The tip of the gun collided head-on with the roaring ice tornado, emitting a series of grating sounds as it spun rapidly. The cross-shaped long spear, tainted with golden Chi, created a similarly spiraling airflow that continuously cut through the icy vortex, scattering the shattered ice shards from the collision downward with undiminished force, much like bullets fiercely impacting the battlefield barrier.
"Full of energy, huh, Aya."
While urging Chi to maintain the ice tornado, Tiran still had the leisure to communicate with Aya through their contract. "But trying to make me wear a maid outfit is too naive. I definitely won't let that happen!"
Indeed, as Tiran mentioned, even though the strike by Aya was powerful, it relied solely on Aya's Chi reserves. And if it came down to a pure consumption contest, Tiran would actually welcome it.
The endless reserve of frost Chi enabled her to sustain her most powerful attacks continuously, but even with the astounding amount of golden dragon Chi, it would eventually deplete—especially in intense Chi collisions.
The dazzling golden and ice-blue flames, like two raging dragons, entwined and battled fiercely, causing gusts of wind to sweep the training grounds into chaos.
Seeing that the spear in Aya's hand was nearing the end of its strong thrust, her petite figure seemed about to be swallowed up by the storm.
But just then, through the storm, Tiran caught a glimpse of a cunning smile on Aya's face.
She was quite familiar with that smile, having often seen it when she pranked Aya in the past.
"A bad premonition..."
The golden flames suddenly extinguished, while Aya herself withdrew her assault, allowing herself to be engulfed by the tornado. Tiran saw Aya's shadow being almost instantly swallowed by the raging wind.
"Hey! Aya, you..."
"Relax, I'm not about to sacrifice myself. But Tiran, you'd better be careful, step back right now!"
What's going on?
Though not quite understanding Aya's intention, Tiran, trusting their mental connection, instinctively drove her Chi to oscillate in front of her, pushing her body back out of the tornado.
In the split second as her body began free-falling, a swift red light suddenly illuminated at the base of the ice tornado.
Though faint and fleeting, Tiran's gaze managed to catch a very subtle red line piercing upward, much like a laser pointer leaving a trace in a sky filled with sand and dust.
Then, without warning, the ice tornado disintegrated, along with the reinforced battlefield barrier.
"Hey hey, is this some kind of cheat?"
As the shattered barrier disintegrated and vanished into countless shards, the fierce wind raised moments ago had still not entirely subsided. Tiran, after cushioning her landing with a burst of Chi, landed steadily.
Even though she narrowly avoided Aya's attack thanks to the warning, she couldn't help but feel a shiver. The power unleashed, disregarding the rules, was indeed quite terrifying.
"I found a Dragon Knight combat technique not long ago. Originally, I wanted to see if signing a contract would unlock any useful memories. Turns out, I did find a fragment, only one move left, but it seems pretty powerful."
"Why can even Aya use this Dragon Knight combat technique? And really, how much more do you have in store?"
Leaning her sword against the ground, Tiran gazed at Aya, who had just dismantled the base of the ice tornado, unable to hide her surprise.
In fact, she had been wanting to complain for a long time now. How could Aya's notebook contain everything? It was like a divine tool provided to the author for plot fillings and fixes!
"Even if you ask me, it's hard to say."
Aya picked up the long spear, only to find that after absorbing a significant amount of Chi, the ordinary weapon was now useless, so she could only shrug innocently.
The way of remembering for immortals was slightly different from that of humans.
For Aya, recalling a memory was similar to searching through the backend storage of a computer. With the vast sea of consciousness as a foundation, everything he experienced and all memories stored could be retrieved through recollection. The only issue was the lack of a keyword search function; he had to rely on clues to slowly find what he needed. Hence, Aya couldn't exactly quantify the memories stored in his mind; certain things could only be remembered when relevant information was needed.
Although Tiran could do something similar, the habit of human memory meant she didn't actively consider exploring this aspect.
"Enough of that, shall we continue?" Aya flexed her fist.
"Of course, the outcome is still undecided. Let's fight." Tiran beckoned with her finger before grasping the hilt of her sword again.
Though caught off guard by Aya's sudden use of the Dragon Knight combat technique, it wasn't a finishing move, and they were merely sparring out of boredom. The few exchanges just now hadn't even fully warmed up their bodies.
Frost Chi enveloped the blade and Tiran swiftly closed the distance, while Aya, without evading, raised her hand directly for a punch.
The sword's blade slid off Aya's fist, sparking a series of clashes between the blade and scales of Chi, with Tiran arriving at Aya's side to deliver a slash.
The sword energy drew arcs blocked momentarily by Aya's instant wind barrier, allowing her time to turn around and shatter the sword energy with a punch once more. But it was only the beginning; with both swords in hand, Tiran skillfully wielded the blade creating a dense mesh of glowing Chi-enhanced sword strikes, making it difficult for Aya to fully defend even with her quick reflexes.
Yet, with the protective scales of Chi, she wasn't seriously injured by the pressure—the only thing she could be thankful for.
After exchanging blows for half a minute, Aya gradually realized something was amiss.
Her reactions hadn't slowed down, but the number of hits she was taking had significantly increased. It wasn't Tiran's exceptional swordsmanship or any berserker's buff, but the spreading cold that was dulling her movements.
Unknowingly, a thick layer of frost had formed under her feet at some point, indicating she entirely neglected her footing while focusing on her attacks.
"As sneaky as ever, Lady Tiran!"
Struggling to break free from the ice that froze her feet, Aya released Chi from her right leg and kicked off Tiran's sword with a foot, following up with a Magic Two-Step—dark and metallic, with a flash of reflection, piercing the ground and chasing Tiran back, who had been pushed away.
Initially thrown off balance by the force, Tiran found herself unable to move quickly, having to parry the sword withstood a similar kick from Aya moments before.
The precise tip of the instant thrust struck the sword at the same spot, the consecutive strong strikes in the same position successfully breaking Tiran's Chi-enhanced sword.
"Phew... If you have attribute swords, so do I, Lady Tiran. Brace yourself for what's next."
Two flame seeds were already between Aya's fingertips, growing into a burning giant sword as she extended her arms.
