"Primal Magic... I know about it, but not much."

Leon recalled briefly and then continued,

"Back at the Dragon Slayer Academy, those old professors occasionally mentioned Primal Magic to us a few times."

"The professors said that Primal Magic was a kind of magic created in the early chaotic time of this continent, crafted by the ancestors of certain races using the purest energy."

"It doesn't feature any elemental attributes transformations like lightning, fire, or wind, nor does it have any form-based changes like Chidori or Thunder Wolf Destroyer."

"Primal Magic is released through pure energy, and its effects are vastly different from the prevalently diverse Elemental Magic of today."

"But as for its specifics... I'm not too sure. Our academy didn't offer any courses specifically on Primal Magic, and we never deeply search it."

Listening to Leon’s explanation, Roswitha nodded approvingly.

"Primal Magic has existed since the creation of this 'Samael' continent, which dates back millions of years. Not just humans—even the Dragon Clan has very scant records of it."

"But there is one thing that is very reliable."

Leon raised an eyebrow. "Oh? What’s that?"

"The Dragon God, Tiamat. According to historical records, it was one of the progenitors who created Primal Magic."

"The Dragon God... Tiamat..."

Another name Leon had never heard before.

But this time, its title was not "Dragon King," but a seemingly higher-ranking "Dragon God."

If Tiamat was truly one of the progenitors of Primordial Magic, his existence vastly predated all of human history, so it made sense for Leon not to have heard of him.

"In the records of the Dragon Clan, it is documented that all Dragon Clans are branches of the Dragon God Tiamat."

"Millions of years ago, the Dragon God Tiamat created the powerful Primal Magic to combat the chaos of the world."

"Eventually, Tiamat joined forces with ancestors of several mysterious races to accomplish the epic feat of 'shaping the heavens,' but he was almost dying due to the loss of power in the process."

"Before his death, Tiamat divided the remnants of his power into several categories, which grew over the long years that followed, eventually evolving into the various Dragon Clans you see today."

"And during the evolution, Primal Magic was lost to history, replaced by various Elemental Magics we use now."

Listening to Roswitha's explanation, Leon thought for a moment. He recalled what Roswitha had mentioned earlier about the desier to grow stronger, and asked,

"Don't tell me that you’re planning to train in Primal Magic."

Roswitha slowly turned her head to look at Leon from her pillow, smiling as she said, "I am. With the Dragon Mark allowing me to store more magic power, casting Primal Magic may be feasible."

Primal Magic is activated with the purest energy. Although Roswitha’s elemental attribute was fire, as long as she didn’t unleash it immediately, the accumulated energy could remain stored within her body in its purest "state".

Even so, casting Primal Magic still required a massive amount of energy.

To solve this energy problem, Roswitha adopted the same solution as Leon, that was, to use the Dragon Mark to store magic power.

"But you just mentioned how scarce the records on Primal Magic are. If you want to practice it... won't that be really troublesome?"

"Of course, it’ll be troublesome. But relying solely on fire magic and other learned spells is far from enough."

Roswitha said, "If I want to significantly enhance my power in a short period without resorting to extreme methods, Primal Magic is the only way, Leon."

"...Alright, I get it."

"Oh? So you agree to accompany me practicing Primal Magic?"

Leon smirked, resting his arms behind his head and gazing at the ceiling as he spoke leisurely.

"What choice do I have? Like what my master used to say, when your wife comes to tell you she wants to do something, she’s not discussing with you; she’s informing you."

Roswitha perked up with interest, propping her head on her hands and poked Leon’s arms.

"Any classic examples you can share?"

Leon thought back and said,

"One time, my master’s wife got bored at home and bought a pile of thread and needles, saying she wanted to take up embroidery for some extra income to support the household."

"My master initially told her it wasn’t necessary—the ranch income was enough to support the family. And in the worst case, selling the donkey would bring in plenty."

"But his wife insisted, coaxing and pestering him, saying she simply *must* do embroidery—by the way, you get this same exact way when you want something, just like she did."

The queen kicked General Leon's private part. "If you’re telling a story, then just tell the story—don't drag me into this."

Leon grinned and continued,

"So, my master had no choice but to let his wife learn embroidery.

But she wasn’t very skilled at that and kept poking her fingers with the needles.

Finally, after a month, and with countless bandages, she completed her masterpiece: a piece called 'Donkey Grazing Scene.'

Afterward, she never touched the embroidery stuff again. She said her fingers were more important than alleviating boredom.”

Leon sighed and concluded, "So you see, if your wife wants to try something, let her do it. She’ll figure it out on her own when it backfires."

Roswitha listened with growing suspicion. After realizing Leon's point, she lightly punched Leon’s chest.

"So, you’re scolding me, aren’t you?"

"By the heavens, I’m simply sharing a fun family anecdote—how does that equate to scolding you?" Leon feigned innocence.

"You *are* scolding me. You’re *absolutely* doing so!"

As Roswitha spoke, she kicked Leon's thighs twice more. But this time, Leon caught her by the ankle.

"I've told you, when you’re pouting, you look just like my master’s wife."

"This isn’t pouting! I’m trying to kick you!"

"Using your feet?"

"Of course! What else do you kick with?"

"Hmm~~ Why did you reward me?"

Hearing this, the queen quickly withdrew her delicate feet, hiding them under the covers.

"You... greasy, narcissistic, shameless married man! Go and sleep on the couch!"

Since she’d already called him shameless, Leon decided to own it.

Sleep on the couch?

Didn’t understand that.

I would stay in the bed. Hee-hee.

After a bit of playful scuffling, both of them were too tired to continue and finally settled down to rest.

Under the covers, Leon tentatively moved his hands toward Roswitha. Seeing no resistance from her, he gently clasped her soft and slender right hand.

The silence lasted briefly before Leon broke it.

"Have you made up your mind, Roswitha?"

"Yes. Primal Magic might not be the only way, but it’s the most efficient method in the short term."

Leon blinked and asked, "Roswitha, aside from protecting your people and our daughters, it seems like you have another reason. What is it? Can you tell me?"

Hearing his question, Roswitha bit her lips lightly and turned her head toward him. "Do you really want to know?"

Leon turned to face her and held her gaze. "Yes."

The rustling sound of delicate skin brushing against sheets filled the room as the beauty rose slightly. She leaned toward Leon, gently taking his chin in her hands. Her fingertips glided over the scars on his face as she stared into his deep and dark eyes.

"A long time ago, you were upset due to what Augus said, fearing that you would lose me and our daughters. That night, I spoke to you at length, and you were finally able to let it go."

"But mere words aren’t enough, Leon."

"That’s why I want to show you, through my own actions, that just like you, I care about this family, about our daughters—and about..."

Warm breaths brushed against him, followed by the soft sensation of her lips grazing the corner of his mouth.

"...the man I love."
