Diana's words were as prominent as a moon rising from a cluster of stars, and everyone around looked at her in astonishment, hearing the resolute questioning voices. Even Scarlett, who was by her side, was startled and pulled her arm tightly, as if still in shock.
Who is Oedipus? He is the only clan leader in recorded history to have served three terms. Her perfection is not enough to be compared to the vast sky and the bright moon.
Everything she says seems to come true, giving people a sense of reality surrendering beneath her feet.
She says that the war will fail, and it does;
She says that opening the port will eliminate the trade deficit, and it does;
She says that the cursed children are a lower race, and indeed they begin to become hypocritical and deceitful, burning, killing, and plundering.
By her side, you would unconsciously pay attention to every word she says.
You are afraid that she will once again perform a miraculous prophecy, and you happen to miss it, missing the chance to take flight on the wind.
"You are too impulsive, you..." Scarlett panicked, trying to break the awkward silence around and taking the lead in reproaching Diana with a self-punishing attitude.
But Diana remained unmoved, riding tall and proud, as steady as a weathered stone sculpture.
"The daughter of Galleher, hmm?"
A fainting fragrance interrupted Scarlett's impending words.
In an instant, everyone's eyes were deceived, as no retina could accept such exaggerated and incredible information, focusing instead on Oedipus's almost ethereal form.
The abundant magical fluctuation was as profound and dark as the sea, mixed in the fresh breeze that seemed to rot in the next second.
Oedipus' pure speed broke through the sound barrier, but she gently protected this terrifying power like the bud of a flower.
When everyone came to their senses, Oedipus had already arrived by Diana's side. She sat sideways on the horse's neck, dismounting from Diana's horse.
Her fair and slender leg lightly touched the horse saddle on one side of its waist, as if there was no weight at all.
"I'm very familiar with you."
"Unlike my little daughter who throws a temper with just a bit of talent and luck."
"You are a moldable talent who will become great in due time."
The whole room erupted in a commotion, and many women who knew Diana's identity instantly lost color on their faces - another noble.
Nobles crying out unfairness for something seemingly unfair among nobles is simply a behind-the-scenes power play, an old act. It has nothing to do with the true commoners, like them.
"But, if you keep throwing temper tantrums, your tolerance will diminish."
"A lake the size of the sea, if it continues to dwindle, will also become a withered husk."
"Still, I hope you don't do something foolish like that."
Oedipus lowered her voice, locking the conversation in a space where only the two of them could hear.
"Take a look..."
Oedipus extended her hand, as if it were about to condense frost and snow, gently pushing away Diana's neatly pressed military uniform, revealing the handgun hidden in her lining.
"So I said being clever doesn't help."
"I just said that you can only bring a hunting rifle, didn't I?"
"You're carrying such a small, malicious, and inconspicuous weapon."
"Whom do you want to hurt?"
Diana slightly flared her nostrils and stared quietly at Oedipus's downcast eyes.
Any onlooker would think that they were discussing something important.
"Ah, I see."
"You want to test if what I said is true."
"Is it?"
"And you're using such a crude deception to hide the gun."
"Do you think I wouldn't notice even the slightest magical fluctuation?"
Oedipus inconspicuously pushed the gun back into Diana's arms from an angle that no one could see.
"Since you think it's unfair for me to host the competition."
"Then you can keep the gun."
"After all, you're so weak."
Oedipus smiled quietly, like a mist-covered forest towering majestically.
Twilight death and mystery emanated from there, even the Grim Reaper had to retreat.
But Diana was more like a brave warrior, facing this maze of confusion and blindness.
Oedipus gracefully dismounted, bowed lightly, and departed leisurely.
"You scared me, Diana." Scarlett's deep pupils stared at Diana, who remained unfazed, and nervously said.
"Don't you know about Altria..."
"I think she's not as formidable as before." Diana suddenly said.
"What?" Scarlett hurriedly rode closer to Diana, afraid of what she might say next.
"She's not as terrifying as she used to be."
"She didn't need magic before to intimidate others."
"Just her language and charisma... was enough to make people submit."
"It might just be an illusion...either way, let's wait and see."
Diana proudly raised her head, her two eyes exuding a captivating soul.
They slowly controlled their horses, following the rest of the troops and slowly passing through the entrance of the rear mountain.
With Diana and Scarlett, who were at the end of the team, entering the arena, the competition officially began.
