Chapter 7: Mother (2)
update icon Updated at 2025/5/8 2:10:12

Just wanted to greet Hai and ask it to release Juxi, but at this moment, everything suddenly became as quiet as a startled ostrich, and Juxi quickly buried his head into the container.

Ding~!

Perhaps sensing the movement inside the container, Hai suddenly turned back and scanned the entire room with infrared rays. After confirming that nothing unexpected had happened, it turned and left the room.

When Hai was almost gone, Juxi immediately began searching for a way out inside the container.

Fortunately, the space inside was not small. Although he couldn't stretch his arms straight, there was still some room for movement.

Though there was air supply inside, Juxi still felt uncomfortable and pushed against the door of the container, saying, "Damn it, how the hell do I open this thing?!"

He tried his best to stretch his arms inside the container, but the available space was too small for him to even know what his heels were touching.

Juxi tried to look up, but apart from his arms on either side, he couldn't see anything else.

Moreover, besides this problem, he also felt a momentary drop in temperature inside the container, but as he gradually regained consciousness, the temperature inside the container returned to normal.

"Damn it!" Juxi angrily pinched his thigh and said, "You better think hard and tell me where the switch to get out of here is!"

Saying this, Juxi forcefully slapped the glass of the container, but the lid on top didn't move at all.

He was starting to regret it. He kept thinking that if Hai came in again, he must stop it!

Time passed quickly, but Juxi still didn't see any sign of Hai.

He was getting impatient. If Hai didn't come soon, he might suffocate here!

Juxi took a deep breath and calmly observed the surroundings as much as possible.

After calming down, he thought that if this was a sleeping cabin, there must be some emergency measures here!

Putting aside the idea of giving up, Juxi searched all the places where his arms could reach.

Finally, luck favored him. In a corner of the side wall, Juxi found a button-like switch and pressed it without hesitation.

Pshh~!

A white mist rose around the sleeping cabin. Although there was a lot of gas, it dissipated quickly.

At the same time, the cabin door slowly opened, and Juxi couldn't wait to crawl out of it.

But this time, his body was really weak. He managed to grab the edge with his arms, but no matter what, his legs could not stand up.

Hey!

Juxi almost used all his strength, but still couldn't flip out.

Finally, he exhausted all his energy and fell back weakly inside the sleeping cabin.

Hoo! Hoo! Hoo...

After panting for a while, Juxi became smarter this time.

Taking advantage of the inertia of his body, he used his arms to flip himself out of the sleeping cabin.

The space in the room was still not as big as he had imagined, and the room looked slightly different from the one he saw yesterday. As for what exactly was different, Juxi really didn't know... maybe it was a bit bigger?

Looking to his left, Juxi found Yu Nai's sleeping cabin, still running with the machine on top indicating a normal status.

And below... is an unfamiliar man, but his condition is - dangerous!

Juxi couldn't help but be stunned. Could it be that what happened in his dream was real? Or... is he still in a dream?

Although it is possible, he can no longer worry about that. He just wants to quickly find someone who can help him.

So, Juxi leaned against the wall of Yu Nai's sleeping cabin and looked at his own sleeping cabin. There was actually another woman's sleeping cabin on top, with the name - Ren?

Juxi seemed to have some impression of this name, but couldn't remember it completely.

The names in this room seemed somewhat familiar, including the man in danger. His name is Edward, the oldest one here. He probably had some heart problems before coming in.

Juxi doesn't have the mood to care about who he is now. He focuses his gaze on the door handle.

If it were him in normal times, opening this door would be as easy as pie. But now, it seems almost impossible.

Ugh!

Juxi tried to push the cabin door, but it didn't budge.

He realized now that the cabin's driving method should be using a switch. However, the switch was more than a meter high. Juxi would have to stand up and make an effort to reach it.

So, he used all his strength and struggled to get up from the ground.

Buzz...

The cabin door still couldn't be opened, and Juxi's spirit was on the verge of collapsing.

Goodness, is this door locked by something? No matter how Juxi tries, he can't open the cabin door. And at this moment, there was a faint noise coming from outside the door.

Juxi looked outside through the glass and saw a robot that looked similar to Hai, except the decoration near its eyes was reddish, making it look quite different from Hai.

Although Juxi doesn't believe it would take his life in his dream, he still feels that he should be cautious because he can no longer distinguish what is reality and what is a dream.

Perhaps what is right in front of him is reality, but Juxi can't completely believe it. However, one thing he knows is that he is gradually approaching the truth of the matter!

After so many cycles, the mechanical gears have long rusted, and his memory has begun to undergo slight changes.

Juxi quickly realized that he always retains some memories, but the capacity of these dream realms is increasing, trapping Juxi in endless madness.

He needs to find the truth, following the guidance of the dream world.

Juxi quickly regained his senses and immediately hid to the side of the door. Although his movements were not very convenient, it was his fastest action.

The robot seemed to sense the movement in the room and only glanced briefly after opening the door. Not finding anything, it turned around and flew to the other side.

Seeing the robot go further away, Juxi immediately stuck his head out of the door and scanned the spacious corridor back and forth.

There were no more robots patrolling the corridor, not even the robot with the machine gun had left the stairs.

Juxi felt much relieved and dragged his exhausted body out.

The outside route was somewhat complicated, different from the spaceship he saw yesterday. This spaceship was brand new, and many paths were closed off.

With limited choices, Juxi didn't want to encounter the robot equipped with a machine gun again, so he chose the right path.

The corridor was long, almost like a never-ending road, and his legs were too weak to exert any force. He could only crawl slowly, inch by inch.

Along the way, there were numerous tightly-packed cabin doors. Juxi knew what was inside each one, but he didn't have the mood to care about others right now. He just wanted to know what had happened here.

As he passed by a window, Juxi caught a glimpse of the view outside... What was this?!

Juxi was startled by the gigantic planet. The spaceship was slowly moving towards a green planet, probably for detecting dangerous species. Instead of landing, the spaceship kept orbiting around the planet.

Seeing this scene, Juxi wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and finally gave up on the idea of getting off the spaceship.

"I... It seems that now is not the right time to go down," Juxi immediately retreated.

Unlike yesterday... or the last time, Juxi only feared death when he was on the brink of dying.

Although he still felt like he was in a dream, safety was always the most important thing. Juxi didn't want to take this risk.

Tick tick tick tick tick!

Something else was coming, but this time it didn't sound like a robot. It seemed to be something with legs.

Because Juxi was moving too slowly, even though his body could move a little, he couldn't even reach the minimum walking speed.

In order to avoid that thing, he had to quicken his pace and quickly hide behind the protruding frame of a large cabin door.

The height of the frame was just enough to hide a person. Juxi had to endure his weakness and squeeze himself into that narrow frame.

Just as he had hidden himself, a female figure appeared at the end of the corridor.

Juxi cautiously glanced outside and initially wanted to greet her, but in the next second, he changed his mind.

That person was just too strange, with eight tentacle-like appendages behind her, scaring Juxi to quickly hide again.

That woman... should she be a woman?!

The woman seemed to sense Juxi's presence, turned her head, and looked in Juxi's direction.

At that moment, Juxi's heart was in his throat. He could hear the woman's even breathing, as if she was nearby.

Until a strange smell permeated the air, Juxi realized that the woman was probably not a normal human!

Tick tick tick...

As the footsteps gradually faded away, Juxi finally felt relieved and cautiously stuck his head out.

Juxi felt that the woman was different from the robots. Could she be the "Mother" that Hai had mentioned earlier?

With curiosity, Juxi quietly followed behind the woman.

Although Juxi's speed was very slow, fortunately, the woman was also walking intermittently. She seemed to be observing the surrounding rooms and searching for something.

Juxi speculated in his mind, could she be looking for him?

He didn't know how long he had to keep following, but at least until he confirmed it was safe, he had to continue like this.

Since the woman came from the direction of the robots, Juxi also thought about whether he should go there. However, if he was discovered by the patrolling robots, they might do something unfavorable to him.

Of course, Juxi hoped that he was just overthinking.
