Though Celia Maya had suppressed herself to Overdeity Level, initial stage—the ceiling Lingxiao and Lingsaki could hit together—her spellcraft and Law control left them chasing dust on the horizon.
Within half an hour, she held the initiative like a hawk gripping prey. Lingxiao and Lingsaki’s offense not only failed; pressure crashed over them like tide on a cliff.
Frustration rose first, hot as steam under a lid. Lingxiao gritted her teeth. “Lingsaki, this won’t do! If we’re doomed anyway, drop the brakes. No point saving strength like this.”
Agreement came like flint catching spark. “Same. Against someone far stronger, holding back is sheathing the blade in a storm—pointless.”
She nodded, resolve settling like a clear moon. This was part of cultivation; better to show the full sky than hide under clouds and mist, and let Celia truly see them.
“Day-Night Dominion!”
The Book of Day and the Book of Night erupted with blinding Law-light. To the east blazed a fierce sun; to the west hung a young crescent. Their lights braided into a gorgeous, impossible sky. Inside that range, Celia felt her grasp on the Laws tighten and drag, like wind catching in reeds.
She looked around with amused eyes, a cat watching ripples. She didn’t unfold her own Law Domain; there was no need. A Domain hits hard, but it’s not her only oar in the river.
In her view, the Day-Night Dominion stood lofty yet flawed. Its drain was a noon sun; without potions or elixirs, the sisters might last ten minutes, no more.
“Now we race the hourglass. Throw everything we’ve got, Lingsaki!”
“Yeah!”
They split apart like twin comets to widen their assault. Light and Darkness Laws suddenly flooded heaven and earth, stars strewn across a sky where day and night coexisted, stark and beautiful.
“Silence—Nightfiend.”
She barely slipped past a casual Law-bolt Celia flicked like a pebble. Lingsaki poured darkness and summoned a hulking Nightfiend, black miasma rolling off it like stormclouds.
It pounced. Huge yet swift, it hammered razor claws into Celia’s magic shield, driving her back a few steps, like boots sliding on wet stone.
She used the opening. Darkness braided into thick chains that shot out and circled Celia and the fiend, weaving a cage like iron ivy.
ROAR!!
Inside the cage, the Nightfiend went manic; its claws burned with eerie violet. It howled and raked at Celia—
Clang!
It struck something impossibly hard. Its claws shattered with a boom. Ignoring the pained wail, Celia fired a lance of magic light that hurled it into the bars and left it wrecked.
Relief cooled Lingsaki like sudden rain. She hadn’t bet on the Nightfiend; it was a sandstorm to buy time for Lingxiao—and the timing landed like a drumbeat.
“Saint Thunder: Heaven’s Judgement!”
Light Laws surged around Celia and formed binding halos that pinned her like creeping vines. A colossal magic array flowered in the sky; thunder rolled, and lightning spilled like waves, the heavens painted with apocalypse.
True to the name, countless thick bolts poured down toward Celia like waterfalls. Seizing the chance, Lingsaki fed Darkness into the lightning. Blue-white veins went black-violet, evolving into Gloam Thunder where Light and Dark coiled like twin dragons.
A prickle of danger slid over her skin, cool as shade. Celia squinted up. “That’s a bit troublesome.” Even at Overdeity Level’s initial stage, eating that head-on wouldn’t be easy.
She didn’t rush to shatter the halos. She raised her wand, voice a wind in the pines, and a pure node of Law bloomed in her left palm. As Gloam Thunder fell, she coolly hurled that Law-source.
The flung Law opened into a net of wind, gauze in a storm, slowing the descent. On her wand, a translucent Sword of Law condensed like frost.
She read the heart of the bolt—the coupling between Light and Dark—like fingers finding a knot in silk. With graceful cuts, she let the wand-guided blade sever those links and unravel the roaring Gloam Thunder.
Seeing that, Lingxiao poured more into the halos, urgency beating like war drums. Too late. An invisible, glasslike wall had formed around Celia, and the rings could press no further.
Even so, Celia felt some pressure; Saint Thunder: Heaven’s Judgement was an Overdeity Level spell. With Lingsaki’s boost, its force neared the mid stage. After their battle in Cerol City, the sisters had grasped Overdeity magic better. This time it didn’t crush them—just wrung them dry of stamina and mana.
In other words, Lingsaki and Lingxiao couldn’t attack anymore. They knew only Overdeity-tier and above could threaten Celia; anything less was sand through fingers.
“Final strike—Gloam Thunder Maelstrom!”
As Celia dispersed most of the Gloam Thunder, the sisters drank the Day-Night Dominion dry and funneled it into one last bolt. Waves of Law slammed the arena barrier like storm surf.
“Resonant Light: Blade.”
Wild wind wrapped the Sword of Law on her wand. She leveled it at the tornado of Gloam Thunder and launched the blade like a shooting star.
BOOM!!
Lightning flared; winds howled; the earth trembled like a drumskin. There was no world-ending blast. Half a minute slid by, and the sky cleared like rain past. Celia slipped free of the halos with ease. Lingxiao and Lingsaki stood ahead, breaths ragged, spent like burnt wicks.
The outcome was never in doubt; Celia Maya had won like dawn outlasting night.
“That was a fine fight,” Celia said with a small smile, praise warm as sunlight.
