I saw a YouTube video, one with a British voice butchering some of the first chapter. it did show Rosweise putting a shield shaped(probably her dragon scale) to his chest as he was looking like he was going to die. later in the same video after he was awake she applied the dragon mark. So yes that would explain hers missing and why she was in a bad way in the now changed future.
