"All right, what do you think?" Katsuragi Reimi asked from the driver's seat, knowing that time was running out.
The sound soon came through the earpiece. "Let me ask, how many minutes of fuel do we have left?"
After glancing at the fuel gauge, Katsuragi Reimi gave the answer. "Around five minutes left, and the plane is currently at only 3000 feet."
"Oh, it seems like we wasted quite some time just now."
"Since we know that, let's hurry. We don't have any time to waste."
"Got it, but it doesn't make much difference anyway."
Seeing the other person so leisurely, Katsuragi Reimi got straight to the point.
"So, where are we flying to?"
"Well, let me see. We'll change the plane's direction to the northwest."
"The northwest? Could it be...?"
"That's right, 27 degrees west of north, the pier that's about 100 kilometers away from the plane."
"That pier is too small, and we don't even know if the plane can make it there."
"For now, let's not worry about that. Let's just go with this plan."
"...Fine, I'll follow your lead."
Although reluctant, Katsuragi Reimi followed the instructions and maneuvered the plane in the northwest direction since there was no other choice.
However, there was another problem now.
"Never mind if the pier is big enough or not, since it's a pier, there should be many cargo ships. Won't we crash into them?"
"Well, don't worry about that for now."
As they continued the conversation, the plane was getting closer to the pier.
Using binoculars, Katsuragi Reimi checked the situation at the pier, but...
"What? What's going on?"
Soon, she exclaimed in surprise, and then spoke directly.
"Why have all the cargo ships already left the pier? It's like they've... made way for us?"
"It's like they've specifically cleared the way?"
Upon hearing the response, Katsuragi Reimi immediately understood.
"Is this your doing again?"
"Well, I just told them in advance that we needed a place for the plane to make an emergency landing."
But this answer didn't seem to satisfy Katsuragi Reimi easily.
"Just by saying that, others would make way for us?"
Feeling as though she was being deceived, Katsuragi Reimi seemed a little angry.
"...Don't be like that. I didn't finish my statement earlier."
It seemed that the other person also realized this and emphasized it.
"What else is there?"
The girl continued to press for an answer.
"I also said that if they could provide the pier for us, we would be very grateful. After all, there are many wealthy people on this plane, and if they are saved, they might be happy enough to invest or even settle here. And..."
"And?"
"And this plane is flying from Dreberlin to the Kingdom of Furosta. By preventing the plane from crashing, it can avoid friction between the two countries. I believe that both countries would be willing to contribute a considerable amount of money. After all, this plane is not cheap, and, most importantly, maintaining a good relationship between the two countries is more important than anything else."
Upon hearing this, the girl quickly understood.
"So, you mean you persuaded them with money? After all, from what I know, this city seems to be lacking funds for development due to certain reasons."
"Well... it's not entirely like that. It should be a decision they made after weighing the pros and cons. Although there is some risk involved, they consider it worth taking because the rewards are substantial."
At this point, the girl mocked the other person.
"Is it okay for you to make empty promises like this? Aren't you afraid that in the end, if you run out of money, they will tear you apart? Is your party of evil okay with that?"
She pretended to be worried in such a manner.
