Chapter 215: Unexpected, Yet Inevitable—Someone’s Hesitation Continues (Part 1)

The time was 5:40 p.m. The location: outside the hotel where Ryuto and the others were staying.

“I still have to deal with Marquis Delance’s affairs after this, so I’ll leave you all here.”

“Ah, that’s fine.”

“As for Miss Anna...”

Crepes Clair shifted her gaze to Anna, who stood off to the side with her head bowed in silence.

She was doing a lot better than before, but she still seemed down, her face clouded with worry.

Well, anyone would feel that way after being used by their own father...

“It’s fine. What her father did has nothing to do with her. In the end, she’s a victim too. Her home is being searched right now, so she can’t even go back. Since she has nowhere else to go, there’s no reason she can’t stay here for a while. She doesn’t seem to mind, either. We’ll figure out how to take care of her.”

Katsuragi Reimi stepped forward and took the whole burden on her shoulders.

“If that’s what Miss Katsuragi says, then I’m relieved. That should settle things.”

“Still, I hope you’ll let us know what happens next. After all...”

Even if she’d been used, she still had the right to know what was happening with her father.

“Of course. I’ll share the relevant information with you all later.”

Crepes Clair understood that and didn’t refuse. In fact, she’d planned to do so anyway. Hearing them ask for it made things all the easier for her.

“Anyway, we won’t be staying here long, but we’ll do what we can to help while we’re here.”

“Then I’ll take my leave. Thank you all again for your cooperation.”

After bowing, Crepes Clair got into a car and left.

“All right. First, let’s get Miss Anna settled in...”

Perhaps trying to lighten the mood, Arashikaze Manami clapped her hands and said this.

Then she suddenly looked at Ryuto.

“Right, Amagi-kun?”

“Huh? Ah... right.”

Coming to his senses, Ryuto nodded repeatedly.

“If you know that, then quit dragging your feet, you... stupid big brother.”

Someone suddenly kicked him from behind, sending him flying.

“Ugh... What was that for, Asuka? You could’ve killed me.”

Asuka completely ignored Ryuto’s protest.

“And quit dawdling. Nobody’s even eaten yet.”

Arashikaze Manami clapped her hands and made a suggestion.

“Oh, in that case, let’s have a party.”

“A party?”

“Yeah. There are quite a few of us, so we probably won’t all fit around a regular table.”

“Well, sure. We can get a private room.”

Katsuragi Reimi nodded in agreement.

Hey, hey, you rich people! You’re talking about getting a private room like it’s nothing. Doesn’t that cost money? Just so we’re clear, I’m broke.

Perhaps she noticed Ryuto’s concern.

“Don’t worry, Amagi-kun. I’ll pay, since it was my idea.”

“No, I’m in on this too. I’ll chip in.”

Katsuragi Reimi said she’d contribute as well.

Jeez, every last one of them treats money like dirt. They’re ridiculously generous. My eyes...

“Then I’ll chip in too. And I have to contribute double.”

“Huh? Why?”

“What do you mean?”

Arashikaze Manami and Katsuragi Reimi were confused by Miyuki’s words. Miyuki just looked smug as she explained.

“Isn’t it obvious? The extra share is for Darling. After all, Darling’s broke.”

There’s nothing to be proud of about being broke. Well, even if the person in question isn’t the one who’s broke.
