The orange cat (female) really has no sense of direction.
Originally, when it set off from the Dibiles border, it should have been able to reach the orc's border camp and see the princess with a short amount of time.
But the directionally challenged orange cat seemed to not understand the concept of "the shortest distance between two points", and instead took a big detour in its mind.
So instead of going straight, it foolishly headed north at the beginning of the journey.
Although later, due to a fortuitous event, the orange cat was accidentally picked up by the princess, it seemed that it did not learn from the experience.
On the way, not only did the orange cat lose the princess;
It looked around and found itself back in the same forest, with the same unfamiliar natural environment.
"Meow meow (This is impossible, where should I go? Can someone please tell me?)"
Just as the orange cat was feeling desperate, it heard intermittent sounds of water.
Out of curiosity, the orange cat headed towards the direction where the sound was coming from...
On the other side, the princess, who was eager to find her playmate, also found herself in the forest.
She was quite familiar with this place and had an idea of how to find her playmate.
To put it simply, she relied on her sense of smell.
Although she didn't have as good a sense of smell as a dog, her sense of smell was still much stronger than that of an average girl.
Following the scent emitted by the orange cat's fur, the princess searched along the way and soon made some progress.
She saw a man and a woman walking into the forest, and the man had the lingering scent of the orange cat on him.
This was normal, as the man was Wang Xiaolei.
Wang Xiaolei had fed the orange cat before, so it wasn't strange for him to have the cat's scent and a few cat hairs on him.
And the reason why the princess judged that Wang Xiaolei was a man was through the detection of male scent;
This method was exactly the same as the one the orange cat used to judge the gender of its close friends in the past.
"My dear, I'm going to find a suitable place to take care of my own business, wait for me here."
While observing patiently, the princess noticed that the girl next to her target suddenly rubbed her knee and ran towards a dark corner of the forest, leaving the target alone.
It was a perfect opportunity.
Thinking about finding the orange cat, she was just about to approach Wang Xiaolei when he spoke first:
"Friend hiding in the dark, did you get something wrong?"
Looking around, the princess didn't see anyone else, so she concluded:
She had been discovered!
The target's keen observation skills surprised her and made her feel a bit panicked.
The princess was not someone with strong adaptability;
Once her plan was disrupted, her actions would become irrational and rely solely on her instincts.
"Are you coming to find me, or should I come find you? Let me know if you have any thoughts."
Amidst the target's continuous urging, she completely lost her composure, her mind blank and her body reacting instinctively.
"Three-second countdown, if you don't come out, I won't be responsible for the consequences!"
With just three count downs, the princess had already moved away from the original observation area, her flexible body bending downwards;
This action indicated that she was ready to reveal herself.
When the countdown ended, she, who was not fond of speaking, responded to the target with actions, swiftly pouncing forward.
Bang!
Despite being extremely lightweight and moving at an incredibly fast speed, it still caused a significant impact to the person being touched.
Unconsciously running too fast, the princess collided with the person head-on as soon as the sound fell, knocking him down completely.
When she regained her senses, she found the man lying face down on the ground, while she remained in a sitting position, her soft bottom resting on his face.
This impolite gesture made her, who had now calmed down, feel very apologetic.
Thanks to the good teachings of her maidservant, the princess knew one thing: when you make a mistake, you must correct it either by apologizing in person or by compensating with actions.
As she was thinking about how to make up for it, a subtle feeling of something being wrong passed through the princess' senses and into her mind.
It seemed that the person who was being crushed beneath her petite bottom was forcefully sniffing, as if smelling something.
Unable to bear the unbearable itchiness caused by this extremely uncomfortable sensation, her body began to tremble.
Affected by this discomfort, her sitting position changed, and she moved on top of the person's face.
After the change in her sitting position, the princess noticed a rush of air coming from beneath her skirt, as if the person beneath her was taking deep breaths of fresh air.
Not long after, she, who had observed the person for a long time, inexplicably had a premonition of being "under observation" by someone.
Noticing the gaze that had turned towards her, the princess subconsciously lowered her gaze and, in the moment she saw the person's face below her, pursed her lips inward.
Huh?
A perplexing voice echoed deep within the princess' heart, and a seed of confusion arose from it:
Had she, who rarely ventured outside, seen this man beneath her before? Why did she have a sense of familiarity that lingered?
At this moment, Wang Xiaole's gaze became more active as he carefully examined the princess' cat ears and tail.
Being scrutinized by someone of the opposite sex was unexpected, but the one being observed felt no displeasure.
After all, considering the environment she had grown up in, the princess had never been in contact with the opposite sex, so she didn't see much difference between males and females in her consciousness.
Having been looked at for a long time, the dazed princess suddenly remembered something: yes, she had accidentally knocked this person down and even used him as a cushion; it was such a bad thing to do, and she should apologize properly.
Although she didn't plan to say anything, one of her hands took action while Wang Xiaole was sorting through his thoughts, locking onto his chest.
The princess extended her hand, touching Wang Xiaole's skin through his clothing, warming his chest with her warm and small hand.
Doing this had a purpose.
Whenever the princess made her maidservant unhappy, she would use this method of transferring warmth to make her maidservant happy.
One minute later, the warm compensatory gesture ended, and the princess felt that she had balanced things out with the person in front of her.
Next, she had to get back to the matter at hand and inquire about clues regarding the orange cat.
But before she could think about how to express her intentions concisely, her ears received a voice:
"Little sister, where did you come from?"
The topic was taken over, and the princess suddenly found herself in a passive situation.
She was not good with words, and it just so happened that the question Wang Xiaole asked could not be explained in just a few words.
......
Silence, the princess could only remain silent, and apart from that, her reaction was complete ignorance.
Seeing the little girl opposite him not speaking, Wang Xiaole's curiosity was piqued, so he asked, "Little sister, if I say something wrong, I apologize in advance, but... can you not speak?"
"I can."
With just this one word, the little girl spoke more words than the princess spoke in a week of staying at home.
Wang Xiaole touched his chin and vaguely guessed what kind of personality the little girl had.
In short, the little girl was a typical "silent and expressionless" type, especially emphasizing the aspect of being silent.
"But how am I supposed to communicate with her? The knowledge I learned from comics and animations probably won't be of much use."
After muttering to himself, Wang Xiaole changed to an easier-to-understand question:
"Little sister, what's your name?"
"Meow."
"No, big brother didn't ask you to meow, he asked for your name."
"Meow."
No matter how many times the same question was repeated, the little girl in front of him only had one answer.
After being told many times, Wang Xiaole's mind suddenly clicked, and he suddenly understood:
"Oh, your name is 'Meow'! What about your last name?"
"Bai."
"Bai Meow, is that right? Got it, big brother knows..."
"Cai" and "Bai Meow", these were the two simplest and most straightforward names Wang Xiaole had heard since he had self-awareness.
Unconsciously, Wang Xiaole complained silently:
Who came up with such a name? It's completely lacking in standards!
"Gu gu gu gu gu."
The protest from his stomach resonated, and Wang Xiaole instinctively covered his stomach, but after covering it for a while, he realized something was off.
"It's not my stomach growling... Are you hungry, little sister?"
By now, Bai Meow had already gotten off Wang Xiaole's body and stood on the nearby soil.
Immediately, Wang Xiaole flipped over and stood up, looking down kindly at Bai Meow, asking if she wanted food.
As a response, Bai Meow slowly turned her head, even though her stomach had been growling the whole time, she showed no signs of changing her mind.
It wasn't because she was wary of Wang Xiaole.
In Bai Meow's consciousness, the concept of "being wary" was almost non-existent.
She wasn't unwilling to accept or doubting Wang Xiaole, nor did she think he was suspicious;
Bai Meow simply had no appetite at the moment because she was concerned about Orange Cat.
"My dear, I caught a chubby cat!"
The voice of a third party attracted the attention of the man and the cat.
The two intersecting gazes met a young girl stepping out from the darkness of the forest.
In the happy laughter of the girl's voice, a round and plump orange cat was lifted by her delicate fingers, wearing a face full of lifelessness.
Who else could it be other than Lucia, besides Lucia?
That she was able to catch that orange cat was purely accidental.
Lucia hadn't anticipated it either:
After taking care of her own needs, she unexpectedly encountered this chubby orange cat on her way back.
Of course, Lucia didn't catch the cat with the intention of keeping it as a pet.
Lucia liked cute things, but the definition of "cute" varied from person to person;
At least for now, Lucia didn't find this cat cute in any way.
Regarding her true thoughts, just as she later expressed to her beloved:
"Darling, you've been running for so long, are you hungry? Shall we roast and eat this cat?"
