"Is this a no-smoking area... and still researching Curseborn?"
".........."
Merka swallowed a mouthful of saliva, feeling much more shaken in his heart than he had imagined.
Trembling, he reached out his hand, trying to pull out the file pouch related to Curseborn research that was pressed under the bottom of the bookshelf.
Merka pressed his almost deformed little face against the mountain-like pile of files, reaching out with all his might, using his fingertips to laboriously drag out the bottommost roll of the file pouch.
Suddenly, a small snake slithered between the file pouches, bit onto the Curseborn file pouch, and dragged it out from inside.
"Isn't this data from the β level?"
"Sorry, if you were to see this, you probably wouldn't have the heart to continue."
"Hehe, this kind of information... is still too early for you."
The snake bit onto the Curseborn file pouch, and Lilyss swiftly pulled it back into her body. The file pouch was then thrown into Lilyss's hands.
"Why... why don't you let me see, what's the meaning of all this restrictions?"
"By restricting me like this, how am I supposed to find clues and move on to the next level?"
Merka's tone became more urgent and somewhat heavy.
He had never expected that Curseborn could still be related to the laboratory.
Could it be that the sufferings and criticisms he had endured in his youth all had origins and reasons?
What does this symbolize, Merka didn't dare to think.
He only knew that the injustices and unfairness he had suffered needed a way to be vented...
The idea, like the god of temptation and fall residing on the red powder in the midnight bar, was deeply imprinted in Merka's mind with just one glance, haunting him.
He reached out to grab the file pouch from Lilyss's hand, but Lilyss's hand inexplicably twisted and dodged Merka's attack, showing none of the weakness it had when saving Merka just now.
"These clues have nothing to do with whether you can enter the next level."
"When you reach the β level, you will naturally know about Curseborn."
Merka's icy gaze focused on Lilyss, not affecting the latter in any way.
Lilyss just gently shook her head.
Her slender neck subtly moved, emitting a faint greenish-blue glow.
This woman, on the surface, seemed as fragile as glass. If you weren't careful, you might mistake her for an ordinary harmless woman.
"Or, if you are so impatient..."
"Why not find the answers yourself, huh?"
Lilyss smiled, pointing to the door leading out of the room.
Merka looked at the door suspiciously and approached it. He noticed many scales written in English on the doorknob.
Merka could tell that the English words referred to different areas like Botanical Garden Area, Zoo Area, Concept Park Area, and so on...
But there was conspicuously no Curseborn Park Area as Merka had expected, replaced by a very simple word...
Hope Park.
"You recognize English, don't you?"
"I know Deling's proficiency in English is as strong as his ability to seduce girls~~"
Lilyss chuckled as she approached, standing behind Merka, guiding his hand to the doorknob.
"Turn the doorknob. Depending on how you turn it, you will be sent to different areas in the α level."
Lilyss whispered softly to Merka. Her cherry lips, as if they could spit out silk, were pressed tightly against Merka's earlobe.
Her moist breath seemed to drift from the celestial furnace, trying to lure Merka's soul away, beckoning him to ascend to the heavens.
"Without sacrifice... even if one possesses great ideas, they cannot become saints, cannot become truly perfect human beings."
"Die an unnatural death, without any hesitation."
"Knowing this well, can you resist this small test?"
Lilyss whispered softly.
Then, she controlled Merka's hand, turned the doorknob, twisting it to the scale of Hope.
She flung open the door, kicked Merka out of the wooden hut, and immediately closed the door.
