“Waaah!!!”

Tang Coco jolted like lightning struck; she shoved Ye Yiyi away, palms clamped over her mouth, head shaking like a rattled gourd.

“Uuuh~”

Her expression was miserable, yet a blush bloomed like peach petals across her pretty face.

Ye Yiyi sat at the juncture of Tang Coco’s thighs, eyes stunned like a deer in headlights, mind freezing like a winter stream.

“Ah! Coco… are you… are you okay… I… I didn’t mean it…”

Her voice trembled like a paper kite in a gust as she crawled closer, worry flooding her gaze.

“Uuuh~”

Tang Coco still covered her mouth, shaking her head in pain, that bite stinging like frost on the tongue.

“It hurts, right? Then… then let’s go to the hospital…”

Ye Yiyi spoke in a rush, panic flickering like rain on a window.

“Mff… mm… no need…”

The pain ebbed like a receding tide; Tang Coco steadied herself, pride stiff as bamboo—no way she’d go to a hospital for this.

“I’m… I’m sorry…”

Ye Yiyi’s cheeks flushed like sunset clouds; she hadn’t expected it to go that way.

“It’s all because Coco… suddenly… just…”

Her voice faded like a dragonfly skimming water, and her face reddened deeper like fire in a kiln.

“Uuuh~”

Hearing that, Tang Coco wanted to cry without tears; shame rose like an underground river, and she wished she could sink.

“Coco…”

Ye Yiyi leaned in, lips touching Tang Coco’s like a dragonfly’s kiss on a pond, then sprang back, face turned aside like a shy moon.

Tang Coco stared blankly, mind drifting like mist over a lake.

“Feel better…?”

Ye Yiyi didn’t dare meet her eyes, voice small as a sparrow, gaze hiding like a crescent behind clouds.

“…”

Tang Coco was speechless, thoughts flat as placid water—this wasn’t an idol drama; could one peck fix everything?

Yet warmth curled in her chest like a lamp in rain; she rubbed her cheek and slowly sat up like a willow unbending.

“Okay… mm… I’m fine…”

Her words were still blurred, like speaking through cotton.

“That’s good…”

Ye Yiyi kept her head down, voice soft as night drizzle.

“All right~ I’m really fine!”

Seeing Ye Yiyi still blushing, head bowed like a drooping tulip, Tang Coco patted her shoulder, smile lifting like dawn.

“Mm!”

Ye Yiyi saw Coco’s smile and steadied like a boat finding shore.

“Coco, look—there’s the platform, we’re almost at the end.”

Ye Yiyi pointed ahead, her finger like an arrow, joy brightening like lantern light.

“Mm…”

Tang Coco nodded, the tip of her tongue still tingling like a cherry with a bruise.

Soon, hand in hand, they walked out of the “Underground Torrent,” waves of laughter trailing like ripples; the giant white bear had been sent from the service desk back to the hotel, hugging it all day was a burden like carrying a cloud.

They stepped into daylight and ran into Meng Xiaoxiao and the others, faces gathering like petals on a branch.

“Wow! You two were here!”

Meng Xiaoxiao called out, voice bouncing like a pebble off a pond.

“Mm, you’re out too.”

Ye Yiyi smiled, gentle as spring rain.

“Yeah, that haunted house was boring—nothing scary at all… even our gentle Sister Gu didn’t flinch.”

Meng Xiaoxiao lamented, words drooping like wilted flowers; Tang Coco silently griped, thoughts buzzing like bees.

Only a real ghost could shake them; those two had seen scenes a hundred times more terrifying than any painted fear.

“Huh? Coco-jie, what are you sneaking a bite of!?”

Suddenly, Meng Xiaoxiao darted to Tang Coco, eyes bright like stars; she’d seen Coco’s mouth puffing like a toad and thought it was something tasty.

“…”

Tang Coco stared with deadpan lines, patience thinning like ice under sun—did this girl think only with her stomach?

Seeing that look, Meng Xiaoxiao pouted like a cat with ruffled fur.

“Yiyi-jie! Coco-jie’s got something yummy and won’t share… and she’s giving me that look…”

Meng Xiaoxiao shook Ye Yiyi’s arm like a bell rope; Ye Yiyi’s face flared red like a lantern suddenly lit, words tangled like fishing lines.

Tang Coco and Ye Yiyi’s expressions flowed into Gu Xin’s and Meng Yuting’s eyes; those two veterans, seasoned like iron under fire, traded a glance and guessed the truth in a heartbeat.

“Pffft—”

Meng Yuting looked at Tang Coco’s awkward face and couldn’t help it; laughter spilled like pearls across a plate.

“Huh? Sis, what are you laughing at?”

Meng Xiaoxiao turned, curiosity hopping like a sparrow.

“Nothing… nothing.”

Meng Yuting waved a hand, smile cocked like a fan.

“Xiaoxiao, there’s an ice cream stall over there~”

Gu Xin stepped forward, voice cool as shade, pointing like a breeze.

“Ice cream! Yay, yay!”

Meng Xiaoxiao cheered, joy popping like fireworks; she grabbed Tang Coco’s hand and ran like a kite tugging its string.

“Cold helps with pain~”

Meng Yuting chimed in, mischief glinting like a fox’s eyes.

“...”

Tang Coco’s face drew lines again, patience fraying like silk.

“Hey! Slow down!”

She called after Meng Xiaoxiao, tongue stinging like a nettle, steps quick as tapping rain.

“Hoo~”

Watching Meng Xiaoxiao and Tang Coco finally go, Ye Yiyi’s heart loosened like a knotted ribbon; she exhaled, then looked up—and found Gu Xin watching her, a “kind” smile curling like tea steam.

“Mmm…”

Ye Yiyi blushed again, color rising like dawn on snow.

“Heh-heh~ come on, let’s catch up.”

Meng Yuting smiled, taking Gu Xin’s and Ye Yiyi’s hands, leading them forward like geese in formation.

“Two, please—cream and chocolate!”

At the street stall, Meng Xiaoxiao ordered fast, words crisp as snapping sugar.

“…”

“Can you even finish those…?”

Tang Coco eyed her like a creature from a tale, disbelief flapping like a startled crane.

“Of course!”

“One chocolate, one blueberry, one mango, and one strawberry, please.”

Tang Coco spoke to the lady, voice soft as velvet; the cones soon landed in her hands like little towers of snow.

“Come on, these are super good!”

Meng Xiaoxiao turned back to the three, eyes sparkling like river light.

“Here—your strawberry, Yiyi.”

“Thank you~”

Ye Yiyi accepted, wrist bending like a willow twig.

“And yours~”

Tang Coco grinned, passing mango and blueberry to Gu Xin and Meng Yuting, gestures neat as folded fans.

“Coco-jie, let’s go~ let’s find another ride~”

No sooner were the cones handed over than Meng Xiaoxiao tugged Tang Coco away, enthusiasm flowing like a stream in spring.

Hey, if I’m not mistaken, you had two cones in both hands just now… and you finished one already?

Tang Coco let herself be pulled, inner voice dry as autumn leaves, eyes rolling like slow thunder.

Behind them, Gu Xin looked at the mango cone, shock flickering like lightning on water; she lifted her gaze to Meng Yuting and found the same astonishment mirrored like twin moons.

“Mm? Sister Gu, what’s wrong?”

Ye Yiyi asked, puzzled, her voice clear as a bell in mist.
