16 A Happy Weekend

On Friday evening, Leon and his family were sitting under the pavilion in the front courtyard of the temple, waiting for the "school bus" Leviathan.

Muen stood in the courtyard, her small hands shading her eyes as she gazed at the fiery clouds in the distance.

Standing on her tiptoes, her tail swished back and forth, her anticipation for her sister's return from school evident.

"Muen, your sister won't be back for a while. There's no need to be so anxious. Come sit and wait," Roswitha reminded her.

Muen reluctantly turned her gaze away, her little tail drooping in disappointment as its tip lightly dragged along the ground. She shuffled toward the pavilion.

Noticing his daughter's crestfallen expression, Leon reached out and scooped her onto his laps. "Do you miss your sister?"

Little Muen nodded vigorously. "Muen hasn't seen her sister for five whole days. Muen misses her very much."

"Daddy misses her too. How about this? When your sister gets back, let's see who runs faster to hug her first, okay?" Leon said soothingly.

Muen's eyes lit up, and she suddenly crossed her arms and raised her tail proudly. "Daddy's definitely no match for me!"

"Oh? So confident?"

"Yes! Because Daddy's body has periodic weakness. I've calculated that these past couple of days are just those 'weakness' days for Daddy!"

"..."

Leon, who initially wanted to comfort his daughter and distract her, felt as though he'd been stabbed in the heart instead.

Does Daddy look frail to you?

Daddy is incredibly strong!

Just ask your mom.

"Ah..."

Lost in these ridiculous thoughts, Leon was startled by a sigh from another direction.

Turning his head, he found himself looking at the source of the sound: the pink-haired Aurora. "What's wrong, Aurora?"

Leaning forward, her small chin resting on her clasped hands, Aurora sighed once more. "Ah... A woman's sense of novelty is like a candle on the dinner table—it won't last more than two hours."

Hearing such profound musings from his youngest daughter, Leon couldn't help but draw in a sharp breath.

Immediately, he turned to Roswitha, suspecting the mother dragon had been secretly teaching Aurora these strange concepts.

The queen only shrugged innocently, signaling that she had no part in it.

She reached out to pat Aurora on the head and asked, "Why would you suddenly say something like that?"

"Elder sister doesn't have the same enthusiasm for her adorable little sister as before. Ah... Mommy, my life is like walking on thin ice. Do you think I can win my elder sister's heart back?"

"..."

Such a little thing, yet what a silver tongue.

While Roswitha pondered how to respond to Aurora, Muen suddenly spoke up.

"Aurora, don't overthink it. Muen will always like Aurora."

"Really, sister?"

"Really!"

"Second sis, give me a hug~"

Aurora jumped off the stone bench, spreading her little arms as she leaped into her sister's embrace.

The two sisters cozied up to each other, with their tails intertwined.

Leon and Roswitha, watching the scene unfold from either side, were unsure whether to remain quiet or say something to praise the bond between the sisters.

As they stood there, momentarily stunned, Leon noticed Aurora sneaking an "OK" hand gesture toward him.

The next second, the old father understood—it had all been part of Aurora's brilliant plan to distract Muen's attention!

Leon couldn't help but smile to himself and glanced over at Roswitha.

The queen, having also received Aurora's secret signal, expressed a look of relief and satisfaction.

"Second sis, will you really always like Aurora?" Aurora asked again.

Muen nodded seriously. "I will."

"Really, really always like me?"

"Really, really."

"Really, really, really—"

Before her sentence could finish, a voice called from the doorway:

"Muen, Aurora, I'm back!"

"Big sis, I'm coming~!"

In an instant, little Muen transformed into a sprinter, dashing toward the door.

Aurora was left standing in a daze.

"At least finish what you were saying, second sis..."

Walking up beside Aurora, Leon ruffled her soft pink hair. "Understand your second sister; the whole world knows she's obsessed with your big sis."

Aurora shrugged. "It's fine. After all, I successfully stalled until big sis came back. Daddy, mission complete~"

Leon chuckled, bending down to lift her into his arms. "Alright, let’s go welcome your elder sister then."

"Mmhm."

The three began walking away from the pavilion toward the entrance.

As they got closer, they noticed that Noa wasn’t alone—accompanying her was another girl.

Leon narrowed his eyes slightly, focusing on the Dragon Clan girl beside Noa. The girl was slightly taller than Noa, with gentle and charming features. He surmised she was likely Noa’s classmate.

Muen, whose tail had been raised high upon, hearing Noa's voice, let it droop as she noticed the girl.

She slowed her steps and approached Noa and the girl, with Leon holding Aurora, and Roswitha standing just behind her.

"Noa, and this is...?" Leon asked.

"Oh, hello Uncle! My name is Helena. I'm Noa's classmate, and I'm nine years old this year," the girl introduced herself politely.

U-Uncle...

Hearing the term, Leon's eyes twitched slightly.

Sure, being called "Uncle" was natural for a father.

But he was only twenty-four... Being addressed as that by his daughter’s classmate…

Sigh, time waits for no one, does it?

"Hello, Auntie," Helena greeted Roswitha as well.

For the 200-year-old mother dragon, being called "Auntie" was far less bothersome than it was for Leon. She simply smiled and nodded. "Hello, Helena."

The child showed no signs of shyness, and while not overly familiar, she displayed a good sense of social boundaries—very well-mannered for someone her age.

Definitely not from an ordinary noble family, Roswitha speculated.

"Mom, Dad, can Helena stay over at our house this weekend?" Noa asked.

"Of course," Roswitha nodded.

Having her daughter’s classmate as a guest was perfectly fine.

In fact, Roswitha was delighted to see Noa making friends she could bring back home.

Noa had always been more mature and introspective for her age, often overburdening herself. Over time, this led to hints of introversion and emotional withdrawal.

For Noa to start forming friendships at this stage was undoubtedly a good sign.

After all, she couldn’t always rely on her father and two younger sisters to carry the weight of her life’s stress and problems. She needed her own social circle and her own friends.

"Thank you, Auntie!" Helena gave a small bow of gratitude.

Her gaze then drifted toward Muen and Aurora. "Noa, are these the younger sisters you often mention?"

"Yes."

Noa stepped closer to Muen and took her little hands. "This is Muen, my twin sister. The one Daddy's holding is Aurora."

"Hello, little Muen~"

Helena extended a hand, attempting to greet Muen with a handshake.

Muen’s big, round eyes fluttered.

She looked at the girl her elder sister had brought home, her mind flashing back to the day they’d dropped Noa off at school.

It was that same girl, Helena, who had linked arms with Noa and walked her into the classroom.

Caught up in her memory, Muen forgot to respond for a moment.

It wasn’t until Noa lightly squeezed her hand that she snapped out of her trance.

"Ah! Ah... H-Hello. My name is Muen—it means 'moon.'"

Muen took Helena’s extended hand, unintentionally gripping it a little tighter than necessary.

From her perch in her father’s arms, Aurora observed the scene, raising an eyebrow slightly.

Oh-ho, it seems this weekend is going to be entertaining.
