The Queen's Diary (Pregnancy Edition)

January 13th:

It snowed again today. Anna still wouldn’t let me go outside, so I had to continue practicing yoga indoors with Milan. This time, Leon accompanied me for the entire session.

After the yoga session, I went to the balcony and, as always, watched my daughters playing in the snow in the courtyard.

Leon stood nearby for a while, as though a sudden thought struck him, and rushed outside in a fluster. When he returned, he was holding a small snowman that was about to melt.

The snowman was clearly a “girl”—long hair, an oval face, and a simple yet distinguishable tail. Leon said that he had modeled the snowman after me.

I wanted to praise him. He finally seemed to know how to make me happy.

But then that dog of a man asked, “Pretty, right?” and slapped the snowman into smithereens.

With that one act, he managed to hit both of my sore spots:

1. This was something I had always wanted to do to him, but he beat me to the punch.

2. The melting snow left the floor dirty.

Fine. He made a snowman of me during the day, so as revenge, I made a “little man” of him at night. As expected, he surrendered and sculpted another snowman for me, placing it outside my balcony.

Alright, I’m satisfied now.

January 14th: Yoga.

January 15th: Yoga.

January 16th: Yoga.

January 17th:

I gave Milan the day off. Things didn’t turn out as I initially thought. Practicing yoga does help pass the time, but over time, it gets a bit boring. I wanted to go out for a walk, though I doubt Anna would allow me.

January 18th:

My Castle has become my “prison.” I decided to stage a jailbreak, and my accomplice was Leon Casmod. Today, we crafted a detailed escape plan.

First, after tomorrow evening’s dinner, Leon will approach Anna under the pretext of reviewing her recent proxy work and request a complete inspection of the Castle.

Meanwhile, I will sneak to the front entrance. The riskiest place is often the safest—Anna would never suspect that I’d dare leave through the main door.

Next, I will prepare a maid costume to make the guards at the entrance think I am part of the Maid Squad, avoiding any alarm.

Finally, by the time Anna realizes her Queen has successfully escaped, I would already be outside, playing in the snow with my precious daughters!

The plan is flawless. The jailbreak will undoubtedly succeed!

January 19th:

The jailbreak failed.

Anna said it was suspicious for His Highness to suddenly care about Silver Dragon Clan affairs and ask to check her work, so she stayed vigilant. As expected, she caught wind of my plan to escape.

Stupid Casmod! He couldn’t even handle such a simple task. What use do I have for you, you incapable man?!

February 20th:

Six months into my pregnancy now. My belly has grown significantly larger, and I often suffer from back pain, making it impossible to stand for long. Unfortunately, yoga sessions have been forced to stop. My daily activities are now confined to a triangle: the bed, the dining table, and the bathroom.

February 21st:

Leon brought me a lot of new toys today: a Rubik’s cube, a small wooden car, puzzle locks, a nine-ring puzzle, and several other trinkets.

When I asked him where he got them, he said he made them himself. “These are all products of human intelligence,” he said. “Your Dragon Clan doesn’t have anything like this, right?”

I said, “Yeah, they’re pretty nice. I like them.”

Leon said, “They’re not made for you. They’re for our second baby, but since you’ve been so bored trapped inside, I’m lending them to you for now.”

I couldn’t be bothered to call him out on his lies.

The nine-ring puzzle is so much fun. Hehe.

February 25th:

Noa is about to start school again—her second semester at Saint Hiss Academy. I hope my daughter achieves even better results this term.

March 5th:

When measuring Muen’s height, I realized she had grown a lot since last year. She’s gone from being a “small-sized loli” to a “medium-sized loli.” By the end of this year, she might upgrade to a “large-sized loli.”

Leon said our daughter gets prettier as she grows and that she takes after him.

I told him he’s shameless.

He got upset.

Don’t worry—there’ll be plenty more to get upset over in the future.

March 6th:

The clan’s doctors came to check on me today. They said the baby is developing well and estimated the due date to be late June. They also mentioned that my health, especially my mental state, is much better compared to when I was pregnant with Noa and Muen. This is very beneficial for the baby’s growth.

Before leaving, the doctor teased me a little, asking, “Your Majesty, is it thanks to His Highness’s company this time that you’ve been in such good spirits?”

Although I didn’t really want to admit it, Leon has indeed made great contributions in alleviating my pregnancy anxiety over the past few months.

One use for a POW: having them pose as a husband.

April 7th:

My sister wrote to me, mentioning Constantine, the Crimson Flame Dragon King, who we discussed during my last visit to Sky City. She said he recently deployed a significant number of troops to harass the Wind Dragon Clan and stir up minor conflicts, seemingly aiming to provoke a clash between the two clans.

Strangely, however, Constantine hasn’t sent his elite forces. He’s merely been posturing at the Wind Dragon Clan’s borders as if waiting for something.

This could very well be a prelude to war. My sister mentioned that she’s been secretly communicating with the Wind Dragon Clan, anticipating any tricks Constantine might pull since such moves could endanger her Red Dragon Clan. She apologized for not being able to visit me during my pregnancy due to these concerns.

In my reply, I told her there’s no need to apologize. If she needs help, I can deploy some of the Silver Dragon Clan’s forces to assist her, as I had proposed before.

She told me not yet—she’ll ask when the time comes.

I hope my sister stays safe.

May 15th:

Noa came home for the weekend and mentioned that her summer vacation starts next month. She suggested that once I’ve had the baby and recovered, our family of five could go to the beach together.

Of course, I agreed.

I can’t help but marvel at how fast time flies. The due date is almost here.

May 29th:

In the afternoon, a thunderous explosion echoed from the rear mountain of the Castle, and the sky darkened as storm clouds gathered—an immense magical disturbance.

Thinking a dangerous beast might have slipped into our territory, I rushed to the balcony and spotted Leon sneaking back from the rear mountain. I immediately knew he was up to something.

During dinner, I asked him what he had been doing out there and why it caused such a commotion.

He stammered, clearly hiding something.

Not willing to talk? Fine. Let’s see how long you last under the much-missed 2:30 AM Truth Game session.

Turns out he had been testing his magic restoration earlier that day. From the explosion and the dramatic “heaven-and-earth-changing” display, it seems that the dog of a man’s powers have returned to their peak.

But what annoys me more is that I only found out now that he had been in a weakened magic state all along. Darn it! If I’d known earlier, I could’ve bullied him more while he was “undeveloped.”

June 29th:

Roswitha’s due date.

By evening, the bedroom was packed with Maid Squad members and several top-tier female doctors from the clan.

The Queen’s childbirth is of the utmost importance; no mistakes can be afforded.

She lay on the large bed, drained of energy, her forehead and cheeks glistening with sweat from the contractions.

The doctors closely monitored her condition, ensuring the safest possible delivery environment.

The maids busied themselves, deeply focused on their tasks.

And in this final stage, Leon could do nothing to help. He quietly sat on the balcony, holding Muen in his arms. Noa stood beside him, holding her little sister’s hand.

The father and daughters waited in silence.

But inexplicably, Leon felt a rising unease, as though something ominous was looming.

Noticing his worry, Noa tried to comfort him, saying, “Daddy, Mommy will be fine. Once Mommy has the baby and gets better, we’ll all go to the beach together.”

She’s such a thoughtful little angel.

Leon collected himself, patted her head, and smiled. “Alright.”

Then, turning his gaze to the horizon, he saw the crimson sunset, painting the sky as if set ablaze.
