"Yanling... It's you."
Seeing Yanling beside him, Turing's temper suddenly softened and became much gentler.
Yanling gently furrowed her brows. She looked at Turing, exhausted but with affectionate eyes, feeling her own heart melting.
She hated herself for not being able to share Turing's pain, for watching such a remarkable girl endure suffering far beyond her years and capacity, yet feeling helpless.
Yanling realized that Turing had now turned into a very gentle girl.
But oddly, this made Yanling feel incredibly heartbroken...
Initially, Turing had suffered a lot due to the family competition, deprived even of the joy of childhood.
And now she was being asked to maintain a pleasant demeanor towards others, which seemed quite cruel, didn’t it?
Thinking so, Yanling took a damp towel from her nearby cart, sat next to Turing, and gently wiped her cold sweat.
"Miss, please don't torture yourself with unnecessary thoughts."
"Relax a bit, like you used to in your childhood, okay?"
"Be kind to yourself... I really feel for you."
While Yanling wiped Turing's body soaked with sweat, she chattered carelessly, much like a mother, offering inconsequential words of concern.
Yanling's touch was gentle, and without realizing it, she had almost finished wiping Turing.
She changed Turing's clothes and put the towel back in the basin on the small cart.
"Yanling, help me call Oedipus."
After a while of wiping, Turing grabbed Yanling's hand, signaling her to stop, and then spoke.
["Even though now I, like Oedipus, am scarred by man-made gods."]
["But I have confidence that the current me is certainly stronger than her."]
["If she dares to appear before me, I'll swiftly..."]
["Eliminate her."]
"Sigh..."
"Miss, you shouldn't refer to your mother by her name, especially now that she’s the ruler of a country. It’s even more improper."
"Her Majesty is busy with state affairs and not in Erisburg. You should take care of your health..."
"If you get yourself worked up, that would be truly regrettable."
["Not in the castle...?"]
["Why leave me alone in Erisburg."]
["Does her heart really hold so much?"]
["I don't believe it."]
Turing's lovely little face gradually became overshadowed by sorrow. She put a thumb near her mouth, anxiously nibbling at her nail.
["Even though I am weaker than before, I am still not comparable to the ordinary mages in Erisburg."]
["Has she left Kyopa's people...?"]
"That’s not enough."
["Even if she leaves all of Kyopa's elites..."]
["Even if I can’t win now, at least I can escape."]
["Could it be... Besides Beezelbub, does she have other aces?"]
Turing looked worriedly out of the window, lost in thought.
Seeing this, Yanling, feeling aggrieved, pursed her lips and moved closer to Turing.
She gently embraced Turing, holding her slender waist like snow, and slowly inhaled the addictively soft scent of Turing’s body.
She gently swayed Turing's body, as if comforting a child in a baby carriage.
"You had a fight with your mother, right?"
"Sorry, as just a humble maid, I can only understand so much about your current situation."
"But you shouldn't punish yourself with resentment towards your mother... really."
"You haven't eaten or drunk for days."
"Seeing you, I feel like I am enduring these torments too."
"Miss, consider it pity for Yanling, okay? Stop thinking about those things."
Yanling's eyes seemed to glisten with crystalline light. Turing dared not look closely, afraid of breaking the illusion.
Turning away, Turing silently gazed at the entangled garden of Erisburg outside the window, saying nothing.
"If you want to do something, I can accompany you."
Seeing Turing's silence, Yanling thought she had convinced Turing and continued earnestly.
"Do you want chocolate? Want to play puzzle games with Yanling?"
"Or do you want me to tell you fairy tales like when you were a child?"
"You used to love those stories. Every night..."
"Yanling."
Turing interrupted.
"Would you take me for a walk in the courtyard?"
