"Do you still recognize this thing?" Youzi gripped the cross in her hand and raised her corresponding arm high, allowing her sister, who was a certain distance away, to also see the red light emanating from it.

The light itself was very faint, like red paint diluted with water, but Cai still noticed it.

Similarly, there was a glow of the same color emanating from the cross she wore around her neck.

However, just seeing it was not enough. Cai didn't know the secret of this little ornament; she could only hear it from Youzi's mouth:

"This little trinket was personally handed to me by our parents many years ago. There are two crosses, and the other one is with my sister."

With just this sentence, Cai couldn't think too much, she just tilted her head and asked in return:

"How coincidental. When my parents were still alive, they also gave me a cross."

Even more coincidental things followed.

Youzi slowly said, "Before our parents passed away, they advised us: even if we are separated in the future, as long as we don't lose the crosses, we can still find each other through the red light they emit!"

Suddenly, a scene from Cai's memory was extracted and replayed in her mind.

Although she didn't know the secret from her parents due to her young age, she couldn't help but ask one more question:

"At what age did the parents of this leader of the bad guys give you the crosses?"

This was the question Youzi had been waiting for.

He immediately smiled with his sharp teeth showing, his smirk looking quite menacing.

"I received this cross when I was fifteen. How about you?"

"I received it when I was seven... Wait! How old are you, you bad guy?"

"I am thirty years old!"

At this point, Cai suddenly realized something. She lowered her head and pursed her lips, feeling troubled for a long time.

After a fierce inner struggle, she finally managed to answer Youzi with a weak voice, stuttering:

"I am eighteen years old this year, and I vaguely remember my brother who has long since passed away, who was exactly twelve years older than me..."

"This is not a pure coincidence. Your so-called deceased brother has actually been alive all this time. Little sister, I am your brother Youzi!"

If we understand it this way:

In the previous moment, Cai still had some doubts about the other person, but when she heard that name that had been sealed deep in her mind, she could basically conclude:

"You are, indeed, my brother."

It was not a question but an affirmation.

Even though Cai's tone was hesitant, the definite conclusion contained no traces of suspicion.

The soldiers who were watching the spectacle were surprised to hear such a sensational secret, and the military ranks immediately buzzed with discussion.

Cai didn't pay attention to the surrounding noise. Her rapidly spinning mind was processing a large amount of information that came unexpectedly.

While she was distracted, her actions were another matter.

She still held the cross sword in her hand and stood in front of Wang, with no intention of retreating.

It must be acknowledged that Cai's adaptability was extremely fast, which was closely related to her difficult life experiences.

From childhood to the recent hardships, Cai's extremely challenging life had cultivated her astonishing ability to accept.

Youzi didn't wait too long.

While he still had patience, he received a response from his sister:

"It's been eleven years, brother. I never expected that after we reunited, we would become enemies!"

In a weak voice devoid of emotions, it can lower the temperature on the scene more than the cold winter wind and snow.

Perhaps, Yu had envisioned creating a warm reunion scene, but as her younger sister, Cai had no intention of being receptive.

The scene of reminiscing never had a chance to begin and was directly skipped over. Cai pointed her sword at her brother, then turned to look at the person behind her and bluntly asked:

"Brother, are you enemies with him?"

Gradually realizing that her plan to confuse her sister had failed, Yu felt that she had underestimated her sister, or at least underestimated the other person's level of maturity.

"If Brother answers 'yes', which side would little sister stand on?"

This was a test.

Compared to her brother's cautious probing, Cai showed some straightforwardness and without any pretense, she said:

"I stand by his side!"

For a moment, Yu deeply doubted:

Did she mishear?

Between blood-related family members and mere outsiders, did her younger sister actually choose the latter?

In the worst-case scenario:

Even if she wanted to choose an outsider, wouldn't she hesitate when faced with such a decision?

From the moment Yu posed the question to her sister's official answer, there was not even a second of hesitation, a true "instant answer"!

From Cai's perspective, the "unthinkable" reaction was actually not strange at all.

Behind her was a family member who was bleeding alone, desperately shouting to be away from danger even if it meant losing her voice;

In front of her was a relative who had never helped her in any way when confronting soldiers, yet claimed the title of "brother" the moment he opened his mouth;

Differences always arise from comparisons.

Analyzing up to this point, Cai's differential treatment can be considered logical.
