“I’m not worried about the world ending…”
“Just as it never worried about my ending.”
“Just as he never worried about Eve’s ending.”
As she spoke, Lilith pried apart the layers of branches and stepped out of her confinement.
With an indifferent expression, she stepped on the chains of the seal and looked down at the immobilized aside.
By now, the space-time around them had completely frozen, and was even beginning to slowly flow backward.
The shattered rails pieced themselves back together, strand by strand. The drifting flail flew slowly back to the end of the giant mace, like a bird returning home. The oncoming hurricane let loose the aurora, which shattered in midair like torn cloth, breaking into tiny fragments.
Time left scratches on Lilith’s cheeks.
She aged rapidly, wrinkles forming as her cheeks grew gaunt.
At the same time, her muscles shrank so quickly that she couldn’t hold on to the branches. She fell from the air and landed on the floor, gasping for breath.
The reversal spell seemed to place an especially heavy burden on her.
“Ha… ha.”
But then, strange green lightning erupted around Lilith with a thunderous crack. Its brilliant light was like a tiny black cat opening its emerald eyes in the dead of night.
Lilith forcibly used the reversal spell to restore her body to its peak condition.
In an instant, Lilith’s skin tightened again, becoming as smooth and delicate as a young girl’s.
She got to her feet and staggered over to the Murder Hornet. Then she gently laid her small palm against its body.
“Go back to where you came from.”
Soon, the Murder Hornet began to move again, as if it had been granted a reprieve from the frozen space-time.
But it wasn’t moving freely, or at will—
It was moving like disaster was upon it, like death was at its door.
It began to tremble like a leaf.
Its enormous body began to look as if—as if a fragile glass sculpture had just been struck by an axe. It cracked apart at once.
Cracks spread across the Murder Hornet’s body, splitting it into two completely different parts, like a piece of pottery.
One part angel, the other human organs.
Then, just as quickly, the angel vanished into nothingness, and the human organs were eroded away by the flood of time.
aside stared at Lilith in disbelief, as if she were looking at a madwoman.
“Now… it’s your turn.”
“You can go with it!”
Having destroyed the Murder Hornet, Lilith turned toward aside with a fierce look in her eyes.
She held out her right hand toward aside, and green lightning surged from every inch of her body with even greater force.
Blood spilled from her mouth, and her skin had taken on an unhealthy, ashen pallor, as if she’d overused the spell.
Within the green lightning, abstract Möbius strips made up of mathematical equations shimmered into view.
Among them were the mass-energy equivalence equation, Euler’s formula, Maxwell’s equations, the Boltzmann formula, and many others.
Those equations, complex yet elegant, poked out from Lilith’s skin like hooks sent to claim a life—like hungry wolves sticking out their tongues, eager to lick their prey.
“Everything in this three-dimensional world—all things—are nothing but ants on a string.”
“In that respect, you, a god, are no different in essence from a wild hare or a blade of grass.”
“And I, having transcended the three dimensions, am the god who stands above all strings.”
“I can kill you with a snap of my fingers.”
Lilith raised her hand high and brought it down toward aside in a slap.
“Goodbye, my twin brother.”
