The army is on the verge of collapse.

On the same day, at ten minutes to eight in the morning.

The main force of over a hundred thousand Dibiles received a plea for help from the Murin Duchy.

Upon seeing the heavily wounded messenger, the commander of the main force knew the situation was dire.

Due to the main force's close proximity to the Duchy's capital, the commander decided to go support the royal city.

But before that, this battle-hardened army needed to repel the Inran army blocking their path ahead.

The Inran army had launched a sudden attack; despite facing an unexpected assault, after over forty minutes into the battle, the initiative on the battlefield still remained in the hands of the Dibiles army.

This situation arose mainly because the overall combat power of the Dibiles main force was superior to the similarly sized elite forces of Inran.

Even with equal numbers, the Dibiles army would not lose to Inran's forces; especially now, with Inran's soldiers numbering only slightly over seventy thousand after the previous blows dealt by the royal husbands.

If the battle continued in this manner, by the end of the day, Dibiles' main force would be able to defeat the enemy and rush to support elsewhere.

Unfortunately, the formidable enemies they would face were not just human...

Just as the overall commander of the army was preparing to strike further blows against the enemy, a messenger arrived with news that drained all color from the commander's face.

Suddenly, a large number of demons appeared at the rear of their army.

Before reporting, the messenger estimated that there were tens of thousands of demons.

Tens of thousands of demons, a force equivalent to hundreds of thousands, even over a hundred thousand human troops!

“Why have demons become the enemies of our army?”

The leader on the Dibiles side had anticipated the enemy force maneuvering to their rear at some point, hence they had already arranged a defensive unit against rear assaults.

However, to ensure victory on the front lines, the commander couldn’t allocate too many troops, so there were only about twenty thousand soldiers in the rear.

Twenty thousand soldiers, even if they were formidable, could not overcome the thousands of demons.

Now, those remaining in the rear could only stake their lives to try to stop the advance of the demons.

Leading the demon army was a vanguard of over ten thousand gray wolves, nearly two meters long.

They bared their sharp fangs, drooling sticky saliva, and after assuming a charging posture, they launched their attack.

All these wolves were classified as “fierce” demons.

Accompanying them were green-furred gorillas nearly five meters tall, each boasting an extra stout arm protruding from the center of their chests, in addition to their two strong arms.

Although their numbers were half of the wolves, their individual strength was more formidable, often reaching “killer-level”!

Demons were generally classified into three levels, from weak to strong: Fierce → Killer → Horrifying.

Those classified as “Horrifying” demons were capable of single-handedly decimating a large kingdom, with historical records of these appearing solo.

However, never before had they heard of such high-level demons appearing in a group.

Overall, “killer-level” was the highest level most demons could reach.

Now, in the rear of the battlefield, cries of wolves echoed continuously.

One by one, bulky gray wolves targeted the "prey" ahead, pouncing together as a group.

Bright traces of light flickered as soldiers wielded their weapons, ruthlessly slashing at the bodies of the wolves.

In a flash, many wolves were torn in half in mid-air;

Blood blossomed in the sky, the halved wolf bodies falling to the ground like sacks filled with sand, with a loud “thud”;

Many wolves, even in their dying breaths, spurted blood from their mouths, emitting a few mournful cries, struggling to stand up until they perished.

The soldiers of Dibiles would repulse one gray wolf only to find another leaping high and lunging forward before they could launch their next attack.

Many soldiers caught a glimpse of the fierce wolf leaping high;

However, their bodies could not match that speed.

In the next moment, many fell prey, instantly losing vitality as claws struck fatal areas.

Facing just one attack from the demon army, Dibiles already suffered over two thousand casualties.

While nearly four thousand wolves lost their lives in return;

Against the overwhelming number of demons, the soldiers’ battle lines were continuously breached.

Green gorillas with three arms wielded their limbs like weapons, causing blood to spray within the battle formation.

For over half an hour, demons turned one warrior after another into corpses, trampling over them with their limbs, forcing the remaining two thousand to a dead-end.

“Your Majesty, we will serve you in the next life…”

Prepared for sacrifice, the young woman in command of the rear troops raised her blood-stained weapon;

She prepared to engage in the final battle of her life with her fellow companions!

Once the rear army was wiped out, the demon legion would advance from the battlefield rear, coordinating with the Inran army's attack;

At that point, the entire battle situation would be reversed.

To put it bluntly:

If the situation evolved as such, this army, the very foundation of the Dibiles nation, would suffer complete defeat at the hands of the enemy after suffering heavy losses!
