"Stole someone else's fiancée and still pretending like nothing happened!"

This was the accusation the man in white had made against Wang Xiaole back in the world of illusion.

While Wang Xiaole did listen to those words attentively, he didn't take them to heart much;

at that time, he just thought of the other man as a lunatic with a gutter oil soaked brain.

But tonight, upon hearing Charley's response and recalling past memories, he finally understood:

"So I wrongly accused that guy..."

Not long ago, Charley mentioned:

She knew Wang Xiaole from a past life, and at that time, they had a sinful relationship.

Assuming this to be true, if Charley didn't just casually make it up, one could roughly piece together this layer of relationship:

In the past life, an unexpected chance encounter made Charley fall for Wang Xiaole, leading her to emotionally betray her fiancé;

If this relationship holds true, then:

Wang Xiaole unintentionally put a green hat on the man in white, causing him to harbor long-lasting resentment!

Thinking of this, he could feel a few drops of sweat seeping from his face in this cold environment.

"Um, Charley, if you ever meet that guy, please apologize on my behalf;

the past me in our previous life was too young and inadvertently did something to hurt him."

Wang Xiaole indeed had a liking for pretty girls, but had no interest in snatching someone else's fiancée;

especially one who was only a fiancée in name, he wanted to avoid provoking her even more, as it would seem like bullying the victim.

"Why does Xiaole care about that useless guy's feelings? I don't care at all!"

"No, no, Charley, you still care a little bit."

Wang Xiaole shook his head and waved his hand, his reaction in stark contrast to Charley's:

Charley always spoke about the stranger in a detached manner, seemingly indifferent to trampling on someone's dignity.

"I really don't understand Charley's attitude, you're being too nonchalant. Don't you care about the feelings of your fiancé?"

"Originally, that useless guy was forced onto me by my elders, and initially, I did plan to marry him at some point."

"Why did you change your mind later on?"

"Ask Xiaole about that!"

Charley's meaningful gaze treated him as the main culprit;

and upon analyzing the causes and consequences of the incident, Wang Xiaole seemed to have no way to prove his innocence.

"I had decided to accept my fate initially. Coincidentally, at that time, you, Xiaole, were fighting for your own feelings without holding back..."

Charley pointed at her cheek, as if painting circles on her lips with her fingertip, feeling pleasure:

"Your personal experience reminded me, Xiaole: if you dare to fight against the world for the sake of the woman you love, why should I just obediently follow this damned world?"

"The more I think about it, the more it seems like I led you onto a thief ship."

"Live life to the fullest! Why bother with the rest?"

Being willful and living in the moment, this was Charley's life philosophy.

Wang Xiaole had no intention of belittling the girl;

because he knew, in some ways, he was similar to Charley.

"The final question."

Wang Xiaole licked his lips with his tongue.

Interestingly, his mouth, up to this point, no longer felt dry, yet it still moistened his lips slightly.

"If I didn't mishear: Charley just mentioned 'I dare for the woman I love,' here, this 'woman,' isn't referring to yourself?"

"Not me!"

If possible, Charley would rather replace that rival herself;

and the specific meaning of "replace" is not to become someone's substitute;

Charley wanted to completely surpass the other in matters of the heart, to completely erase the rival's presence through this "total victory" approach.

"It turns out that the me from my past life didn't like Charley... I can be relieved about that! Also, is the woman Charley mentioned also reincarnated?"

"What more is there to say now?"

Since hearing the final question, a trace of displeasure rarely appeared in Charley's facial expression;

and her tone could prove her current emotions:

"Xiaole and her aren't living under the same roof? Are you pretending not to know?"

"Pretending not to know... I truly don't understand."

That was just a brief moment of surprise;

especially when this reaction surfaced on Charley's face, it gave the onlooker a fleeting impression.

"Are you two still not recognizing each other? Hoho, hohoho."

Today and any day before, because of Wang Xiaole, Charley had laughed many times;

however, among them, none could bring her more joy than her current mood.

"So happy, really happy! Now it seems that she and I are starting from the same line."

Just based on that brief moment's impact on her mood, Charley dared to conclude that she would sleep very sweetly tonight.

And once her mood improved, her attitude towards Wang Xiaole became even more warm.

Charley cupped Wang Xiaole's face in her hands, kneading it as if it were dough, displaying a clear possessiveness.

Wang Xiaole felt like pork belly being eyed by a tigress;

he stared at Charley disdainfully for a few seconds before she stepped back and turned away.

"Let's leave it at that for tonight, Xiaole, you can go to sleep now, I'll come find you next time;

and depending on the situation, we might use the regular channels."

With a smile blooming on her face, Charley waved ahead to bid farewell;

in contrast, Wang Xiaole's parting response seemed slightly more formal:

"Goodbye!"

Wang Xiaole didn't mind saying those two words, and he was also reluctant to say anything more.

He was friendly to girls, except there were exceptions;

and the deeply hidden Charley across from him happened to be that exception.

The moonlight's radiance was once again obscured by the dark clouds from this moment on.

But who knows:

the current dim scene might actually be most suitable for this evening.

Two figures departing like this was not the first time, promptly heading towards their respective destinations.

Though there was a certain distance between them and the window, it didn't pose a challenge for the parties involved.

Without hesitation, Wang Xiaole swiftly darted forward, catching hold of the window edge with an outstretched hand and smoothly maneuvering his whole body through.

In the moment before he returned to the bedside and prepared to lie down, he couldn't help but recall the words he had heard earlier:

"Isn't Xiaole living under the same roof with her?"

According to Charley, among the people currently lying in the room, one of them was the girl he had liked in his previous life.

Such remarks always stirred curiosity, but only for a brief moment.

Before long, Wang Xiaole dismissed the comment as if he hadn't heard it, completely accepting:

"Whether reincarnation is real or not doesn't matter!

I am who I am now, I don't want to know who I used to like, I just want to cherish the people I meet now."

After discarding irrelevant memories into the "dumpster" in his mind, Wang Xiaole laid back on the bed without a care.

He looked at the girls sleeping comfortably beside him and soon drifted into a peaceful slumber...
