Chapter 8: Slowly Integrating with Everyone
update icon Updated at 2025/10/26 13:10:12

There must have been some strange events happening in our academy, otherwise, how could so many strange coincidences occur? It seems like things are way too safe here.

"Yukari, why are you so angry?"

"Tell me, who sent you here? Are you a spy for the Alliance?"

Right off the bat, Yukari kept bombarding me with questions, not giving me a chance to speak.

"You are just a lackey of the Alliance. Let me see if you have a military badge from your organization!"

As soon as she finished speaking, Yukari searched me up and down, as if eager to find any suspicious evidence on me. But that would be futile because after I left, the Alliance took away my badge and revoked all my information. It was impossible to find something that doesn't exist.

"Hey, we are all friends. Following you was just for fun, I mean..."

"Who said we are friends?"

Yukari's attitude towards me was less than welcoming, and she seemed to be on guard against me at all times, maybe she was already disappointed when she first saw me getting beaten up.

Unlike me, Yukari was quite formidable in terms of combat abilities, but early on in the school year, I heard rumors about her from my classmates. They said she defeated Frances in less than three minutes when they sparred. Some even suggested that Frances held back during the fight, but those details didn't matter.

"Hagrid, your skills are not bad, but they pale in comparison to mine!"

"Y-Yes!"

I stood up and stuck out my tongue.

"I am indeed no match for that guy. I heard about your reputation when I first enrolled. Edward's daughter can get away with anything, can't she?"

"Oh, so you're saying not only am I weaker than Frances, but I wouldn't stand a chance against you as well?"

"I believe so. I realized that Frances didn't go all out when we fought, especially considering I was facing a precious princess like yourself."

Even though he didn't go all out, I still got thrashed badly.

There were many witnesses present, and they observed the entire fight. During the battle, I was mostly on the receiving end, getting thrown far away by Frances.

"You seem hard to understand now!" I shook my head, smiling. "Why is that?"

"Tch, you act like you've known me well before, even flirting requires some skill!"

"Well... yes, towards the end of the fight with the teacher, it was quite challenging for me. His stamina was remarkable, and he didn't hold back on his attacks throughout!"

Realizing I misspoke, I quickly changed the subject, trying to distract her from what I had said earlier.

"Well, your reaction and attack capabilities indeed astounded me. At least in all the time I've been here, you're the first person whose strength I find comparable to mine."

"So what?"

"So, if you can't find a suitable partner, maybe the two of us are just right for each other."

Yukari's words were straightforward, as the school required students to form pairs of adventurers, a task not as simple as it seemed. Partners had to live together, and the thought of cohabitation between males and females raised some concerns.

"Even though you lost to him, he seems to care about you."

"How do you know he cares?"

"Well, why else would he constantly follow you around?"

Indeed, upon hearing what Yukari had to say, I suddenly began to feel a chill down my spine, as if someone was deliberately lurking behind me, watching.

"Well, just set aside some time to come see me, get the necessary paperwork done, and then I'll hand over the rest to you," she said.

"Huh, what do you mean... Wait, don't go!"

Her words were cryptic, leaving me no choice but to glance around me involuntarily.

"Anyway, just come see me before curfew tomorrow afternoon!"

With that, she left, patting her backside, and I looked around only to see a fluffy ball stuffed with coins slowly approaching me where she had vanished in the blink of an eye...

***

The size of the club area on campus is one-tenth the size of the entire school, with many clubs having peculiar activities, such as the Golden Riding Club and the Supernatural Society.

Knock knock!

The door creaked open, and I greeted with a smile.

"Is the club president in?"

A chubby, bespectacled guy opened the door, and suddenly, the atmosphere around me turned cold. Was it just the weather acting up?

"Who are you?"

The smile on my face froze.

"Ah, you're that weirdo?"

His face stiffened, "How am I weird? My sexual orientation is normal and no different from others!"

I had no choice but to leave, but he rushed in and clung to my legs, crying.

"Pity me and join the club."

Why did I have to deal with this guy? "Fine," I compromised, and he swiftly pulled out a club application for me to sign.

"Hehe, the condition at the academy is... once you join, you can't leave for a year, hahaha."

I criticized them, feeling a bit irritated.

"Tch, all men, is it necessary to act like villains?"

As soon as I finished speaking, he turned to stone.

"Bi... Big men?"

Suddenly, he picked up a chair and hurled it at me!

"Waaah, I quit the club! You psycho!"

"You're the psycho here, right?" Fortunately, it only hit the wall.

"Why couldn't it be a cute girl!"

I bid farewell to the club president, leaving with a parting comment.

"You'd better take care of yourself!"

Feeling really down, I realized I wouldn't survive here alone at school, surrounded by all these oddballs. Were normal people really that rare here?

I looked disdainfully at their almost lifeless club and then turned to the crimson sun outside the window today...

It is due to humanity's eyes that see truth through sincere reflection and discernment of right and wrong that the world is controlled by humans. What's even more surprising is that even the sage, as a third party, has joined this fight.

"The sun has changed color, could it be that the world is really returning to normal?"

What I meant by normalcy had a hidden meaning as I retraced so many memories, but in the end, all I could do was stand there dumbfounded, finally arriving at...

Water slowly flowed into the bottomless chasm. In the depths of this fortress, there were not only the monotonous city buildings but also a towering mountain peak, atop which sat Elena's headquarters hidden here.

"Will Santa Claus' gifts arrive on time this year?"

Yukari raised her goblet elegantly, gently swirling the wine sediment inside.

"For that old man, it's probably an immeasurable loss, as he can't always surveil me with the Eye of Heaven. He doesn't just want to continue restricting me; he wants to do the same to other unjust gods, right?"

"Yes, he's the kind of man who can even win over the Giant God, yet he dares to disregard some third-rate..."

"Hold it, hold it, so you mean to say..."

Yukari stood up from the dazzling golden chair, then slowly approached the old butler and glared at him angrily, inching closer to his face.

"Am I being grouped together with those third-rate individuals?"

"Where... where are you getting that from, Miss... I mean, Your Majesty. It's just that we all fear the infamous Demon Satan, he is just too powerful, powerful enough to instill fear even in the divine spirits!"

"..."

Seeing the old butler's terrified expression, Yukari had nothing more to say.

Perhaps it was because the once desolate world had now begun to become absurd again, this peace no longer existed, and even the Giant God's sister could not change that. Getting involved would only make things more complicated.

"So, Your Majesty, isn't it urgent to find the previous Divine Lord, the Giant God..."

"No, it doesn't matter if we find him or not."

Yukari's response puzzled the old butler, who asked in confusion.

"But the Giant God's power can change, change this hopeless reality!"

"It's useless, the Hope Badge has long been inherited by the Son of God, there's little value left in the Giant God besides Divine Lordompetence."

"Then why do we need to find the Giant God?"

"Hmph, because he and I have some unresolved grievances, it's time to settle them."

The priority is to find the Son of the Giant God, not the Giant God!

(Dinner time)

Throughout this, my gaze never left my own chopsticks and bowl. The school's food was very simple, basically just sandwiches, lacking in much thought.

I quickly finished my dinner and left the bustling restaurant crowd, while reminiscing in my mind if I had forgotten something important.

"Hagrid, that..."

"Hmm?"

I turned my head to find the person who called me, and their torch-like short hair suddenly caught my eye, familiar, but...

"Big sis, who are you?"

"... You don't remember me? We met just yesterday!"

"Well, I'm always absent-minded, sorry... I really don't remember where I've seen you."

"Ah, I'm the administrator of your dorm, Administrator Jora, do you understand?"

Jora? Oh, so she's the one who disturbed me at my door yesterday!

"As your superior, how can you be so indifferent!"

"What kind of superior is a dorm administrator... Oh, you're the one who bothered me yesterday morning, right?"

"Hmph, finally recognizing who I am, speaking of the conditions when moving into the dorm, you wouldn't have forgotten, would you?"

This time she was clearly a bit angry, and after seeing me recognize her, she directly vented her anger on me, and even brought up a rule that was mentioned when moving into the dorm, that is!

"The dorm has to undergo a comprehensive cleaning every Friday, if your assigned corridor isn't cleaned by six o'clock... hmph!"

"How is it?"

"How is it?" Jora was furious, "Next month, the entire floor's cleaning will be your responsibility alone, and you will serve everyone for free!"

"..."

As soon as I saw that it was already past five o’clock on my phone, I hurriedly prepared to return to the dormitory.

“Hey, hold on a second.”

“Is there anything else?”

“Have you bought the tools needed for cleaning?”

“...Well.”
