What kind of experience is it to see a ghost?
update icon Updated at 2025/12/12 5:00:02

Once upon a time:

On the other side of the city, on the other side of the street, there was a female ghost

She was introverted and intelligent

She was withdrawn and sensitive

She marched forward bravely on the journey out the door

Oh, the nearby Flora...

Who remembers this young lady?

Back then, Wang Xiaole and others believed the lies of the real estate agency staff and entered a haunted mansion in search of a new place to live.

In that old mansion that was long neglected and stirred up dust with just a few steps, Wang Xiaole and the others met a new face.

She was none other than the true owner of the mansion, Flora, a foreign noble who had moved to Dibiles;

Flora may not have been able to adapt to her new living environment after moving, which led to her lacking the courage to leave her home and make friends with the locals.

This is quite normal; it takes time to adapt to a new environment;

Initially, Flora firmly believed:

As long as she gave herself some time, all the bad situations would gradually improve with time.

Flora convinced herself of this.

After relaxing, she decided that one day soon, she would start a fierce struggle that belonged to her.

But this relaxation lasted a whole fifty years!

Until her body completely decayed and transformed into a ghost, Flora never overcame herself.

Upon realizing she had become a ghost, Flora felt sad and regretful;

But in the end:

She chose to become a lazy fish, adopting a self-abandoning attitude towards life, and spent her days lying on the sofa at home.

This decadent lifestyle would only change much later.

The person who brought about this tremendous change was named Wang Xiaole.

After listening to Flora's past experiences, Wang Xiaole couldn't help but feel sympathy and decided to make up for her regrets.

Didn't Flora say:

She never had a friend and never invited anyone to play at home?

That great regret, nearly numbing, was genuinely filled that night.

Not only did Wang Xiaole want to play with Flora, but he also enlisted Lucia and Freya to join Flora's "ghost-catching" game.

After a fun play session, Flora was surprised to find:

She actually had friends now!

Acquiring valuable friendships, Flora felt very happy.

As a noble who believed in repaying kindness, Flora obviously couldn't settle for being taken care of by friends alone.

She wanted to repay her friends well, and among the three recipients, her first friend was naturally the one Flora valued the most.

Flora intended to repay Wang Xiaole well.

But how should she repay him?

After a long (less than three minutes) deliberation, Flora came to a familiar conclusion:

Helping a friend find an excellent partner is the best way to repay them!

Perhaps by coincidence:

At some point, a certain orange cat had thought the same and acted accordingly.

Therefore:

A few days ago, Mewo White, the cat-eared loli, became part of Wang Xiaole's new life and developed a relationship where they shared meals and living quarters.

Unfortunately, the ginger cat didn't know Flora; otherwise, if these two had the chance to meet, they would have been able to exchange insights on that aspect. But I digress. Nowadays, Flora is clad in a gray coat paired with a fur hat and cotton trousers. She sits on a carriage heading towards the Inran Empire, in search of a suitable person for her friend. The ensemble is intended to conceal Flora's ghostly identity. Especially in this season where her thick, horrifying winter clothes cover her almost translucent skin, along with her concealed face, Flora has reason to believe that her identity will not be discovered by anyone.

This is Flora's first long journey since moving. Despite being a noblewoman with somewhat lacking common sense, she still understands some of the most basic principles while away from home. For instance, the friendly individual who greeted her just now is the driver of the carriage. Despite the female driver's amiable demeanor, Flora deeply understands that if she doesn't pay for the ride, even with her noble status, she may still be thrown off the carriage by the driver. Yes, payment is necessary!

With this in mind, Flora takes out her wallet, retrieves an ancient coin, and hands the fare to the carriage driver. The driver, upon receiving the money, should have acted immediately to get the passenger to their destination as soon as possible. However, at the next moment, the driver's actions halted. The sole reaction that she hadn't left her body was evident in the driver's hands trembling violently.

The carriage driver, though young, entered this profession out of necessity to carry on the family business. Having seen many customers, the driver had gained some worldly experience. As a seasoned individual, when the driver accepted the currency and glanced at it in their palm, they were immediately shocked. The coin had a significant background: approximately sixty-one years ago, the Inran Empire officially issued and circulated this type of currency in the market. Its economic status had been replaced about twenty years ago. To eliminate the old currency completely from the market, the Inran Royal Family spared no expense to retrieve it massively from the public. Today, old coins have become historical artifacts and can only be found in the homes of certain collectors.

The carriage driver couldn't believe that just by going out to pick up a fare, they could obtain such a valuable coin, akin to an antique artifact. Furthermore, it seemed that the customer had no intention of receiving change! This felt like striking it rich; it was a windfall awaiting the carriage driver.

For a considerable time, the driver intended to accept this "fortune" and daydreamed about a luxurious life ahead. However, in a moment of reflection, the sincere teachings of Queen Isabella towards her subjects quietly emerged in the driver's mind. Despite the Queen's lengthy speech, it can be summarized that she emphasized the core message: earning wealth must be done with integrity, and every good and hardworking citizen of Dibiles should not accept such a windfall without conscience!

In the eyes of other citizens:

This kind of boring sermon that hinders one's own wealth creation is simply more worthless than non-recyclable garbage.

However!

Isabella is the kind of national idol-level emperor.

The citizens of Dibiles from top to bottom are almost all passionate fans of the queen, including this ordinary carriage driver.

"I cannot betray Her Majesty the Queen, let alone ignore my own conscience!"

Flora was looking out the window, when suddenly she heard a roaring shout.

Under the roar, Flora's shoulders tensed in surprise, and in a flash, she misunderstood the other party as preparing to commit a crime.

Flora hugged her shoulders with both arms, determined to defend her precious purity with actual action.

"Sir!"

The carriage driver quickly turned on the horse, leaning closer to Flora's upper body.

Flora shouted with a trembling voice:

"I'm telling you clearly: I am not interested in that kind of stuff, so don't mess with me!"

Honestly, the carriage driver couldn't understand what the customer was saying, and just after getting into a fervent state, he aggressively approached.

"Stay away, stay away!"

Flora felt like she was about to cry.

Just then:

The hat on her head and the glasses, after a strong shake, both fell off at the same instant.

Inevitably, Flora's pale, almost translucent cheeks were completely exposed to the carriage driver's eyes.

With the help of the light from the illuminating crystals inside the carriage, the carriage driver could vaguely see that the face in front of him seemed to be reflecting light from time to time, the eerie white filling the entire carriage.

"Ghosty-y-y-y-y (omitting over fifty "y" sounds)!"

Since she was young, the carriage driver had shown courage different from ordinary people, not only unafraid of ghosts and spirits, but actively seeking traces of those creatures.

This brave habit remained unchanged even after she grew up.

Before today, to pass the boring time on the road, the carriage driver often bought thriller books in advance;

After buying these books, whenever it was late at night, with the quiet surroundings or the chilly wind blowing around, she would pick up the book and read a few pages to invigorate her mind.

But until today, more precisely half a minute ago, she deeply realized:

She liked to read ghost stories, yes, but compared to actual "entities," the level of excitement was at least within acceptance, unlike the current situation which was too thrilling.

She felt overwhelmed, and the taste of fear for Flora was nowhere near good;

After all, that bout of yelling was harmful even to her auditory senses (even if it was ghostly hearing).

Flora tightly covered her ears, and the moment when she no longer needed to raise her hands was the instant when the external noise dissipated.

The yelling - could no longer be heard!

Flora didn’t pay much attention, but the carriage driver, indeed, due to excessive fright, had passed out in the previous moment, now lying unconscious inside the carriage.

"My fault?"

Flora pointed to herself with her finger, then, almost as if accepting it, gently nodded in acknowledgment of her own accusation.

After putting the hat and sunglasses back on, Flora lifted the carriage driver and let her lie in a reclined position in the carriage.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you when I went out..."

Flora stepped down from the carriage, speaking words that no one could hear and performing bows that no one could see. In order to compensate for the poor victim, she stuffed a few more coins into the person's pocket.

“Hope you won't be left with any psychological scars in the future!” The final blessing slowly dissipated into the night. Feeling the cool breeze blowing around her, Flora, shaking her head in confusion, muttered to herself: “Lost my only employer, only to end up in this border area between two countries. What should I do next?”

“Nowhere to go, are you?” Startled someone earlier, Flora was now startled herself by the sudden voice coming from behind her. Before long, as she turned around, the young woman she saw was drawn directly by the piercing scream that had echoed for hundreds of meters.

At that moment, Flora encountered destiny; not her own, but a decisive destiny linked to the friend of Wang Xiaole!
