*Cough...*
"What... happened?"
*Cough, vomit...*
Merka finally came back to reality from the transcendent fear he had just faced, kneeling on the ground and panting heavily.
The surrounding grassland was burnt to a crisp, twisted flames of strange colors flickering among the grass and in the air, moving slowly.
Anyone with eyes could see that Merka was no longer under the tower of Nabo Temple, but had appeared on a hillside somewhere unknown.
"You almost died."
"Beelzebub is an impossible challenge for you..."
"This time, it's my fault, I didn't think it through."
Merka coughed for a while, his pupils trembling, his body numb, and he vomited several times, regurgitating the dry rations he had eaten in the morning.
Wiping his mouth, Merka rolled over and lay down on the charred grass, exhausted.
"So, what is happening now... Did I fail the mission?"
"Yes, you failed. But it's my fault, don't be disheartened."
The dark figure said earnestly.
"I just took control of the angel carried by your weakest holy relic, transformed it into an attack angel."
"Luckily, I acted fast, using it to open the portal in time, or I would have suffered the same fate."
"After all, Oedipus can use curses, and she likely has means to restrict me too."
The figure shook his head, speaking ruefully.
"Wait... Are you saying you can control angels, even control their powers? Then why didn't you say so earlier?"
Merka spat, lying on the ground, angrily addressing the dark figure.
"It's no use saying it. I can only control the weakest kind of angel, and changing it to attack mode only works for the weakest ones."
"Although in the Soul of Kagtua, I am not in charge of angels. But I still have some authority."
"When it was sent over just now, I had almost exhausted all the angel's magic."
The dark figure stood beside Merka, looking pensive into the distance.
Merka felt a bit discouraged, the impression left by Beelzebub just now was too deep.
"Are all angels... as powerful as Beelzebub?"
The dark figure glanced at the dejected Merka, saying calmly, "Let me give you an analogy."
"If my flesh is divided into five parts."
"Beelzebub takes one part for himself."
"Turing and Oedipus take one part together."
"The other seven major demons take one part together, excluding Oedipus."
"All the angels in the world together take two parts."
"In other words, Beelzebub firmly possesses one-fifth of the power of the gods."
"Do you now understand what level your opponent is?"
Merka felt somewhat despondent, not even having the strength to lift his head, just lying on the ground silently watching the blue sky above.
The dark figure, wise enough, said nothing and waited for Merka to adjust his mentality.
After a while, Merka finally spoke.
"By the way... where have we been transported to?"
"I don't know, I chose the place that left the deepest impression in the mind of the weakest angel you have."
The shadow replied, "The weakest of all... My weakest relic is from the Red Port calamity period, made from the relic of the little girl I couldn't save in the police station."
"I originally intended to remind myself... Never thought it would end up saving me instead."
Merka grimaced, tugging at his hair and slowly hammering his chest, sighing at his own powerlessness, while also hating the evil cunning of Oedipus.
"Wait, wouldn't the angel, as the angel of the locals in Red Port, leave the deepest impression in Red Port?" Merka realized something and suddenly sat up.
Looking down at the countless modern small buildings the size of peas at the foot of the hill, neon lights, a familiar feeling rushed over Merka.
Surveying the surroundings, Merka discovered that he was standing on the mountaintop behind Red Port, the place where Archangel had magically cut off half of the area back then.
"Yeah, what's the matter?" the shadow asked.
"I probably can't complete the three tasks now. It wouldn't be easy to find it in London, and Oedipus will surely have many defenses in place."
"The odds of defeating Oedipus may truly be slim to none."
"Even so, is there anything that can still excite you?" Merka grinned and excitedly said to the shadow, "Maybe there is... Follow me!"
