After arranging all the major and minor affairs within the clan, Leon and his family headed to the seaside for vacation.
This time, the beach they were visiting wasn’t the one featured as the final meeting spot in Director Nuo’s film "Parental Love." That particular location was at best a small scenic area near Sky City, good for post-dinner strolls to soothe your mood but far from being a true destination for enjoying the ocean.
If one really wanted to enjoy the sea and a proper vacation, they had to go to a real beach.
After a few hours of flight, the clouds parted to reveal a brilliant tropical landscape before Leon’s eyes.
Looking at the beach below and the endless expanse of blue ocean stretching outwards, Leon realized he had never imagined the Dragon Clan’s territory would be this vast.
Just thinking about it made him inexplicably angry.
Why would the Empire turn its back on him like this?
If only General Lai had had a few more years to conquer this Dragon Clan territory—then all the beaches, oceans, and landscapes would belong to humanity!
Hah! Short-sighted humans!
Well, whatever. This time, he was here to accompany his daughters, and he didn’t want to dwell on these irritating matters.
The silver dragon slowly descended at the entrance of the vacation resort.
Before heading to the beach, they first needed to check in to their hotel rooms and settle their belongings.
Two rooms had been booked: Noa and Muen shared one room, while Leon and Roswitha shared the other.
As for Aurora, where she slept at night was entirely dependent on whether her parents decided to bond emotionally that evening.
Poor little daughter. Even though her mom and dad had been by her side since she was born, there were moments when she had to experience being a "stay-behind child (due to parents' busy love life)."
So this story tells us: when reincarnating, you must choose a relatively laid-back family.
Because if you end up in a family that celebrates small occasions every three days and major ones every five—always working towards creating siblings—you’d better avoid them at night since they might not have much time to care for you.
After checking into their rooms, the family of five each changed into swimwear.
The three little dragon daughters naturally wore children’s striped swimsuits, each paired with a matching swim ring gifted upon purchase—adorable and safe.
Leon opted for a loose tank top and a pair of beach shorts, white on top and blue below—a fresh and sunny combination perfect for beach vibes.
Initially, Roswitha had only picked out a pair of beach shorts for him, confidently asserting,
"My husband's physique is so good; of course, he ought to show it off."
But Leon knew better—this she-dragon simply wanted to expose the Dragon Mark on his chest.
No way was he going to endure the gazes of countless first-class and special-grade warriors. So he bought himself an extra loose tank top as well.
Lastly came Roswitha. She wore the conservative one-piece swimsuit she’d purchased days earlier, complete with a sun-protective outer jacket. From head to toe, all she revealed were a long slender pair of legs and her tail.
The Silver Dragon Queen only exhibited her sultry, alluring charm during intimate moments with her pseudo-husband while "turning in homework." As for daily life, she was quite conservative.
Leon knew this about her.
That meant this trip to the beach was unlikely to include anything like the black gauze swimsuit incident from their time at the hot spring.
Thinking of that, Master Lai silently breathed a sigh of relief.
He had seen enough of this she-dragon’s tricks by now. The only thing capable of shaking his resolve was her various costume plays.
So, as long as he could ensure she didn’t wear any of those frivolous outfits, he, Kasmod, would surely remain pure-hearted, steadfast, and unshaken!
"What's got you smiling like that?" As they were heading out the door, Roswitha caught Leon smiling foolishly and couldn’t help asking.
Leon immediately straightened his expression. "N-nothing, nothing at all."
Roswitha's eyes turned slightly, a sly smile creeping onto her lips. "You were grinning just like a young boy on his first date."
Leon rolled his eyes at her. "Out of ideas, she-dragon? Now you're just copying me."
"Does it matter if I’m sneaky or not? As long as it makes you uncomfortable."
"I'm not uncomfortable—I’m perfectly comfortable."
Roswitha raised an eyebrow. "Oh really? Then how about I make you even more comfortable tonight?"
In an instant, Leon felt a tightness in his lower abdomen, swallowed hard, and avoided saying another word. He quickly slipped out the door to find his daughters.
Roswitha pocketed her hands in her jacket as she watched the foolish captive flee in defeat, shaking her head in mock pity.
"Sigh, it appears his magic hasn’t recovered yet; otherwise, he wouldn’t be so timid."
Saying so, Roswitha also stepped out of the room.
By the beach, the mildly salty sea breeze greeted them with seabirds circling overhead, and waves rolled in one after another.
At the distant horizon where the sea met sky, the water sparkled endlessly.
The beach wasn't crowded with visitors, as this area was similar to the Floating Cloud Valley—not catering to ordinary Dragon Clan citizens. Those fortunate enough to make it here were all of noble ranks.
Noa and Muen dove into the shallow waters with their swim rings. The parents had decided against letting them take Aurora along.
While playing together at home was fine, out here at the beach, they couldn’t afford to be so casual.
Although lifeguards stood at the ready nearby, Leon and Roswitha refused to let Aurora out of their sight.
Under the large parasol, Leon and Roswitha reclined on beach chairs, with two cups of chilled drinks sitting on a small table between them.
Aurora sat on her father’s belly, waving her tiny pink fists in the air, seemingly intent on accomplishing something.
Thinking she might be thirsty, Leon handed her the cold drink.
Aurora didn’t take it.
Assuming she was hot, Leon offered her a small fan.
Aurora didn’t want that either.
Leon sat up, looking at his youngest daughter. "What exactly is it that you want?"
And in the moment Leon leaned closer, Aurora’s tiny pink fist swung upward, landing a picture-perfect uppercut on her father’s chin.
Leon hadn't even reacted before hearing giggles from beside him.
Turning to look, he saw Roswitha laughing so hard on her beach chair that she was clutching her stomach.
Leon's eye twitched slightly. "W-what’s so funny…?"
The queen composed her expression, turned sideways, propped her delicate face with a slightly curled fist, and stared at Leon with sparkling eyes.
"There are only a handful of dragons in the world who could deliver an uppercut to you and remain completely unharmed. Aurora is one of them. Any thoughts?"
"This is just part of growing up to be little warm jacket—you know, everyone's rebellious when they're young, right?”
Still smiling, Leon lovingly picked up his youngest daughter. Her pink little tail dangled, swaying back and forth.
Aurora blinked her big, beautiful eyes at her father, babbling in indecipherable baby language.
"Speaking of Aurora, how much longer until she starts talking?" Leon asked.
Roswitha counted the days before replying, "About another month. Maybe half a month if things go quickly."
Leon nodded thoughtfully, gently patting Aurora’s head. "Do you think she’ll say 'dad' first or 'mom' first?"
"Is there any doubt? Calling 'mom' first is a biological instinctive behavior for younglings. In this matter, I suggest you don't try competing with me, Leon—you've got no chance."
Leon curled his lip. "That's not certain. Aurora is a human-dragon hybrid, after all. Hybrids always have unique traits."
The queen shrugged. "Unique enough to say 'dad' first? That’s just nonsense."
"Tch, then just wait and see. Aurora is definitely going to say 'dad' first."
Roswitha chuckled lightly, too bored to argue further.
She turned over, pulled out two tubes of sunscreen lotion from her bag, and said, "Help me put on sunscreen."
"Do it yourself," Leon responded, still busy entertaining Aurora without the slightest intention of helping her.
"I can't reach some spots. Come on, hurry up."
Seeing the dog of a husband still refusing to budge, Roswitha extended her tail to poke Leon's face. "I'll count to three. If you don't come over, I'll activate the Dragon Mark."
"…"
Leon was all set to retort, but the mention of the Dragon Mark suddenly reminded him of something.
"Roswitha."
"What?"
"A few nights ago when I was in the Empire, the Dragon Mark suddenly flashed for a moment… On that note, is there anything you’d like to explain?"
