Here, the melody stays cold.

First, let me weed out those strange readers who only like to read the afterword (laugh).

Next, thank you so much to everyone who, after finishing Volume One, kept reading and made it through this one, Volume Two.

To be honest, before I released this book, I was a bit worried that a story that’s not gender-bender, not moe, and not a standard hot-blooded battle series might not be very popular. Looking at it now, the results aren’t amazing, but they’re not bad either. After all, this genre isn’t exactly super niche—though, when it comes down to it, I’m not even sure what “genre” this is supposed to be...

Back to the story. Volume Two is relatively short; it mainly works as a transition and for clarification.

Content-wise, this volume brings several Deities onto the stage, and the most important one is without a doubt [Misfortune]—Little Ash. Through Ye Weibai’s narration, the last few chapters of this volume tell Little Ash’s story from before she became a [Deity]. Of course, it only scratches the surface. If I get the chance, I’ll flesh it out in a prequel.

As for Little Ash-chan getting her “lunchbox”—that’s all the plot’s fault, not the author’s, so please don’t mail me razor blades.

Actually, besides Little Ash, [Trade], [War Deity], [Nightfall], [Time], [Void]... all these Deities have their own colorful stories. These stories existed in my other novels long before I started writing “One Hundred Ways to Make a Girl Cry” (too long, so I’ll just call it “Girl Methods” from now on). Of course, they were never posted on SF.

I won’t go into that here. If by then I still haven’t abandoned this book, there should be chances to unfold them properly in the later main story.

So, as usual, here’s the title of the next volume.

Volume Three: “[Self-Deception] Philia.”

Summary: This will be the first World Ye Weibai experiences after his game begins. At the same time, it’ll be a story about siblings, monsters, eating and being eaten... a tale of “self-deception.”

I hope you’ll enjoy it.
