Chapter 5: The Beginning of Everything (Part 2)
update icon Updated at 2025/8/6 10:10:12

The scene takes place in a room within a residential building in the city. The room is both fully equipped and simple and tidy, without being ostentatious, exuding a girlish atmosphere. One could say it's low-key luxurious with substance.

Since they say "you are what your name implies," it wouldn't be far-fetched to say that the room reflects its owner. Therefore, it's not difficult to guess that this is the room of Arashikaze Manami, the current student council president of Kanagawa High School.

It is now 8:30 in the morning, and logically speaking, Arashikaze Manami should have already gotten up. However, in reality, she is still lying in bed.

Could it be that she slept too late last night and can't get up in the morning?

But the truth is, Arashikaze Manami didn't sleep late last night, and even if she did, it wouldn't have been late enough to not be awake by now.

So, does she have a habit of being lazy on her days off?

The answer is no. Even on days off, she cannot be lazy. It's a rule in the Arashikaze household that ladies cannot be lazy. The young girls have been taught this since childhood.

However, upon closer inspection, one can notice something unusual. There are two little girls standing by the girl's bed. These two little girls are Arashikaze Manami's younger sisters, Arashikaze Yui and Arashikaze Yuka. They are taking care of Arashikaze Manami beside her bed. The reason they are called taking care of her is because Arashikaze Manami fell ill last night. Although it was just a common fever, she can't get up now. Logically speaking, resting for a day would be enough, and it's a holiday today, so there shouldn't be any worries.

"Big sister looks really troubled, and she keeps holding her forehead. Could it be that something strange entered her head?"

"Ah..."

Upon Arashikaze Yui's baseless speculation, Arashikaze Yuka easily believes it.

"Or maybe it's a curse. After all, it is possible in this day and age."

Arashikaze Yui once again makes her baseless guess.

"Ah..."

And Arashikaze Yuka once again makes a sound as if she understands everything.

In this way, the two of them continue to casually talk about extremely scary things while taking care of her.

Just then,

"Creak—"

The door was pushed open.

Mouri Saburo, the old butler of the Arashikaze household, hurriedly walked in.

"Ah, Butler Mouri, is something the matter? Why are you so flustered?"

Arashikaze Yui, who is more outgoing, directly asks.

To this, Butler Mouri's face shows a look of anxiety.

"Yui-sama, I have something important to tell Miss Manami."

"But Miss Manami is not feeling well right now. Even if there is something important, she can't act, and it may be difficult for her to give advice."

Arashikaze Yui politely refuses Butler Mouri's request, and Butler Mouri understands this very well. Perhaps it's precisely because he understands that he appears so hesitant and anxious.

Arashikaze Manami seems to understand Butler Mouri's dilemma as well, despite feeling unwell. She still...

"It's okay, Yui. Even though, as you said, I can't move, I can still give instructions."

Saying that, Mouri Butler gestured to speak.

Butler Mouri still hesitated, and in the end could only lean in close to Arashikaze Manami's ear and whispered softly.

It should be to avoid being heard by others. Although Arashikaze Manami found it strange, she didn't say much.

After Butler Mouri finished speaking, Arashikaze Manami looked surprised.

"Is it true?"

She confirmed it again and again.

"Yes, it's true. I just received the news, and there is not much time left. We must act immediately, but..."

The old butler stopped halfway through his speech, probably worried about the girl's health.

And Arashikaze Yui began to persuade the girl on the side.

"Although we don't know what's going on, Sister cannot act right now. The doctor said she needs to rest today, and..."

Before Yui could finish her sentence, she was stunned by the scene in front of her.

In an instant, the girl who had been lying on the bed, unable to get up no matter how hard she tried, suddenly stood up, no, jumped up. It may sound strange, but that's exactly what happened.

Just as everyone was astonished, the girl spoke.

"Butler Mouri, prepare as soon as possible. If there isn't enough time, let them postpone that event."

Completely unlike a sick person, she decisively gave instructions.

"So you mean..."

Butler Mouri thought the girl had misspoken and confirmed with an incredulous tone, but the girl simply gave a definite answer again.

"Yes, as long as we use Arashikaze family's privilege."

"Yes, Miss."

Since the girl had made herself so clear, the old butler had nothing to refute, so he immediately started taking action. However, at this moment, two questions lingered in Butler Mouri's mind.

After all...

As far as Butler Mouri knew, the girl hated using this privilege the most, but now she was willingly using it. And moments ago, she seemed weak and unable to move, but after hearing that something, her illness seemed to inexplicably disappear. Miss was willing to go to such lengths for that person, what exactly...
