Woosh!

Not long ago, eight sharks had surrounded Wang Xiaole, with the only one that had yet to join the circle now ready to initiate action.

This particular shark wasn't aiming for Wang Xiaole, but rather for his weakness, Mewo White on his back!

Its sharp teeth lunged from behind Wang Xiaole, targeting Mewo White who couldn't open her eyes underwater, preparing to crush her with its sharp fangs.

Due to the underwater environment, the sound of water flow impaired Mewo White's perception, leaving her unaware of being targeted.

Unaware of the danger she was in, she naturally did not use any forbidden spells;

and in this situation, Mewo White was undeniably vulnerable.

She was swift and agile in her movements, but in a motionless state, she was as fragile as a thin piece of paper;

in contrast, the shark's sharp fangs were like a sharp knife;

once that edge made actual contact with Mewo White's body, the consequences were foreseeable.

Moreover, this particular shark harbored a vengeful determination for its compatriots, charging ahead regardless of anything, making evading its attack almost impossible.

Later on, it successfully sank its teeth, tearing the skin and flesh apart, letting the taste of blood spread in its mouth.

The shark widened its eyes filled with murderous intent, not out of excitement, but out of surprise.

While its bite was true, it did not injure Mewo White as expected; instead, it witnessed an unexpected scene, locking eyes with Wang Xiaole at that moment.

Just two or three seconds ago, the shark had lunged towards Mewo White to bite, emitting a murderous aura that Wang Xiaole sensed, prompting him to react swiftly.

Given the circumstances:

Wang Xiaole did not have the time to help Mewo White dodge the attack;

Furthermore, due to the short distance between the shark and Mewo White, the sharp teeth that had already bitten down needed to stay on one target to be effective.

Would signaling Mewo White through physical movements for her to fend for herself be a viable plan?

Equally impossible!

Wang Xiaole, having the time to signal, had already split the shark in half with his sword.

At that moment, Wang Xiaole had only two choices:

Either:

Helplessly accept the result of Mewo White getting injured or severely wounded, then turn that anger into strength to mercilessly retaliate against her assailant.

Or:

Considering that his own flesh wasn't that precious, losing a piece wouldn't matter much, he instantly turned around and exchanged positions with Mewo White, allowing the shark to bite him in the following moment.

At the crucial moment of decision-making, Wang Xiaole, following Cai, the Shaman, happily decided on the latter option.

And thus came the ensuing "splut" sound!

Although Wang Xiaole had the basic protection of his own Holy Power, it was only a reflex action, so he couldn't rely on that protection to be very effective.

After a few teeth of the shark shattered upon biting, the remaining sharp ones pierced through the protection and directly bit into Wang Xiaole's arm.

Now, his left hand held up in front of him was a blurred mess of blood and flesh, whether seen from afar or up close.

The blood shed by Wang Xiaole was not very conspicuous underwater, quickly mixing with the nearby clear water. However, in the pupils of the shark, there was still a terrifying blood-red color lingering. It was clear to the shark that the vivid color reflected in its eyes came from the iris of the human in front of it, a hue even brighter than blood red.

Wang Xiaole was increasingly aware that the shark in front of him did not intend to grant him a quick and painless death. Without waiting for the other shark in the vicinity to aid in the attack, he began his retaliation. Raising his sword, he struck with unprecedented force towards the ferocious target.

Previously, he had no intention of wasting time dealing with the school of fish; his usual approach was to simply kill them off. But now, for at least the shark in front of him, Wang Xiaole believed that directly hacking it to death was not enough, and hacking it to pieces was even insufficient.

Wang Xiaole never imagined that he could wield his sword with such speed, almost slashing three times in a second. Within fifteen seconds, he had dismembered the shark from whole to several parts, from parts to fragments, not even sparing dust in the end.

The last shark midway had contemplated attacking while the opportunity presented itself, but it froze in terror at Wang Xiaole's brutal actions before it could come close. Though a predator, it too was awestruck and horrified by the human's cruelty.

Five seconds remained. Wang Xiaole turned to swiftly kill the lingering final target that had yet to regain its senses, leaving an expression of shock on its face in its moment of demise.

At this moment, Mewo White, unaware of her big brother's injury but struggling to hold her breath for three minutes, was beginning to falter. The demand of breath-holding was exceedingly harsh for such a young girl; her ability to endure until now was truly remarkable.

Wang Xiaole had yet to find an escape route, and it seemed he would need more time. However, Mewo White was unlikely to last until then.

Although Wang Xiaole could use magic to replenish oxygen underwater for himself, it could only be applied to himself. Teaching Mewo White magic on the spot was obviously out of the question due to the time constraints.

Now, what could he do?

In the end, Wang Xiaole could only resort to a solution that was not really a solution. With a heavy heart, he cradled Mewo White in his arms, watching as her face gradually lost color, and eventually made a fateful decision.

Placing two fingers on Mewo White's upper and lower lips, slightly apart, he formed a V shape; this action caused Mewo White to open her mouth gently. Anticipating water flowing in, he took the initiative by pressing his lips against hers before she could react, ensuring his tongue extended to block her petite tongue, preventing her from closing her lips out of confusion.

The small body in his arms continued to sway, which indeed was a problem;

so, he had to hold Mewo White closer in a more intimate posture, almost reaching the level of pressing against each other, his body close to intertwining with hers.

This was not a kiss;

the person in question repeated in his mind, this really wasn't a kiss, at most it could be called artificial respiration!

If there were any slurping sounds during the process, he believed it must be the sound of water flowing around, there could be no other explanation besides that!

After a while, Mewo White's pale face started to regain some color, realizing that "Big Brother" was trying to help her, so she allowed him to continue.

Undoubtedly, Mewo White was clueless about the meaning behind this behavior, just thinking that she was being taken care of by "Big Brother" once again.

Two minutes later, Wang Xiaole ended the intimacy...the artificial respiration.

Thanks to his help, Mewo White could hold on for a few more minutes;

and he himself, due to providing too much oxygen, remained in place for over ten seconds before adjusting himself.

Just as he was about to swim again, suddenly, a powerful presence descended upon the area;

the feeling it brought was far more terrifying than the previous shark.

Currently, the water mist from the previous battle had completely dissipated, clearing Wang Xiaole's vision.

And just then, before Wang Xiaole could take action, a suffocating aura was released without restraint;

soon after, a shark, about one and half meters long, appeared from a distance.

It was a silver shark, with silver skin visible on the surface, different from the previous shark Wang Xiaole had encountered, but still adorned with a golden horn.

With the help of some idiotic goddess' memory, Wang Xiaole learned the name of this creature:

Silver Shark King – a "Terrifying-Level" monster, which, in the general concept of the continent, meant possessing power equivalent to "Nation-Toppling."

In other words:

This seemingly cute, one and a half meter long Shark King was of the same level as the White Bear;

such strength, if in the outside world, would be capable of single-handedly challenging one of the countries of the "Three Empires."

At this moment, the Shark King was staring at Wang Xiaole and Mewo White.

Its two silver eyes exuded a silent coercion;

at first glance, this Shark King might appear adorable indeed;

but when most people looked into its eyes, they would inevitably feel a fear from the depths of their souls.

Not just fear, but also terror!

This Shark King was without a doubt the strongest monster Wang Xiaole had encountered so far.

If Wang Xiaole wanted to proceed further, he had to inevitably fight it;

this battle could not be avoided, even if he was running out of time.

This Shark King, which came following the scent of its compatriots' blood, did not intend to seek revenge, but out of a strong being's responsibility, it aimed to take down the powerful human before it.

In the confrontation between the two powerhouses, suddenly, from the depths of the Shark King's eyes, a silver halo appeared it was attacking.

Even though the speed of the halo's approach was slow, the moment it was launched, it restricted Wang Xiaole's movements, as if being constrained by an external force.

In the silver halo, just as it was about to reach the target, Wang Xiaole's body suddenly shook, and immediately, the surrounding area was filled with the sound of roaring waves, causing nearby water to flow back in reverse.

The source of the fluctuations came from the holy power within Wang Xiaole's body. This power surged out, shattering the halo before it could hit its target.

The halo transformed into silver flying ash, falling all over the bottom of the water;

In an instant, it seemed as if there were countless explosions, causing a resounding boom throughout the underwater world.

Before the time was right to slowly attack, Wang Xiaole immediately adopted a swift strategy, sword in hand, moving forward, aiming a blow at the shark king's head.

In a split second, the shark king made a move that was hard to anticipate, spinning its body while swimming, controlling its tail to bend forward and block the space between its head and the sword edge.

Clang!

Although the sharpness of its tail could not compare to the pitch-black long sword, it still managed to block the first strike of the sword.
