“The meat of this giant serpent seems to have medicinal properties… But its air sacs need to be cut out. The air sacs don’t seem edible.”

The Eye Orb studied the uses of this section of the giant serpent’s body. However, this was a creature it had encountered for the first time, and the lack of suitable references made its research rather difficult.

After discussing it with Night Frost, the Eye Orb helped dismember the tail. They roasted it over a fire for a while, until the rich aroma of meat filled the air. Night Frost then cut off a small piece and stuffed it into Li Dogegg’s mouth.

When Li Dogegg showed no reaction, Night Frost felt reassured and ate a small portion herself. As expected of a Chapter Three Monster’s meat, it could actually purify the Mana within her body after being eaten.

The effect was minimal, but it still had some use.

Night Frost also air-dried some of the snake meat into jerky for storage. When she couldn’t hold out any longer, she could chew on a few pieces.

After stuffing everything into her spatial storage, Night Frost led the Eye Orb and Li Dogegg over the huge pit created by the serpent.

It was their first time setting foot on the land of Myth.

Three suns, each as large as a battle drum, hung in the sky. They roasted the air until it was scorching hot. Cold seawater crashed against the shore, while the pure-white steam was scattered by the sunlight before it could drift very far.

The blazing sunlight spilled across the beach. The heat made the Eye Orb dehydrate at an alarming rate, so Night Frost had no choice but to bury it in a pile of sand filled with water.

Only then did the Eye Orb feel a little better.

Li Dogegg had just left the cave. After flying two laps outside, it was already drenched in sweat.

Perhaps today wasn’t a good day to go out?

It crawled back into the pit, but before it had gone far, Night Frost dragged it out again.

On the beach, a group of conchs lined up in a row. They clung to the sand and the cliff walls.

Seabirds and Monsters occasionally flew over. Using their sharp beaks, they pecked open the conchs on the ground.

Who could have expected that the surface of these conchs wasn’t solid?

The birds’ beaks pierced through the transparent shell. Liquid shot out from inside, covering the birds that had broken through.

The slime-like liquid writhed and surged. It poured into the creatures’ bodies through every opening, leaving no gap untouched.

Only after the seabirds had lost all their strength were they chewed clean by the creatures inside the conch shells.

The crisp sound of bones snapping echoed in Night Frost’s ears.

Then came another crack.

And another.

The successive sounds made everyone’s skin crawl.

Night Frost looked at the beach beside her feet. There seemed to be a conch with a similar shape there as well.

She hurriedly stepped back, wanting nothing to do with that thing.

“What a bizarre creature…”

Night Frost avoided the group of conchs. She picked up the Eye Orb and Li Dogegg, intending to leave this cursed place.

But before they had gone very far, a tremendous boom came from ahead and to the right.

Not far away stood a cliff covered in moss, with a few scattered plants growing upon it. Emerald-green trees suddenly burst through the hard soil and stone.

In an instant, they grew into a towering forest.

The forest swayed gently. The rustling leaves intertwined into a strange melody, as if whispering:

Come here. Come here~

Tempting fruits grew on the trees. They were crystal-clear and mouthwatering.

The wind carried their sweet fragrance across the entire beach, luring in every creature scorched by the sun.

Li Dogegg caught the scent. Its soul seemed to be dragged away, and its body was pulled forward inch by inch.

Night Frost drew her Spear and slammed the shaft against its head. That brought it back to its senses.

“I know these things. They’re delicious…”

Night Frost suspected that this fellow still wasn’t fully awake.

However, Li Dogegg stopped moving. It seemed to have regained consciousness, yet what it said left Night Frost utterly confused.

“I eat these fruits every day. There are plenty of them in the forest near my home. They taste good, and they’re perfectly safe…”

Night Frost looked Li Dogegg up and down.

This thing was no longer a Calamity Dragon. If it had been as powerful as before, eating whatever it wanted wouldn’t have mattered.

But now, it was merely a weakling from the First Symphony.

At best, it was food for the others.

The group circled the sandy island several times, but found no other passage.

The Eye Orb had originally seen an endless coastline. Now, however, the island floated alone in the middle of the ocean, baking beneath the suns.

This place was truly remote.

The Eye Orb didn’t believe its records could be wrong. According to its memories, this place should have been part of an uninterrupted coastline, not an isolated island.

There was something strange about this place…

The waves gradually calmed, but the forest did not.

It continued expanding outward until it reached the boundary between the beach and the rocky ground. Only then did it slowly come to a stop.

If the sand hadn’t blocked it, would this thing have continued growing without limit?

Night Frost hadn’t taken more than two steps when a green branch shot out from the forest.

It rushed straight toward the center of her brow like a snake.

Flames ignited in Night Frost’s palm just in time. The branch immediately changed direction and lunged toward the Eye Orb and Li Dogegg.

It was far faster than Night Frost could run.

Night Frost raised her hand. Flames traveled along the branch from its roots, burning toward the tip.

The branch began to writhe. Before long, it was reduced to ashes.

Night Frost hurriedly led the others backward.

This forest was strange as well.

“Stay away from here!”

Night Frost stomped on the ground.

Flames rose from the earth. The branches and vines surging toward them were all blocked by her wall of fire.

Amid the crackling flames, the vines went limp and fell to the ground.

Night Frost and the others returned to the underground cavern. From there, they could hear waves crashing against the reefs.

It sounded as if the sea were right before their eyes.

Everything here was far too strange.

“It seems this place has been isolated.”

The Eye Orb compared the scene with its information. Its recordings couldn’t possibly be wrong…

Could Night Frost and the others have been hallucinating after eating the snake meat?

The Eye Orb hadn’t eaten any of it, so it couldn’t have been affected by the hallucination. Nor could it have fallen into an illusion because of the giant serpent’s deep-green mist.

That left only one possibility.

The island itself had been affected by some unknown force, cutting it off from the outside world.

The sound of the wind moving across the waves grew clearer.

Night Frost, the Eye Orb, and Li Dogegg sat at the edge of the cavern and observed everything around them. Yet they still found nothing.

Then they could only wait here…

Night Frost suggested it to the others. No one objected.

This place was simply too bizarre. One careless mistake could cost them their lives. If Night Frost hadn’t reacted quickly just now, the Eye Orb and Li Dogegg would have died inside the plants’ mouths.

The first sun moved quickly and was soon about to set.

The scorching ground became much colder. The forests on both sides rapidly withered and shrank as the sun disappeared, leaving behind only a small clump on the cliff wall.

The second sun set as well.

The nearby conchs seemed to sense the approaching chill. One after another, they leaped into the sea.

The surrounding seawater receded. From the depths of the ocean came a series of muffled sounds that Night Frost and the others couldn’t make out.

Then the landmasses on both sides slowly rose into the air, as if lifted by a miracle.

The Eye Orb looked around and sighed at the wonders of Myth.

The suns determined the living conditions of some Monsters. They caused man-eating vegetation to cover cliffs that had once been bare, and allowed unknown Monsters to land on the beach.

Even their rising and setting could make certain sections of land appear from thin air, only to vanish without a trace afterward.

“What’s going on with these three suns?”

Night Frost looked at Li Dogegg.

Li Dogegg was clearly the one who knew the Mythic Abyss best. She might be able to get some useful information from it.

But Li Dogegg shook its head.

From the day it was born until now, it had only ever known of two suns in the sky. The second sun rose only occasionally, bringing it a richer supply of food.

Whenever that happened, it could enjoy a full meal.

But Li Dogegg had never seen this third sun before. Its memories contained no description of multiple suns.

If they wanted to know why the sun had become plural, they could probably ask the Dragon of Prophecy.

“The Dragon of Prophecy?”

When the title of Calamity Dragon had been mentioned, Night Frost had already guessed that other titled Dragons existed.

From the name alone, she could tell that this one controlled prophecy. It was a wise being that knew the past, the present, and the future.

But Night Frost had no interest in any of that.

Their first priority was returning home. She had no interest in what the Mythic Abyss looked like.

“Can we leave now?”

Li Dogegg didn’t know either.

Night Frost really wanted to punch it.

This fellow had lived here for who knew how many centuries, yet it knew absolutely nothing. She had formed a contract with Li Dogegg so she could question it.

And now it couldn’t do a thing!

“If I could, I’d really like to kill you…”

After thinking it over, she decided Li Dogegg was still somewhat useful. At the very least, there was some knowledge in its head.

When Li Dogegg heard that Night Frost wanted to kill it, it quickly hid far away.

Sometimes, Night Frost’s words were definitely serious. If she said she was going to kill Li Dogegg, then she really would.

“I’m not actually going to kill you…”

Night Frost helplessly waved her hand.

Li Dogegg didn’t come over.

Not a single word Night Frost said could be trusted.

“Even if you don’t kill me now, you’ll kill me once I’m no longer useful! You’re definitely that kind of person!”

Night Frost felt a strange irritation rising inside her.

It was as if Li Dogegg had seen straight through her.

She wanted nothing more than to coat the creature in oil, throw it into a pan, and fry it until golden-brown.

Unfortunately, there were no breadcrumbs.

“Forget it. Looks like I can’t count on you.”

Night Frost gave up on Li Dogegg.

Her threat had frightened it badly. It probably wouldn’t dare approach her for a while.

Nothing seemed to be going wrong nearby. They should be able to set off.

Following the route Li Dogegg had previously indicated, they walked along the coastline for some distance.

The coastline looked much more normal now.

The group proceeded peacefully for a long while. Fortunately, the period of the three suns in the sky was short, lasting only a small part of the day.

If the Mythic Abyss remained this strange, Night Frost and the others could forget about returning home.

They might not even be able to stay alive here.

At last, the third sun sank below the horizon. The heat faded, and a faint chill spread across the entire coast.

Fortunately, the sea was nearby, so the temperature didn’t drop too sharply.

Still, the cold wind blowing in from the ocean made everyone shiver uncontrollably.

“Let’s find somewhere sheltered from the wind…”

Night Frost looked around. There was no suitable harbor nearby.

However, she could carve a hole into the cliff beside the beach, or return to the cavern they had used earlier. Neither would take much time.

“Let’s stay here. It’ll be more convenient, and the three of us won’t need long.”

Night Frost used her Spear to carve out a hole large enough to hold her body.

She laid down some stones inside and lit a fire.

It was enough to block the wind and rain, and drive away the cold.
