I thought I could win.

Cai found that there were no signs of disturbance on her clothes, but she still felt uneasy and went to see what the other person was doing.

Now, Wang was lying on the carpet, with his arms folded, lifting and lowering his upper body.

Cai could tell:

The sweat couldn't have suddenly appeared, so the possibility of pretending to exercise was immediately ruled out;

Looking at the person's eyes, they were pure and not at all like the lecherous look from yesterday.

In Cai's eyes, there was just a sunshine boy who was working out and sweating in the early morning under the dim light.

She couldn't help but think:

Did I misjudge him?

One of the main reasons Cai was wary of Wang was because of his previous behavior, which was not proper at all.

But now?

She regretted labeling him as someone with ill intentions just because he had made some inappropriate remarks in the past.

"I'm sorry!"

Wang was exercising and heard the shout, so he turned his head in a split second.

He saw Cai walking towards him from under the bed, picking up a sweat towel from the table along the way, carefully avoiding wrinkling it by holding onto the edges.

"Your well-behaved behavior last night has overturned my prejudice, and I've decided to get to know you again!"

Cai was not wearing shoes, so she half-squatted and stood on tiptoes in front of Wang, handing him the towel;

Only then did the height difference between the two become noticeable.

Wang glanced at the towel and took it without saying anything.

The purpose of the towel was, of course, for wiping sweat, as his forehead had just started to sweat, taking away a lot of heat from his body.

He was not used to such a harmonious and complete plot.

Shouldn't the usual and normal plot be that Cai checks her pajamas and eventually discovers some evidence;

Then she approaches him, subtly questioning and probing, and eventually uncovers the truth...

If the plot had developed that way, Wang would have had many ways to handle it, such as pretending to be ignorant.

But what was the situation now?

A young girl standing beside him, with apologetic eyes, sincerely handing him a small prop for wiping sweat.

In comparison, what did it look like?

Wasn't this a despicable opposite example, maliciously deceiving a naive and easily deceived girl?

The contrast caused so much damage!

"Damn, why does my conscience hurt now..."

"Huh? What are you saying?"

"I said I've had enough exercise for today."

Wang tapped his chest for a while and slapped the area where his "conscience" appeared, warning it about its untimely appearance.

It was also a coincidence that if Cai had encountered a kind-hearted person, she might have confessed her wrongdoing under the torment of her conscience;

But Wang was different, his conscience could only temporarily restrain him.

After the brief discomfort, just like a period pain, Wang's attitude returned to normal, still not looking like a good person.

After finishing the sit-ups, Wang brought his legs together and propped himself up against the window, tossing the towel accurately onto the table.

"The foolish woman is up? Perfect! I'll give you today's task."

One advantage of fur clothes was that the person wearing them could stuff a lot of things into the inner pockets of the clothes thanks to their thickness.

Wang reached into his clothes with one hand, using a scratching gesture, and held a deck of cards between his thumb and little finger. The box containing the cards was pushed towards Cai.

"Today... no, I should say for the next four days, the only task for the foolish woman is to play," Wang said.

"Play?" Cai repeated the unfamiliar term.

"Play with me! You don't need to do anything else! Isn't this task easy?" Wang said with enthusiasm, knowing that for most people, playing all day would be a joy.

However, Cai couldn't share in the excitement and asked, "Can I choose to work?"

At that moment, Wang's face twitched, but it was so brief that it was hard to notice.

"Are you a workaholic? Can't stand a day without working?" Wang asked.

"No, it's just that I personally find work easier compared to playing with you," Cai replied with honesty.

"You... You're such an honest girl!" Wang praised, patting Cai's head with his large hand, which brought her a comforting feeling. However, Cai felt that in the next three seconds, she was about to face a familiar fate. And indeed, her forehead was gently tapped.

"Foolish woman, listen carefully. You need to learn to accept others' goodwill, and that 'others' specifically refers to me," Wang said.

"But yesterday you told me not to be a pushover," Cai reminded him.

"Yes, I will say it again today to the foolish woman. You must get used to doubting, but you can trust me unconditionally!" Wang declared.

This statement proved that the concept of "double standards" has existed since ancient times.

The game began, with one of the participants purely "voluntary."

As for the content of the game, it was a matter that required serious consideration.

Wang's personal opinion was, "We won't play the game from the Eastern Continent so that I don't give the impression of 'bullying others.' Let's play a popular game from the Western Continent. Do you see this deck of cards?"

There were many variations of card games, but since only two players would be involved, the popular versions were not suitable.

Wang decided to play a modified version of the game "Twenty-One."

The rules were as follows:

All the cards were placed in the box. Both players drew seven cards as their initial hand and took turns playing one card in order.

If Player A plays a card higher than Player B's card, the winning player doesn't need to play in the next round, while the losing player continues to play.

At the end of each round, regardless of the outcome, both players take turns drawing one card based on the pre-determined order and add it to their hand.

After several rounds of competition, the two players calculate the point values of the cards they played. Whoever surpasses the number "Twenty-One" first is directly considered the loser.

The rules were not complicated, and after Cai memorized them, she began to play against Wang.

The first step was to play rock-paper-scissors.

Perhaps due to her poor luck, Cai lost without suspense, putting her at a disadvantage from the start.

At this moment, Wang pondered, "What should I do next to protect her dignity as much as possible? After all, this is just a game, and the only purpose of playing is to make both parties happy. There's no need to take it too seriously."

Even though Wang understood these basic principles, he also knew that he couldn't blatantly let his guard down, as it would be disrespectful to his opponent. On one hand, he had to consider the self-esteem of beginners, but on the other hand, he couldn't blatantly let the other person win either, which put Wang in a dilemma.

Just as he was contemplating a "win-win strategy," Cai suddenly put down the playing cards in her hand. Wang's first reaction was that she thought the game was already decided and was conceding defeat early. However, to his surprise, Cai's first sentence after putting down the cards was, "Five, eight, three, three, four—totaling twenty-three points. I'm sorry, but you lost."

"You lost, you lost, lost, lost..."

The echoing words reverberated in Wang's mind, causing him to feel dizzy. "No, it can't be! How could this happen?"

After suffering a defeat in the first battle, this determined person's expression noticeably wavered, and his level of alertness increased. He thought he had been careless and unintentionally let Cai win easily; this outcome was completely unexpected. He was determined not to repeat the same ending again! With revenge in mind, Wang started the second round.

Since Cai had won the previous game, she had the opportunity to go first this time.

In approximately the time it took to drink a cup of tea, she said, "Six, six, seven, three, you lost," as the result of the second game was quickly determined. It didn't even progress to the fifth round like the first game, as the loser and winner were determined in just four rounds.

"Heh heh heh, not bad. But that's alright, it's worth giving my all for a real fight!"

Naturally, Wang's hand holding the cards trembled, and the cards shook in his fingers, like an old leg affected by rheumatism.

At this point, Cai didn't really want to continue playing. She thought this was just a game, and the most important thing in a game was for both sides to have fun. However, when she looked at the other person's reaction, she couldn't see any enjoyment at all. To be honest, Cai didn't have the heart to trample on the other person's self-esteem any further. If she lost the next game, it would be fine, but if she won again...

"How about we stop playing? Is that okay?"

A true man would never answer directly, only giving a firm shuffle of the cards as the answer.

The process and outcome of the third game could be summarized in one word: "You lost."

Wang realized he was wrong, underestimating the classic saying "the game is a battlefield," and decided to go all out from this point forward.

The result of the fourth game could be summarized in one word: "Lost."

"Lost."

"Lost."

"... "

After more than ten consecutive games, Cai couldn't bear to say a certain word again and chose to express the outcome through silence. The meaning of this silence was close to "experience it for yourself through my gaze."

Wang had originally planned to teach Cai how to play and show off in front of the opposite sex, but now he was completely defeated by his opponent. Suddenly, he felt a wave of shame engulf him, entangling his mind and refusing to dissipate.

Using a famous quote: he thought his opponent was just a low-level player, but he never expected to encounter a true champion. At this moment, Cai finally made a silent vow to herself, never to touch playing cards again, in order to avoid continuously adding insult to the innocent. In terms of words, she tried her best to comfort, "Don't play anymore. Up until now, the situation has been like me bullying you. I feel very guilty about it."

"Hmph, bullying? Hmhmhmhmhm!"

The broken laughter shook the leaves outside the window, causing the birds perched on the branches to panic and flee, trying to avoid the impending apocalypse.

"Are you alright?"

Although Cai was somewhat afraid, she had an obligation to take care of the other person's emotions, unlike the birds that had nothing to do with the situation, so she couldn't avoid it.

In response to her concern, Wang suddenly raised the face that had drooped earlier, with a calm expression and said:

"Good, very good! Because I just figured out a truth."
