"That guy... that guy..." Diana clenched her teeth and watched Manchester's departure.
"How dare he speak to me like that!"
"It's true."
"People from Altria's faction seem as arrogant as Oedipus."
"Turing... is actually not too bad."
Diana sneered at Scarlett, who was squatting on the ground examining the girl's body.
"What do you know about Turing?"
"She is... she..."
Scarlett waved her hand, interrupting the long-winded speech that Diana was about to make.
"Diana, come and take a look."
"I found something strange."
Diana furrowed her brow and walked to Scarlett's side, looking in the direction she pointed.
"There's nothing... disgusting."
Scarlett unfolded the clothes that were mangled with flesh and blood on the corpse, and said to Diana, "It's strange because there's nothing."
"They've been here for so long, and they didn't even get a single badge?"
"If it was just one person, maybe it wouldn't be a big deal."
"But the key is that all three of them are like this."
Diana looked at Scarlett's profile in confusion and tentatively said, "Do you think this monster has something to do with the contestants?"
"Yes."
"And it's very likely related to the Altria family."
"Otherwise, why would Manchester be so anxious?"
"But whether it's really a monster is still debatable."
"It might just be a mage with battle scars that resemble a beast."
"After all, it's possible that it's not just us who were prepared."
"Since Oedipus agreed to the competition, she must be very confident."
"Even if Turing had a bodyguard or something... it's still possible, right?"
"... Shut up." Diana said impatiently.
"What kind of person Turing is, do you think I'm not aware?"
"Even if Oedipus is willing, she would never agree to such a thing."
"She would never tolerate... a false victory."
Scarlett looked at the saddened and muttering Diana, and was slightly taken aback. Just when she was about to retort, Scarlett heard Diana's walkie-talkie ringing.
Diana let out a sigh of relief, gave Scarlett, who had closed her mouth, a cold look, and answered the walkie-talkie.
"Lord Galleher, I have something important to tell you."
The melodious voice of Galleher came from the other end of the walkie-talkie.
"Turing Altria might not be in this mountain at all."
Diana and Scarlett glanced at each other, their expressions becoming increasingly solemn.
"How did you figure it out?"
"I don't really have absolute proof to show this..."
"But there have been many signs pointing to that."
"We've set many traps and installed lots of monitors."
"Not to mention that the entire mountain behind us is covered. But based on our hunting experience, we have set up ambushes on all the necessary routes."
"But we haven't found any trace of Turing."
"And there's one more thing, we once captured a prisoner related to the Altria family."
"Although we let him escape in the end, he confessed that Turing is not in the mountains."
"I think this is probably nonsense meant to confuse me, but he may also be using my psychology against me."
"Overall, I think the probability of Turing not being in the mountains is higher."
"What do you think?"
"..." Diana didn't speak, the veins in her neck bulged, her face turned pale. Scarlett beside her gulped, she was really afraid that Diana would crush the walkie-talkie in her hand out of anger.
"All right, Turing, do you... look down on me like this?"
"What's going on now..."
"Do I need to use these petty tricks to defeat you?"
Scarlett snatched the walkie-talkie from Diana's hand and spoke to Mulan on the other end, "Hey, is it Mulan?"
"Use your surveillance to help me find a very powerful monster."
"It should be four-legged, with a wide mouth that can swallow people directly."
"If you can find Manchester, you should be able to find it. Manchester is currently hunting down this monster."
"Understood." Mulan responded and hung up the phone.
"Diana, calm down and listen to me." Scarlett put down the walkie-talkie, gently touching Diana's narrow shoulder, shaking her gently.
"If Turing is not here, it's okay."
"Didn't I tell you before we set off? Be prepared for setbacks."
"Now we need to consider cutting our losses in time."
"Even if she's really not here, we need to find evidence that she isn't."
"And then at the closing ceremony of the competition, we can humiliate Turing for not daring to participate. Isn't that the same thing?"
"That competitive person, enduring such humiliation, will surely have a diminished performance at the fireworks festival race."
"Oedipus may have planned well."
"But now Manchester is in such a hurry, maybe it's because of this monster that something went wrong."
"We can make our move before Manchester and find their weaknesses."
"But if you let anger cloud your judgment now, you're falling right into their trap."
"Do you understand?"
Watching Diana gradually lower her head and relax her brow, Scarlett finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"Kill three birds with one stone... Which three birds?" the shadow asked Merka.
Merka flew into the treehouse and quickly knocked out two guards.
With such weak opponents, Merka could easily defeat them even with simple magic spells.
And with the assistance of the vine-like gears on the shadow's body, they couldn't even call for help with the walkie-talkie.
"You can read minds, can't you?"
"Just take a look."
The shadow shrugged indifferently.
Merka walked past the unconscious pair and headed deeper into the treehouse. He realized that what he had detected earlier beneath the treehouse was just the tip of the iceberg – there were many weapons hidden here that Merka could not have even imagined.
"Tear gas, sleeping spray, Gatling guns, and..."
"Also harpoon guns."
"There are several big crates of harpoon guns here, and this piece of paper attached to them is the instruction manual."
Merka couldn't make out the words written on the paper, so the shadow read it out for him.
Merka was truly embarrassed. With the complete set of equipment here, they could be ready for war.
"Nevermind, let's quickly go collect the badges."
Merka looked at the flickering screens not far away, where several girls were trapped in traps in different scenes.
"As long as I collect fifty badges, even in the worst-case scenario, I will be tied for first place."
