Chapter 27: The Background of the Yamaguchi Sisters

The location was a study room in a certain part of the city. Although there were many books in the room, they were neatly arranged, and the desk was spotless. The room decoration was not luxurious, but it was very clean and comfortable. It seemed that the owner of the room was a person who lived a systematic and clean life, quite the opposite of Ryuto.

At this moment, the owner of the house, Jun Hito, the principal of Kanagawa High School, was sitting at the desk, quietly reading a book. His body on the chair remained motionless, except for occasionally flipping through the pages. From this perspective, he was quite similar to Ryuto, except that they were reading different books.

The room was very quiet. Even if a needle were to drop on the floor, it would be heard clearly. If one listened carefully, they could even hear the sound of their own heartbeat.

At this moment, a knocking sound broke the silence. Soon after, a voice came from outside the door.

"Grandfather, may I come in?"

It was a polite voice of an adult woman. She had been waiting at the door until Jun Hito gave permission, a habit she might have developed since childhood, or it could be called etiquette.

Hearing the sound, Jun Hito slowly raised his head from the book buried in front of him and said towards the direction of the door.

"Yes, you can come in."

Upon receiving permission, the door was gently pushed open, and Yamaguchi Kumo, Ryuto's teacher, appeared at the doorway holding a tray with a cup of tea. No, wait, how could it be her? It should be her twin sister, Yamaguchi Fukiyo.

The current Fukiyo Yamaguchi was not wearing the white coat she normally wore in the school infirmary during the day. Instead, she was dressed in casual home clothes, a simple blouse and a long skirt. Her hair was tied up, forming a long bundle that lay over her right shoulder from the back, making her look like a maid, only missing the traditional maid outfit.

In this way, Yamaguchi Kumo... no, it was Yamaguchi Fukiyo, walked in holding a tray with the tea and placed it in front of Jun Hito. After Jun Hito marked his place with a bookmark and closed the book, he naturally picked up the cup and took a sip.

Of course, the taste was beyond words. Even if he drank it almost every day, he wouldn't find it too overwhelming. However, Fukiyo Yamaguchi felt that her grandfather seemed a bit different today because he wouldn't normally close the book even when he was drinking tea, as if to verify Fukiyo Yamaguchi's thoughts.

"Fukiyo, you met Amagi Ryuto today, right?"

Jun Hito suddenly spoke.

"Yes, Grandfather. Is something the matter?"

"No, as the principal of Kanagawa High School, it is necessary for me to understand the students."

"I see."

It seemed that Fukiyo Yamaguchi accepted this somewhat forced explanation.

"Well then, Fukiyo, what do you think of Amagi Ryuto?"

Fukiyo Yamaguchi held the tray to her chest, slightly raised her head, and thought for a moment before answering.

"Well... although I've only met him once, I find him quite interesting."

However, Jun Hito seemed a little confused.

"Interesting?"

"Because he is different from what I expected."

"..."

"After all, as a brother, one would feel somewhat inferior to a sister who is so talented and even in the same class. But that person is completely different. How should I put it... even though he is in such a situation, he doesn't seem to feel any inferiority. He truly is an unimaginable person."

Fukiyo Yamaguchi smiled while holding the tray to her chest.

Perhaps her answer was unexpected, as Jun Hito remained unusually silent.

"Grandfather, in that case, are you very interested in that person?"

"Because he is a troublesome student in a certain aspect, after all."

Jun Hito replied with a meaningful tone.

"By the way, speaking of which, I told him about his sister."

Although Jun Hito's words sounded calm, his eyes showed a great deal of surprise.

"He knows?"

"Yes, because it seems that his sister has been worried about something recently, and Ryuto's Special Order Department is responsible for handling school-related matters. So, I tried asking him."

"What happened then?"

For some reason, Jun didn't ask Yamaguchi Kumo what was bothering him, maybe because he knew, or maybe there were more important things to pay attention to.

"After he looked at it, he said he wasn't very clear either. Honestly, it's not right to trouble students with this kind of thing, but I feel much lighter after speaking it out."

"I see."

"Well then, Grandfather, I won't disturb you any longer."

Saying that, Yamaguchi Fukuon left with the door.

Afterwards, Jun didn't immediately pick up the book that was placed aside, but instead pondered on something.

It was something Jun couldn't have imagined, that Fukuon inadvertently revealed it. How much did that person really see through?

Even though they answered like that, it's hard to feel at ease. It seems there will be actions soon, after all, that person is not an ordinary person.
