13. The Fall of Warrior One

"Kill her! Now! Kill her!"

Seeing Yingning had already looted most of the items—with only one weapon still out of reach, not yet stuffed into her backpack—the crowd burned with anxiety.

Weapons were crucial! In the early game, a high-damage weapon meant leveling efficiency several times higher than others. This snowball effect would make catching up impossible later. Even if everything else was lost, even if they were leveled down to zero, that weapon must never fall into enemy hands!

Yingning remained oblivious to the chaos around her. She didn’t care—she had no time to care. Her eyes were locked solely on the pile of gear on the ground.

She knew the value of green gear in the early stages. No matter whose it was, it couldn’t end up with these beasts. Even if she couldn’t grab it all, she’d make them regret it.

The girl lunged with all her might, diving for the Warrior’s Green One-Handed Sword!

At the same moment, two nearby players pounced toward her. Three Mages farther off finished chanting in unison, locking their Fireballs half a step ahead of her landing spot.

Yingning was only level one. Unlike me, she lacked the 1.5x pet stat bonus. Any single hit from this barrage would cost her the Green One-Handed Sword.

The attackers were an Assassin and a Warrior. Both unleashed dash and control skills, determined to pin Yingning in place.

Three Fireballs were also homing in. If they landed, she’d die instantly—respawning at the Respawn Point!

The Assassin’s Dagger pressed tightly against Yingning’s exposed calf. Thanks to the hyper-realistic graphics, a faint trace of blood seeped from the blade—a Tendon Strike!

One more inch, and Yingning’s calf tendon would be severed, locking her into a brief but deadly forced stun.

To make matters worse, the Warrior’s Two-Handed Greatsword crashed down toward her neck. This Elite Warrior was level seven! Muscles bulged across his dark upper body, radiating chilling bulk. His Heavy Slash wouldn’t just stun her—if it landed on her neck, a critical hit could one-shot her!

*Clang!*

Metal clashed, echoing across the battlefield. The Assassin’s Dagger was violently deflected by a green speck flying from nowhere. It only scraped off 5 HP from Yingning, failing to sever her tendon or trigger the stun.

The Dagger threat was gone—but the far deadlier Elite Warrior followed close behind!

This time, the foreign object missed his weapon entirely.

The white light grazed past his sword blade without knocking it aside. The Warrior grinned savagely as he swung his greatsword down.

Of course! Just as he’d suspected. If that white light wasn’t a bug but the girl’s defensive Trump Card…

Defensive items or skills had limits for balance. They couldn’t block everything—there’d be a block chance or cap.

A mere level-one player? Even with high-tier defenses, her block chance or limit would be low. He was level seven—stats triple hers!

All tricks crumbled before absolute power. Paper tigers, easily pierced.

His full-force strike likely exceeded her block limit. No defense could withstand such might.

Hmph!

When facing an inexplicable skill, panicking and whining about imbalance made you trash forever. True players analyzed weaknesses.

He’d hit level seven first for a reason—he wasn’t trash.

"Die!!!"

I’ve seen through your weakness!

The gleaming, pale Two-Handed Greatsword reflected the desolate moonlight, carrying unstoppable killing intent. It whooshed down toward Yingning’s neck!

Her fingers were still a hair’s breadth from the green weapon.

"Accept your fate! Advanced skill—Thousand-Ton Slash!"

The Warrior roared, grinning savagely.

This was his long-hidden trump card—saved for the guild leader’s big events. But now, he had no choice.

The Two-Handed Greatsword accelerated, slamming into Yingning’s neck with ferocity triple its earlier force. It stirred her jet-black hair.

*Pop! Pop! Pop!*
