must have slipped inside.
The moment it came into contact with her consciousness, it transformed into mental energy.
There had to be cracks here!
Night Frost took two steps forward.
She moved carefully while studying the Array Patterns around her.
Soon, she discovered that the patterns were changing.
She hadn’t been walking in circles.
After wandering for an unknown amount of time, Night Frost finally sensed dense Mana ahead.
That had to be a crack in the sphere.
She walked several steps forward.
The white radiance gradually faded.
As expected, the space before her was covered in countless cracks.
Mana from outside was desperately forcing its way into the sphere.
At the same time, the white light inside the sphere was desperately pushing outward.
As the two forces collided, the cracks began spreading in crooked directions.
Night Frost wanted to pry off one of the fragments and take a look.
But the piece didn’t budge at all.
Even though it had cracked open, it still wasn’t something Night Frost could break.
Night Frost silently memorized the nearby Array Patterns as best she could.
Then she leaped into the crack before her, facing the surging Mana.
Her consciousness returned to her mind.
Night Frost slowly awakened.
“This is…”
Her memories gradually returned.
Night Frost recognized the interior of the divination shop.
She narrowed her eyes and looked around.
The Eye Orb and Li Dogegg were nearby.
“You’re awake?”
The Eye Orb came to Night Frost’s side.
Night Frost asked softly, “How long was I unconscious?”
“Not very long. Three or four hours.”
The Eye Orb estimated the time and told her.
Night Frost held her head and slowly sat up.
She immediately had the Eye Orb project a light screen.
Then she copied the incredibly complicated Array Patterns from her memory onto it.
“What’s this?”
Even the Eye Orb found the Array Patterns difficult to process.
Just looking at them was enough to give him a headache.
This seemed to be only one section of a Formation.
And even that section was incomplete.
“These are the Array Patterns I saw while I was unconscious,” Night Frost said. “I copied them down.”
Night Frost told the Eye Orb her guess.
That space and the white sphere inside her body were probably the same thing.
The Eye Orb also told Night Frost his own theory.
He informed her about the Dragon of Prophecy as well.
“I think I understand now…”
Night Frost said those words quietly.
