“Ow... it hurts.” The ache yanks her from sleep, a knife-twist in her belly. She looks down—her nightdress is soaked in fresh red.

“Don’t tell me Lin Fan went beast-mode last night and... did that to me.” Xiaoxue’s brows knot tight. “I knew it... I shouldn’t have trusted him.”

But the pain keeps climbing, wave after wave. “Uuu... it hurts...” Little Loli cries, breath thin as mist.

Lin Fan stirs at the sound. He blinks awake, mind fogged, then jolts upright. “Xiaoxue—you... Xiaoxue!” In the corner of the tent, a small golden figure curls into herself. Her delicate face scrunches hard, like she’s holding back a tidal surge of pain. Deep crimson stains spread under her, soaking most of her sleep dress. Her messy gold hair spills across the floor, so soft it hurts to look.

He vaults to Xiao Qianxue and lifts her gently. “Lin Fan... you lecher... brute... pervert...” She sags against his chest, voice weak as candlelight. “Knew it—put a man and a woman under one blanket, and nothing good happens... You actually...” The agony clamps down again. Her brows lock tighter. “It hurts... it hurts...” Her fingers fist his shirt, and even her breathing sounds fragile.

“Could it really be that?” Lin Fan holds her close. Beads of sweat roll down his cheek. “Good thing I came prepared.”

“Xiaoxue, relax. You’ll be fine.” No time to explain—he whispers warm comfort at her ear. He slides a thick cushion under her hips. Then he bolts to the supply crate, hands fast and steady. Out come sanitary pads and pain meds, set within reach. He grabs a warm towel and brown sugar water. Don’t ask how he had all this ready. Mind your business.

He ducks back inside and tips the sweet, warm brew to her lips. Then he kneels and wipes the blood away, slow and careful. “Hey! You—” “Don’t talk. Lie still.” The sugar warmth brings a little strength back to her face. Then Lin Fan lifts her skirt.

A warm touch brushes back and forth below. Little Loli squirms, unable to help it. “Don’t move. Almost clean.” His voice stays calm. “Y-you jerk!” Her cheeks flare so hot they could steam.

“Okay. Next step.” He darts out again, leaving her blinking. “Eh?”

He returns with fresh clothes and a neat heap of care items. “It’s that time of the month.” His face goes red. He looks aside, suddenly shy. “Eh?!” She yelps from the bedding.

“So today, you rest. Food’s on me.” “I... I thought you did something to me at midnight...” Her head dips, blush blooming. She knows the basics; this must be her first period. Lin Fan sets a hand atop her head and strokes softly. “Quit overthinking. Change clothes. I’ll prep things.”

“Th-thanks.” She watches his not-tall, sturdy back slip past the flap. Pads to painkillers line the ground like a tiny arsenal. Her cheeks pink again. “He really came prepared...”

“Hey, send over foods good for her during her period. Yeah, now. Tell them to hurry.” Lin Fan rinses the towel, talking to HQ. Blood swirls in the basin like red clouds drifting. “She’s bleeding a bit much...” he mutters. “Biu~~~” A perfect parabola arcs from the tent. A cup drops square onto his head. “Don’t pretend I didn’t hear that!” Her voice is sweet, with a shy bite.

“...” He checks the cup, rubs the lump. “Fine. I’ll wash this too.”

“I’m coming in.” “Please.” He steps in with warm water. Little Loli sits on the floor, taming sweat-mussed gold strands. “Let me.” He sets the water aside, takes her comb, and sits behind her, patient as dawn.

“Why are you so good to me...” Her tone is calm, like rain on leaves. “Because I like you.” His answer lands soft, heavy as a heartbeat. Being confessed to—her heart surges like storm-tossed waves. “B-but I...” She stammers, face berry red. He’s no better; blush spreads across his cheeks.

Silence settles. Lin Fan combs and combs her long gold hair, each stroke smooth as silk. She sits still, gentle, a small lantern glowing in the dark.

From far off, rotor blades drum the sky. “Looks like the supplies are here. I’ll grab them.” He strokes her head and slips out.

“Yo, Lin Fan, being real thoughtful, huh.” The pilot uncle eyes his blush and teases. “Ahem. Is everything ready?” Lin Fan sidesteps. “Hahaha, of course.” The uncle’s laugh booms like sunshine, and he claps Lin Fan’s shoulder.

Lin Fan unloads the goods, waves goodbye. The helicopter lifts and vanishes, quick as a bird. The crate drags at his arms, heavy as a promise. “Yep, that’s a lot.”

In the clearing near camp, he cracks the lid. Aromas roll out, warm as a kitchen at dawn. “So much. Enough till tomorrow.” He shuts the lid and hauls the box into the tent.

“Wow (⊙0⊙)! So much food!” Little Loli’s been waiting. She grabs the crate, fishes out delicacies, and starts eating with bright eyes. Lin Fan watches a mountain vanish bite by bite. A vein throbs at his temple. “Looks like it won’t last till tomorrow.”

They hole up in the tent for a whole day. “We might have to leave tomorrow.” Lin Fan quietly crumples a note from the crate and slips it into his pocket. “Eh? Why?” Little Loli lounges with an iPad, absorbed. The crate wasn’t just food; it had electronics, too. She claimed one without a second thought.

“Something popped up. Tsk—what a pain.” Lin Fan stands at the flap. Red light flares in his palm. A crimson air-blade whips out and cleaves a tall tree, dropping it clean.

“Not bad,” she says, eyes still on her screen, not the stump.

“Forget it. Sleep, sleep...”
